You and your mum are adorable! I lost mine several years ago and we were really close as well. It's great to see you two bonding like that. Love to both!
Hello Miranda, and thank you for your wonderful channel. I discovered it with this particular video while searching for views of the Bronte Parsonage. Although I have lived all of my 65 years in western Canada my favorite authors all come from the UK, with Barbara Pym, Ruth Rendell, and PD James being my favorites. But among my 4,000 books are many, many others including the Bronte sisters and Jane Austen. Like you, my late wife had a several versions of her favorite novels, all of which had some small thing to make it a necessary addition to the library. I loved watching you and your mom making a sponge cake, and your china collection would have impressed my father, who never had fewer than three fine cups and saucers at his table setting. Your chats and tours are everything I could ask for to watch while enjoying a pot of tea by my front window. As the snow gathers and the temperatures drop, I look forward to many more. Thanks again for the time, thought, and effort you put into each one. CW, Saskatoon, Canada
I have been obsessed with the Brontes since I was a child and read a brief biography of their family. At 16 I bought a little replica of Bronte Parsonage. So when I travelled to the UK from Australia in 1999 it was my one absolute place I had to visit. I was so incredibly emotional while I was there. I watched this whole video with a big smile. Thank you.
Thank you for this video✨✨✨ I last went to Haworth in 2017, it was real bliss... It was also a rainy day, though it was in July. Despite the weather, we enjoyed it so much! After visiting the parsonage we went to Tea Rooms, had tea and scones with the view of Yorkshire countryside...I miss it so much! We travelled there by retro train, it was also an amazing experience. I should say this day in Haworth was the highlight of our summer holidays in the UK. Wish to go back there one day🙏
Oh Miranda! What a wonderful and exciting video! You don't know how excited I was to see those rooms again. For me it was also a dream come true to walk where the Brontë sisters walked. I'm glad you and Donna enjoyed your visit. You have to return with better time and go to the waterfalls and Top Withins, it is well worth the excursion. Thank you, thank you very much for letting us join you. xxx
I visited the place 45 years ago...one of my most precious visiting expériences ! I was a French assistante at the time and my friends took me there for a week-end. It is amazing how those children surounded by death , bereavement manager to muster their fantastic, endless imaginative power to write whag they did. My favourite novel is wuthering heights. Next time : I will rush with you and walk into the brontë’s footsteps😅. I am looking forward to it!
Oh I am so glad I got to see that! Living in Canada, it's not too likely I will ever get to go. The village is just how I imagined it. I thought the rain was perfect. Thank you for sharing that!
This so much fun. The museum was wonderful. I did giggle when you two realized that lunch was still at home. Welcome to my world. I have to make lists for everything. And now I have lists of lists to look at. 😂 I hope that your garden continues to grow and that Peter Rabbit and friends find somewhere else to dine. I do envy you with all the greenery and rain. Here in the desert we haven't seen much rain all year. I miss it so much. My best to you both. Until next week, have a great weekend.💕📚💐
Thank you for the lovely tour of the Bronte Parsonage Museum....very lovely! As for your garden, since the soil is shallow, perhaps a raised bed would work?
Dear. Miranda, thank you for this lovely video. I really enjoyed it. I am from Germany and I Am a big England Fan. I have been to London and Cornwall and I would love to visit Yorkshire one day. Greetings Kerstin 🙋🏻♀️📚
I so enjoyed the trip to Haworth and the Bronte Parsonage. Thank you for sharing! I live in the US so it would be a major expedition for me to travel there.
what a wonderful video! Hard to believe they were able to write such great work in those conditions, having zero privacy, wearing those tight corsets... adds a whole new meaning to the concept of 'confinement'. It was lovely to see the museum. In spite of the absence of snacks haha so funny. Thank you!
What a wonderful video, the museum and the accompanying music you selected was just so poignant. Everything was so lovely. I too am always early to arrive at places in case I get lost etc. I couldn’t help but laugh at the missing picnic lunch, I do such things myself too. You and Donna are so delightful and I just relish your videos. Good luck with your garden and have a wonderful week💕💕
Lovely piece of film. With the Bronte's, what I like about them is you can travel back in time 200 years to Haworth and the parsonage and everything is so well preserved - it is so easy to suspend your disbelief. You can stand by the clock half way up the stairs and just imagine they have all stepped out for a moment...
