I like him because he is so genuine. His personality isn't strong and he isn't a genius, to me he feels like the embodiment of artistry. He's merely a child born on the basis of despair and utter disgust for others yet, because of the fact that he does not appreciate human life, he instead finds something else to appreciate. His own beauty. It's not like he's a boring scientist only focused on research and inspiration, but he's a raging toddler touching everything he sees and having such strong reactions that don't fit into any norm. Mahito is simply satisfying to me, as I somehow don't hate him but I don't like him for himself, but instead for how amazing his existance is.

I simply love his artistic and villainous personality. Before using his domain, he was literally getting jumped by Yuji and Nanami and he called it fresh inspiration. He's also that kinda villain that would enjoy watching the world burn, much like Freeza, Shigaraki, and even Douma or Muzan. Gotta love him.
