Fred Williamson has done it all. Track and field athlete, a professional football player, and won a super bowl championship ring, a martial artist, an architect, lead actor and stunt man, film writer, film director, producer, and he owns a movie company, called Po' Boy productions. That is quite an accomplishment, and achievement. !!!
refreshing isn't it?... this has been one of the best interviews ive ever seen... everybody, of every race, racist or not should watch this interview. it would definitely humble some & shame some others..🙏🙏🙏🙏
Fred was a true superstar, on the field on the screen in the classroom and in the workplace. Love you Brother and always appreciated you for being a standup guy.
Im a 70s baby and I grew up watching all of these Black Ploitation movies or as we learned today just damn Movies with black people in them. But Fred Williamson was definitely one of the OGs we watched and admired. Great Interview
We need more interviews of our past legends that are still with us! James Earl Jones, Carl Weathers, Billy D. Williams, John Amos, Richard Roundtree, Antonio Fargas
In 1975, 5th great essay of my life when I was grown. I had a photo of Mr Fred Williamson as my husband I had been in love with him since and never was blessed to ever meet him. But love him in Black Ceasar and Hell up in Harlem, stay Blessed Sir always 🙏🏾❤️
what a iconic interview old Hollywood with new Hollywood brilliant comradery. we love to hear the backstories to the classic hits in different generations so cool to learn about 70's God bless everyone.
I loved this interview with the"Hammer" because he is such a confident, good looking, intelligent and down to earth kind of guy!!!! He's still rocking it!!!! 💚💚💚😊😊
I just saw the movie ‘The Hammer’ this past weekend on Pluto tv and I was one of the coolest movies I ever watched. Fred Williamson is an awesome action hero.
Sidney actually did slap someone literally. The iconic slap in The Heat of the Night. The first time a black actor/character slapped a white man. You stand corrected sir
And the thing about that slap is that it was not written in the original script. Sidney Poitier’s own Manhood demanded a response to being slapped by a racist “White” man and responded in kind. After getting over the shock of it all they decided to leave it in the film and the rest is history. Mr. Poitier deserves more credit then most of us give him when it comes to the roles that he played in films.
@@abdullahrasheed1493 well said! Folks always try to juxtapose him and his movies with the hyper masculinity of the blaxploitation era. But I challenge anyone to find a moment, a scene, where he didn’t exempt masculinity. No hat in hand. No overcompensation. Just simply dignified manhood.
I grew up watching Fred at the Movies on weekends back in the day. He still has those signature cigars & super cool demeanor, I loved "Black Ceasar" & "Hell up in Harlem" were among my favorites. This man is still super cool at 85.
Fred, Gary,Indiana great. Remember when you Rudy Clay,Jimmy Brown and many other stars came back to G.I.and East Chicago and made ORIGINAL GANGSTERS. You guys gave the community work. Will never ever forget! Sorry about your two buddies Jim and Rudy passing away recently.
Mr. Fred Williamson was one of the people that I looked up to. I remember going to the movie theater in Detroit, Michigan to watch the movies that he was in
Fred Williamson is a man's man. Thank you Vlad for this interview. Fred Williamson, Black belt Jones, and Jim Brown (both SIP) were a part of my idol brigade, as well as Muhammad Ali, Bruce Lee, Chuck Men in Black Norris, Thomas Hitman hearns just to name a few growing up. These are men like them, which has helped shape me and made me face the bully and whip his candy az#.
Hate I've never seen this man's films but after this sit down, I'll definitely be going back and checking them out. He's such an awesome and well spoken figure. Seems like everybody's favorite uncle.
This an AWESOME interview. I have seen almost all of his movies, 3 the hard way is my favorite. He is still sharp at his age, he has not changed 1 bit, sharp as ever.
I love this guy I grew up watching him as a kid his hands are enormous just to show how big this dude was in his prime. Getting old really sucks even my body has changed that's why you always gotta work out and keep yourself fit at all times
WHAT a Life !!! Mrs Williamson has brought More joy and entertainment and Was one of My first Heroes on film ,Hammer We NEED A NEW FILM ! AND I HAVE A GREAT IDEA !!!
I love me some Fred Williamson! He is the epitome of a man's man. I learned more about this brotha. He's intelligent, athletic, business savvy, and handsome. Mr. Williamson, is a highly competent, intelligent man.Remind me of myself, he is a great role model, motivator. This man is remarkable, he should run for president!
Fred is right about Sam L Jackson movies. If you think about it, most films he's not the drew..he's supporting not the main star in the films that have made lots of money
Wow what a fascinating interview. I remember him as a football player, I tried to imitate his badass approach. And his movie career, his how to live life. And 85, what an inspiration.
Fred Williamson is 85 years old. He aged good. Still in good shape and a sharp mind. The respect that Michael Jai White gives him is priceless. One of the few actors left from the blaxploitation movies era.
Vlad and Fred were wrong about Sidney Poitier not "Punching out", or "hitting anyone". Sidney Poitier played Virgil Tibbs in the 1967, Oscar winning movie In the heat of the Night, where he slapped a white plantation owner named Endicott, in retaliation after being slapped first for questioning him.