Thank you so much for taking us along with you. I did so enjoy visiting the parsonage when I went a few years ago and it was such a pleasure to return with you. I too was stuck by how petite Charlotte's dress was. The area is very much worth exploring but do take some sturdy boots for walking outside the village!
So exciting...Awhhh. Dang...I gwoin to cry...sniffle. PERFECT Bronte weather, good tea(w cream?), good company (Mum) and YORKSHIRE. I think I had a past life in Yorkshire. I am so enamoured with it. Thank you so much for this. You made my day. The only thing better would be ME with you both. Luv from an Anglophile in USA🇺🇸🇬🇧

I loved this video! I'm a booktuber from Brazil, but I live in England. I really would like to go to this Museum, especially because one of my favourites classic books is Jane Eyre. I was waiting for the end of the lockdown! Thank you for sharing this moment!
Miranda and your mother your trip was wonderful I love the brontes so that was really neat for me to think that I'm in a really a lot of pain with me today so I can't go to any places See it in your eyes is really 👍 👍
Really enjoyed this video. Thanks for taking us to Haworth. It was timely as I just finished a biografy of Charlotte B. One thing:be careful with the mint. It tends to take over the whole garden.Better keep it in a pot, I recommend:)
Great footage! Many thanks from Canada, for taking us along & giving us an opportunity to see the Bronte home. The pebble collection really struck me, the colours were so varied. The dress, the stockings, the necklace, the magnifying glass, all so wonderful to see. Thank you!
This was so delightful. Thank you for taking us along. The architecture is so beautiful, and the rainy backdrop so perfectly Bronte-esque. Seeing Charlotte's beautiful dress gave me goosebumps. I can't imagine writing a novel in such a busy room of the house. I would have been distracted early on, and Jane Eyre would still be hiding behind that red curtain.
Ha, I know what you mean, Pamela! Seeing that dress gave me goosebumps as well, and it was so special to see the place in which they produced such masterpieces! xxx
Hi Miranda and Donna, a lovely Friday treat and I could really sense the atmosphere from your filming - I thought the sofa and Bramwell's room was very moving to see. It's been raining heavily here all day which added to the ambiance when watching! Your kitchen garden is looking great and I am sure the rabbits can be put off if you gather some twigs from the woods to put over the vulnerable plants or you might try planting some chives near them.Thank you so much for a wonderful start to the weekend and I hope you both have a lovely weekend too, Teresa 🐇🌻
Thank you so much, Teresa! Yes, we were incredibly moved by the parsonage. Those are great tips - never knew chives could act as a rabbit deterrent- thank you!! Xxx
The two of you are just delightful! Hearing you laugh together is absolutely spirit lifting, rain or shine! Thanks so much for sharing your visit to the Brontë Parsonage.
Thank you for such a lovely video. It made me a little teary eyed watching it! I just love Haworth and the Brontës. I've been lucky enough to visit twice, but hope I can go again. Wuthering Heights is my favourite novel and my youngest daughter even has Emily as a middle name 😊. Next time you go you might be interested in finding the Brontë stones. Each stone has a poem on it. Anne's is just behind the parsonage in the little garden. I hope you're flower bed grows well too. Hopefully all this sun and rain we're having will help it along!
Thank you, Emma! It was incredibly moving to be there in person. We'll definitely look out for the stones next time. We didn't actually get to walk around the garden at all, so I'm looking forward to doing that when it isn't tipping it down!! xxx
Hi Miranda, thanks so much for this video, I was quite moved when watching the video, especially of the Bronte’s home, I hope to go this 🍂 autumn. Your garden and 🌸 🌺 flowers will soon look beautiful and would be like a soul blossoming in nature, and you are so pleasant and mum too!
