Freewing F9F-8 Cougar Super Scale 80mm EDF - Model AV8R Scale Flights No. 2

Amazing New Scale Jet! In Model AV8R episode 95, we feature the new Freewing 80mm F9F-8 Cougar in the latest installment of our "Model AV8R Scale Flights" series. From taxi out to taxi in, Adam will fly the Cougar as realistically as possible. The goal is to mimic the full scale aircraft being displayed at an airshow. Enjoy!

Absolutely brilliant flight Adam and great to see the series continue. My wife has no interest whatsoever in RC flying and whenever I watch a video it's usually accompanied by "Well that's just silly, real planes don't fly like that" After this video she said "Now that looked like a real plane" The highest complement you will ever receive my friend 😁👍

Brilliant scale flight. Even the taxi was scale. Thanks for telling us the history of these planes, that means alot to me. After all we as pilots think we are flying real planes. At least I do. Love to see ya fly that b 25 mitchel one of my favorite short range bombers. But I don't have one and neither do you. Another day my friend. Thanks for showing your skills and passion, we love it.

This is definitely if not the best of the Freewing jets. My closest comparison would be their F22. It has a wide flight envelope, a great profile in the sky, tons of maneuverability, and is just plain easy to get comfortable with. Its become one of my daily go to fliers and the new power system has tons more oomph for carrier ops.
Great scale presentation and flying Adam. I would expect nothing less from you even after only a few flight but this plane sure makes it easy!

Thanks for the great flight of a great model of a great plane from a great company. I think Grumman had some of the best designers ever working on their cats. Very nice flying and 'air show' you both put on for us! I like the idea of your "scale flights" series. If I watch a 'scale model' fly - the more it portrays the flight of the full size aircraft, the better I like it. And I really appreciate the overall presentation. I can actually SEE your plane the whole time. Some videos have a plane that just turns into a tiny dot much of the time and that gets old. Excellent! (Now Scott knows how it's done.)

Hey thanks man! I'm really glad you like the series. It is a very important part of our channel to me. I love to fly scale, and to be honest, you just don't see it done much...or well on YT. Everybody wants to 3D everything. I enjoy that as well from time to time, but like you, I really like to see a scale model presented like its full scale counterpart sometimes too.

WHY am I only just seeing this NOW !!!! - Adam need you Honest Opinion - is it good on grass Ops you know the field I fly from and how does it handle ?? - its on my TO GET list but would welcome your comments before I do splash out.. thanks Martyn

Hey Martyn! Man it is a great jet. The grass at your field seems to be pretty thick. I think the wheels could handle it, but where I think you'd have an issue is with the main gear doors. That is the thing with a lot of military planes that grabs the grass. You could remove the gear doors and you might be alright, but then it doesn't look the same.
