Watching this video I'm really surprised they are looking after their Lathes because everytime any welding is done you never see the earth clamped to the part being welded so that says to me that they have just clamped the welding earth to the bed of the machine, if that's the case then it won't be long before the headstock bearings will be destroyed because when the arc is struck it will be marking the running surfaces of the bearings so it can make a circuit and with the bearings running in oil it will be damaging the bearing surfaces everytime the make a tack weld.
Totally agree!
😊
100% correct
Me to and that someone can repair a crankshaft with crude machinery is only to be admired, Werhere it works is another question 😂😂
And you might be surprised by the answer he would give if we spoke Hindi ! 😅
I agree that there are alignment concerns with the crankshaft job. Overall I give them 9 out 10 for their craft and their problem-solving skills. In parts of the world where auto parts may not be that readily accessible or very expensive for a small farmer, we learn to appreciate this kind Trade.
No alignment problem. these are the guys who had forged the crank. they can check that if any is out will just be a small drill out on dynamic balancing.
43 years ago I interviewed a machinest who'd been recently laid off after many years of faithful service in a Boston area company.
He explained his loss. Vietnamese immigrants who came here were hardworking and quick to learn.
A manager asked his machinist to show one of the immigrants how to do simple jobs on a lathe, which they did.
The Vietnamese were respectful and hardworking, but they were also very familiar with hunger and insecurity.
The jobs meant a lot to them, and they worked very hard to please the people who signed their checks.
They worked with out breaks. The experienced machinists were let go. The hourly wage difference was the reason.
That lasted until new jobs came in that required a different setup, and the managers had no one who knew what to do.
Shortly after that, that, company went out of business.
A costly savings in a manager's quarterly report was more important than the company's survival.
Guess that's a trap several companies has gone into. thanks for sharing
Looking at what these guys have to work with in the tools category. I marvel at the precision they can still get.
Muy bun trabajo👍👍👍👍👍👍
Esta muy bien hecho👏👏👏👏👏👏
On that crank welding video that engine would never run again after that repair, i didn't need any Dial Test Indicator stand with a bit of pointy wire on it to tell me that No1 and No4 Conrod Journals weren't in exact alignment 😂😂
The german guy thought the same. Greeting from Bavaria, the home of BMW.
Presne tak a zavaril olejovy mazaci kanal...
You beat me to it. was thinking the same thing.
What fools you are! They sold that for full price as new. It's been two years and that truck is still carrying loads of people rice and chickens over the Andes, three trips per week.
The axle repair is a no Brainer. I've spliced two axles halfs together several times and had the four wheeling boys beat on them for years.
1st Video. Crankshaft repair. After the repair, there is no oil hole in the journal that must supply that main bearing with oil. All the other bearings after that main bearing will also be starved of oil. I bet it wouldn't even last 200 revolutions without oil. Another boat anchor.
Missed opportunity to bump the compression up a bit, now you don’t have to worry about clearances for valves.
Really awesome build!
The first shop was incredibly well kept, and the machinery was immaculate. These guys do amazing work!
"Incredibly well kept"? Compared to what... A cave in Afghanistan? Are you blind? This shop is a joke and an accident waiting to happen! If you think this shop is immaculate, then you obviously have never been to one and have no idea what the hell you're talking about.
I spotted multiple safety issues within the first few minutes of this video alone!
Amazingly sub standard 😢😢

I call B.S. on the crankshaft repair ! Good initiative but not knowing the correct timing of the broken shaft to begin with it is impossible to just weld it back together in any order.
amazing video, thank for sharing
You are amazing the best work ever seen very great 👍👍👍👍👍 I give you five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ love to see more
muy buen trabajo y muy buen profesional
How do you harden the weld that you use on the crankshaft or do you not bother about it.
There is a very big risk of arc welding causing significant distortion. You will need to find out what weld preparation is required to get the necessary penetration. The electrode that you use will have to be matched with the crankshaft metallurgy, and there will have to be some sort of preheating of the crankshaft to minimise any chilling effect of the welding process.
All in all, it would be a complex process, not a simple one of pulling an arc and welding it together.
😂😂 I don’t think they care who in there right mind would weld a crank won’t last long time wasted better spent finding a replacement
Excelente video y muy clara la explicación,,,
Brother I just wanted to say what an excellent job, you are first class all the way if you only had modern equipment you would be KING!!!!!
Excellent job under, by Western standards, somewhat primitive conditions, Full marks to these fitters. I did not see how they aligned the Rod Journal Throw before welding. Great work though lads. Cheers from Michael. Australia.
It's the 3rd time Mr Jalin Rabei welds this crankshaft this year.
jestes dobrym fachowcem , tylko mogbys czesciej uzywac czujnika
way to go good engineering no proper tools basic skills we a[[ need to learn awsome people we need to give these people respect
first time i ever saw some one in India use a center drill. Never see a indicator or a live center. I would imagen they would be fairly cheep there. It would make there life so much easer. it is amazing what they do with what they have.
Super top parabéns gostei 👏❤
I can’t see that crankshaft staying together
I like video, interesting, and without advertising.
As for me, I will wake up tomorrow morning, exercise and appreciate life for the wonderful blessing that it is. I hope you do the same and have a great day too!
Thanku
😮 Sei BRAVISSIMO
Nice ❤
Yor video is very good
True professtional.
mantap bang
Mantap asli gais❤
Crank shaft made from gray cast iron. How do you machine gray cast iron? You can grind gray cast.
You have to wonder if that crank shaft had a bearing oil hole at the end it sure didn't show one when he was finished and so is that engine if put back together that way with no oil to that bearing, lol.
Nice👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
he is welding with rutile , is not correct by engine part
Very Good job!
C’est excellent 👍👏🏻
Muy Buen video good job buddy I'm very proud of you
52:36 If he had been able to use spray welding, could he have saved a lot of time and maybe money, but great job!
I'll give them credit for being willing to try anything. I want follow up reports from the users.
Those guy would be unstoppable if they had a press.
Watching that axle wobble after he welded it makes me wonder if they auctualy use these parts or is it just for the videos. They are very clever repairs. I bet TH-cam pays more than they make on the repair
How come the cutting blades are brazed on instead of just welding them on
never set timing for 1 & 4 rod. i can see it is not straight, you will never get 4 to fire on timing
cooling...
E verdade que o pião come a coroa 👑😛😛🇧🇷
Earthing that crankshaft thru the lathe will play havoc with its bearings
Not going to finish it I have heard of this but never seen it done and work you ibolt crank in won’t turn
Engine work is an art but people tend to think everything needs to be built to aircraft/Formula 1 Racing standards, but these guys do this day in and day out, so it must work. Props for working with what they have. Great content
Nota 1000000000❤
👍🇧🇷
Eyvallah.
that crankshaft will work for about 10 seconds, if at all.
they welded up the oil passage....
That crankshaft repair was precise! NOT!!
Very skilled if the repairs hold up . But no safety classes and long sleeves very dangerous more than once I’ve gotten hit straight to my glasses with hot steel chips 🙏
Buen trabajo felicitaciones
🇷🇺
How about indexing the crankshaft and no stress relieving?? Hmmmmm
that driveshaft will undoubtedly work until the first time a real load is put on it...
mui buenooooo
I like your content, but your hollering voice, is rough to listen to. Thanks for your video.
The video is just for the show. You couldn't possibly use those part's again 😂😂
Me gusta

I WONDER HOW LONG HE THINKS THAT WILL LAST???WHAT KIND OF WARRANTY DO YOU GET??? 100000 MILES???
Last long enough to make it worth. Money is big problem there
you never show the crashes. i,m not learning