What a delightful trip that was! Thank you for inviting us along as your guests. It is so refreshing to see something so rich in history especially when we have all stared at the same four walls for over a year. The fun you two have together reminds me so much of the joyful outdoor trips I used to take with my beloved mom. Have a lovely weekend! I am going to read some bronte literature, now😉
Lovely video! Thank you so much for taking us along to Howarth. It was one of the last places I visited with my mother. She passed away 12 years ago to the day. You filmed looking down the high street just where I took her photograph! While inside the parsonage, did you see the portrait of the sisters? It appeared briefly. Branwell painted it; originally including himself but he subsequently painted himself out! You probably read about it. I think it was folded and stored in a cupboard for a time, hence the fold marks! Thanks again, Miranda and Donna, it was lovely to see Howarth again.
Thanks so much for this lovely tour of the Bronte home; I really hope to visit sometime. By the way...about the bunnies and the fennel...I use a liquid fence deer rabbit repellent to try and keep the deer out of my garden. It kind of works, I understand it's better with rabbits. I'm not sure if it's the same thing in the UK, but you may want to look into it. Have a great weekend!
You and your mum have one of the most beautiful relationships I have witnessed. Is there something in particular that your mum did for you growing up that created such a special bond? Or does your Mum have any tips for mothering and building strong connections with children. I am a Mum of four young children and aspire to have a strong, lovely relationship with them. Thank you kindly. -Bernadette (from Australia)
What a lovely video! Thank you for visiting and filming Haworth. I may never get to see the Bronte’s house and now I can visualize it when I read about them. I just finished a biography of Charlotte by Winifred Gerin, which was amazing.
Oh happy days..... for me !!! Miranda and Donna are back vlogging and getting about! ..love the forgotten cuppa but so felt the sense of lack of a cup of tea!! Thanks for the trip down a lovely memory lane.
Dear Miranda, this is such a lovely, moving and yet calming video. Thank you so much for sharing this special experience with us. I also watching this while it is pouring rain here swell. So maybe I'm in the correct mood and background for ti right now. And can you tell me where your dress is from your wearing at the end of the video (min 17:26)? Its lovely. You always have such a good taste. xxx Catherine
It was delightful to watch your trip to Haworth and the rain only made it more atmospheric, if not great for walking about. You are so lucky to live in England where you have such incredible history and so many exquisite landmarks relatively close by. I love my country, Canada, but I do wish we had the gorgeous architecture and history you have closer to hand. Not to mention the country lanes. I live in western Canada, it has great beauty all its own, but I miss that certain coziness and the sense of the ancient which England has in spades. I've been watching your channel for a few months now and I'm really enjoying it. Thank you to you both! Now, off to watch today's episode... :)
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed this video. I appreciate the incredible history and landscape of Britain too. And I’m half Canadian btw 🇨🇦 😊
Thank you Donna and Miranda for taking us to such amazing trip. The museum seems very interesting to visit. I hope I can visit it one day too. Have a nice weekend!
Thank you for taking us with you to Haworth. I remember visiting in the early nineties. It looks so cosy nowadays but I read that there were no carpets or window treatments because the sisters' father was so afraid of fires. So probably it did not look so nice and comfotable at the time.
Agreed! And old engravings and drawings of the parsonage and grounds as they looked at the time the Brontes lived there are a bit of a shock too -- no trees! It was quite a severe, barren-looking setting, no shade anywhere, everything quite exposed -- very different than today.
What a lovely video - thank you so much for sharing. I am reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte at the moment and I now definitely want to visit the Bronte Parsonage Museum. I am becoming, rather late in life, a fan of the Brontes (and also Jane Austen) . Good luck with your garden bed. Best wishes to you and your mum from Lottie in Suffolk x
Beautiful trip Miranda and Donna; I loved sharing this journey with you both. It was exciting to learn about the Bronte's home. I especially liked seeing their personal items and how well they had been preserved. As well, I am so glad your garden was a success. Kindest regards, Sara.
What a thrill to see the actual home & writing spaces of the Bronte sisters! Especially guided by two such enthusiastic ladies! I have had the adventure of visiting England once from America with a week in London & a week in Brighton. Definitely one of the highlights of my life, & want so much to go back to include seeing the Parsonage. Have read all their works, & want to thank you for sharing your trip with us! Happy reading! 📚👓🌷
Hi Miranda. Thank you so much for taking us along with you.I loved it .such a beautiful place.I get chills just watching it.hope to see you soon.take care.
I know it's two years later, but I wonder how the garden is. I will keep watching videos and maybe there will be an update😊😊😊 Thank you for sharing your day with us 🌷🪻🌹
Thank you very much for taking us on your visit. I'm glad it was quiet as you went round. I always find the clock on the stairs very moving. It must have seen so much, and was wound up by Patrick. It stands as a sentinel for the Brontes, including Maria and Elizabeth
Watching the two of you at the Bronte Museum reminds me what an amazing place it is, really unique and I agree it is absolutely poignant to see the spaces they lived in, and some of their belongings and original writings. Makes me want to visit again! The forgotten picnic was very funny, I'm glad you didn't edit that out, that's why we all love your videos, fun and honest too. Lovely to see you both back on IG and both looking well and happy x
I’ve just watched this and it was really wonderful, thank you so much for taking us along with you! It must be fifteen years or so since I visited Haworth (also on a day of very heavy rain!) and I loved seeing it again in your video. I love the way some rooms are arranged as if they are still living there - you can imagine Charlotte has just left her writing desk - and seeing their personal belongings, like the clothes, it’s very touching and makes the family seem very real rather than remote historical figures. I hope your little garden flourishes despite the bunnies!
thank you so much ... it's been a number of years since I toured the museum and it was a delight to visit. I remember how teeny her dress was - she was so small! The situation with Branwell was very, very difficult. Hard to imagine what they had to go through to continue to live with him. Again, thanks so much - it was really wonderful to see the parsonage again. I loved the sisters' writings very much! I hope the village of Haworth was not hit too badly by covid -- there were some lovely stores there when I visited!
Oh how I missed your exploring adventures! What a treat it was to visit the Brontë Parsonage “online” ☺️ And then there’s the great moments like the instant you realised you forgot lunch and settled for tea 🤣 Thanks for an amazing time 😘
So great to join you on your trip to Haworth - watching it on a rainy day (after all the sunshine!) really added to the atmosphere 🌧🌧 It's been a long time since I visited Haworth but I can still remember the very unique atmosphere of the place. Amazing that so much talent was born and thrived there. Enjoy your strip of garden, hope it flourishes despite those rascally rabbits! Have a lovely weekend 🐇🐇🐇
Thank you so much, Lindsey! Yes, it's amazing to think of all that talent. Fingers crossed the bunnies realise there are plenty of tasty treats elsewhere!! Enjoy your weekend too xxx
This brings back lovely memories of a visit in spring 2018 when the weather was not cheerful but there was no deluge! I had myself reading Bronte novels before we left Australia and I spied my cloth covered edition of Villette in the gift shop :) It was very busy when I visited I envy your quieter day to enjoy it more. I hope you have success with your garden, mine is rampant with self sown sweet peas!
So enjoyed this video this morning. Brought back memories of my visit there many years ago. Looking forward to future videos of your trips around Yorkshire. Your content is always interesting and well filmed.
Do try to get to the waterfall, it’s a lovely walk though we had sleet on the way when I did it! I loved your house tour, I remember being amazed at how small a space they had to produce such masterpieces.
Lovely to see your trip. Hope to get over there myself one day. Recently read Villette for the first time and it is now up there as one of my all time favourites. If you can find a bit of wire mesh (or some similar barrier that lets in light) to form a barrier around your new plants to let them get established, it will give them a chance! Otherwise, plants that the rabbits leave alone (in my experience!) so far include sedums, foxgloves, comfrey (great for bees) and mint which I think you've mentioned. Happy gardening!
This was amazing! Thank you taking us along. I hope your garden thrives. I planted flower seeds and then we had a mole around my cosmos. I'm hoping they'll still bloom!
I’m so glad you got to see such a wonderful place. I can’t wait to go back- hopefully I’ll get there in the kids summer hols this year. I’ve had requests to do a more complete performance of Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights on the moors- I did a small prance about last time and it went down a storm with my friends 😂 Need to find a flowing red dress I feel 😂 anyway, thanks for sharing this, I’m in the mood for a re-read of Agnes Grey now I think xx
How absolutely divine seeing the Brontes home. ♥️Your little garden bed will grow beautifully I’m sure. Have you updated us at all? I have watched some of your more recent clips but I haven’t seen an update yet. Let me know if you can if you have given an update? Thanks 🙏🏻 for taking us along on your outing. 🙏🏻
What a wonderful video! I really loved seeing the inside of the parsonage...I feel like I have only seen the outside. I think the rain made it even more special! Thanks again for such a lovely video!
How wonderful Miranda! Definitely an exciting day. I'm from Ayrshire, Scotland and love visiting Burns Cottage where Robert Burns was born, lived and wrote. Such unique and special experiences.
And do you know, that the Brontes went to Bruxelles some years and that that Charlotte's experience there made her write Jane Eyre?? They have also guided tours through the Bruxelles of the Brontes. Something wich also is on my bucket list. very fascinating....
Yes, I only recently discovered the story of Charlotte's time in Brussels. I think that the man she fell in love with, Monsieur Heger, must have partly been the model for Mr. Rochester. He was dark-haired and imo very good-looking judging by a portrait of him with his wife and children that can be seen online. It must have helped Charlotte to be able to write the happy ending she couldn't have in life.
Oops meant to say as a gardener my green thumb was twitching and for what its worth her is my advice: pop on a mulch around the plants of compost about 2 to 3 cms thick on the little strip garden and put some edging in to keep it moist and weed free. Water with a seaweed liquid fertiliser once a week and pop bunny guard around the prone vulnerable plants.
Very interesting video and with a nice personal touch. I'm hoping to visit there in the next week or two. I can't imagine Emily Bronte living in the present. There would be far less privacy now although knowing her she'd manage to avoid the curious. Thank you for the video.
I love this so much going for a tour around being from Australia never been there I love the house and everything in it so lovely .it was fun when u forgot the milk and tea things only bought the tea in flask .🤣❤️
Love the Parsonage Museum - although last time we went we took our 18 month old which turned out to be a mistake 🙈 We had to make a speedy exit before she destroyed the place. If you’ve not seen it, I’d recommend the film To Walk Invisible, all about the lives of the Brontes and especially Bramwell and his alcoholism. It was all filmed in Haworth and at the Parsonage.
Thank you so much for this trip. I always wanted to visit it myself, but now you made it possible for me to see it during Covid time. You are my most favourite youtube channel❤️. Many greetings🇳🇱😘
Looks amazing! I always think about how strange it would be for them (or anyone with a preserved historical house) to know that decades or even centuries in the future people will be touring their home and possessions and how odd that would seem to them having lived a fairly mundane life. Like Emily Dickinson’s home for example. She wasn’t famous when she was alive and was a shut in, so I wonder what she’d think about her home being a museum now. They’d probably be beside themselves. I think you may need a little fencing around your plants for the rabbits. At least until they’re established.
You and your mum are adorable! I lost mine several years ago and we were really close as well. It's great to see you two bonding like that. Love to both!

Thank you so much! I'm very glad to have brought back some happy memories for you; my Mum and I definitely have a lot of fun exploring together 😊 xxx
You ladies are absolutely wonderful, I'm so glad to have met you, your channel is a gem! 💕🌸
lovely sharing... enjoyed watching very much x
Glad you enjoyed it, Yumi! Thank you!
@@MirandaMills Ah, wonderful! :)
Absolutely loved this trip to the Bronte Parsonage!
I loved everything about this Miranda. Thank you for taking me along xx
So glad, Anita! xxx
Thank you so much, Lottie! How fun you're reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall - hope you enjoy it! It's a favourite of mine xxx
Beautiful trip Miranda and Donna; I loved sharing this journey with you both. It was exciting to learn about the Bronte's home. I especially liked seeing their personal items and how well they had been preserved. As well, I am so glad your garden was a success. Kindest regards, Sara.
This was such a beautiful video.🥲 Thanks to you and your Mum for filming and getting the lovely footage of Charlotte's dress and Anne's necklace.
I just loved this! Thanks for sharing.
You both are so sweet. Love your work😍👍
That was just lovely, thank you both so much.Hope your garden grows.xx
Thank you so much 😊
What a thrill to see the actual home & writing spaces of the Bronte sisters! 📚👓🌷
Thank you so much! I do hope you’re able to make it to the parsonage yourself one day - it’s so special to see it in person!
It’s definitely on my bucket list, Miranda! Thank you...🇬🇧🇺🇸
Thank you for filming this and I am so glad you are feeling better!
Hi Miranda. Thank you so much for taking us along with you.I loved it .such a beautiful place.I get chills just watching it.hope to see you soon.take care.
Thank you Pauline! So glad you enjoyed it! Xxx
Fascinating video! Thanks for taking us along ❤️
Thank you so much, Penny! We're all human and forget things 😂 It was so special to see the parsonage, and I'm looking forward to many return trips xxx
Lovely video, I was in awe too with the Bronte Museum. Thanks for sharing.
I remember how teeny her dress was - she was
so small!
So glad it brought back happy memories 😊 Thank you for your lovely words xxx
I am looking forward to future trips around Yorkshire
Do try to get to the waterfall, it’s a lovely walk though we had sleet on the way when I did it! I loved your house tour, I remember being amazed at how small a space they had to produce such masterpieces.
Such a special video. Thank you so much !
It was so wonderful to go ❤️
Lovely to see your trip.
Thank you very much! And for the gardening tips. We’ve heard they don’t like lavender either so I just planted one today - fingers crossed 🤞
Haha that sounds like a plan!! 😆
I’ve recently discovered your channel I love the Bronte sisters too Jane eyre is my favourite book. One day I hope to visit he museum
Thank you so much! I hope you manage to get to the museum one day; it’s a fabulous experience ❤️
My brother used to live in Haworth, how ABSOLUTELY cool is that? I so loved to visit! 😍 Your video brought back many happy memories thank you. X
What a wonderful video! I really loved seeing the inside of the parsonage...I feel like I have only seen the outside. I think the rain made it even more special! Thanks again for such a lovely video!
So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 😊
How wonderful Miranda! Definitely an exciting day. I'm from Ayrshire, Scotland and love visiting Burns Cottage where Robert Burns was born, lived and wrote. Such unique and special experiences.
Oh how wonderful! I'd love to see Burns Cottage sometime! xxx
@@MirandaMills it's really excellent, and has a wonderful museum beside it filled with his original writings, etc. x
Beautiful moors, nice village.
What a treat - Haworth is on my list of places to visit. So funny about the picnic.
Oh I hope you make it one day!! It was very special ❤️
You and your mother are so lovely, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much 💕
And do you know, that the Brontes went to Bruxelles some years and that that Charlotte's experience there made her write Jane Eyre?? They have also guided tours through the Bruxelles of the Brontes. Something wich also is on my bucket list. very fascinating....
Yes, I only recently discovered the story of Charlotte's time in Brussels. I think that the man she fell in love with, Monsieur Heger, must have partly been the model for Mr. Rochester. He was dark-haired and imo very good-looking judging by a portrait of him with his wife and children that can be seen online. It must have helped Charlotte to be able to write the happy ending she couldn't have in life.
Hi Miranda! Never been so early 🥰 Thank you for your lovely content as always!
Yay! Thank you! xxx
LOL.. y’all are so funny! That sounds like something I would do… destination arrived lunch in fridge! The place is so lovely.
You two are adorable! I'm so jealous right now. Thank you for sharing this trip to the Bronte's.
Very interesting video and with a nice personal touch. I'm hoping to visit there in the next week or two. I can't imagine Emily Bronte living in the present. There would be far less privacy now although knowing her she'd manage to avoid the curious. Thank you for the video.
Too funny! I’m glad I’m not the only one who forgets things😂💗
Definitely not!! 😂
Love your Mom!,! Both have such an endearing smiles
Thank you so much- that’s so kind! I hope you manage to visit one day; the Parsonage is so special 😊📚💕
Thank you so much! 💕
Lovely video, you may want to check the links in the description for your Instagram pages, they don't seem to be working :)
That looked like a lot of fun, Miranda: even the loss of lunch couldn't quell your excitement!
My dream has always been to go to the Bronte parsonage! What a lovely experience
Love The Bronte Museum.
amazing... if only the brontë sisters had been photographed before they died young...
Picnic attempt number two, but this time remember the lunch and don’t forget the tea.
And hope for sun! ☀️
Thank you for sharing
