    hey my friend I don't think this would work as good as it did when I first started but at the time it was the right thing to do under the right circumstances I don't think this approach would work for everybody but it worked for me at the time with the product that I was selling.it was just sitting on the shelf and nobody was messing with it. I would recommend now that everybody make sure they have the products before they put it on eBay...SOMETIMES DESPERATE people do desperate things :))) thanks for watching my friend

      +Richard McGee Hey Richard i am making the same thing now i start producing leathers items with partner. Now i got problem with European Paypal they wont let me sell anything that is hand made and very expensive. For example recently we were selling hand made items that fit certain cars and motorbikes as BMW , Ducati, Minicooper and Mercedes and many more made out of carbonfiber. But our items does not have brands. So they locked thousands of USD in our European paypals. Now i opened with partner company in USA to avoid that and guess what we dont have problem. The brand risk managment from Dublin are really bad people. My question IS: I have 15 working Shops in EBay with 100% feedback and all paypals were locked. Do you think i can connect those ebay stores to the company in USA withtout locking the company Paypal. This is very critical thing for us did you had some kind of same experiance. Best regards from Bulgary.

    That method is akin to "drop shipping". They buy it for you!
    But with paypal holding money back until the item arrives, it is kind of difficult to do this. Buyers are VISCOUS at times. If you dont ship on the day that you say you will, bad things happen...
    But I do agree with your philosophy. Keep it up!

    Great video Richard! I plan to watch some more tonight. I thought it was real encouraging when you point out the low overhead to get started. My biggest fear when I first started was spending too much on shipping supplies.It seems to me that the shipping discounts you get help to cover those costs. Once I got an inventory of what I was going to sell for the month or week I would buy my supplies accordingly. I have also started using ANY box that I could ship something in. Sometimes I have to wrap them with brown paper when needed. Some folks really dig it. They see it as helping out on the environment.

    if you go to condo loading docks and their large garbage bins you will find something to sell on ebay. apartment buildings and condos are great because you have hundreds of homes dumping their old stuff in the same area. I found a baby stroller, bbq, dressers, mirrors, laptops, paintings, old tv's, car seat, speakers, and other items in and around condo dumpsters. Some people call it garbage picking, I call it treasure hunting.

      Also if u have a storage unit you'll notice that people leave good stuff near the trash area when they're moving out of their unit.

    • @smirkingdevil
      @smirkingdevil 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is called trespassing and I escort the people that do that in my complex off the premises. Ah, the joys of having a unit next to a dumpster and listening to idiots rummage through our trash. You are stealing when you do things like that. Our trash rates are governed by recyclables. The less recyclables the trash company funds in our dumpster, the higher our rates. Thank you for stealing from those of us in major complexes.

    • @THISshowSUX
      @THISshowSUX 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +smirkingdevil you are messed up lady. I didn't say anything about the recycling bins, the stuff I get wouldn't end up in a recycling plant. and most of the things I find are on my own property. I live in a large 4 building complex. we even have an area for furniture to be picked up by pickers to save dumpster space.

    • @smirkingdevil
      @smirkingdevil 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Primal 420 Thanks to the brain trust that runs California, ALL of our garbage is sorted for recycling at garbage facilities. Californians pay up front for everything to be recycled later. Anything taken out of a garbage bin is theft while on private property. This is why the city of Pasadena now offers lockable garbage bins to its residents for when the bins are placed on public streets for collection. People wanted recycling, so now they get to live with other people taking unsecured garbage and earing money that the community counted on for revenue. As for leaving out things to be taken, you are opening yourself to unwanted attention. Why are you not supposed to feed raccoons? Because they will tear your house apart when you stop. Same goes for humans. Good luck with your dumpster diving guests.

    • @THISshowSUX
      @THISshowSUX 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +smirkingdevil I live in Canada, this entire country has the equivalent population of California. Garbage isn't a problem here yet, our laws aren't as strict as California's. People pick up other peoples garbage all the time here its quite normal. we even put up free stuff(garbage) ads for unwanted items. Sounds crazy that California residents get charged a fee for not having enough waste.

    Thanks for sharing this video. I am a newbie at this.
    One concern I wanted to share and get some of your feedback is that I am from Toronto, Canada. We got Ebay.ca/amazon.ca but I think its dead. Not much activity going on there. Also If I post there, I will be at a considerable disadvantage since buyers in USA will have to pay heavy shipping cost. I looked up etsy and other but I dont think they hold up as much traffic. I googled and found some big and small sites that already have things for discounted prices. I feel a little overwhelmed.
    How should I look up some heavy traffic sites in Toronto area. Are you aware or recommend any?
    Also, when you post something on Ebay, I guess the returns must not be that great. Cos....
    Cos I am wondering, shipping cost + packaging cost + ebay fees, wouldnt that offset the profit. How much would you end up making?
    For example, unless you buy something more than 50% off you wouldnt be able to make a tangible profit right?
    So basically, If I buy a $100 stuff for $50 (ie 50% off). I can put it on sale for $75 (being reasonable), to make a $25 profit. Am I correct?
    Please provide some feedback.
    Thanks

    Absolutely, brilliant. I am trying to sort what to sell on ebay to make me $2500 per month. I'm not asking a great deal from ebay and right now all I have is designer named clothes that I purchase for $1 at the goodwill or gently used clothes friends have donated to me. I've sold nothing so far, but I've only been at this for a month. I'm thinking about moving to toys or costume jewelry. But then I heard that selling CBD oil and hemp oil is the next big things, but I have no idea how to get into that. I have subscribed to you even though this video is five years old. Hopefully I will find some useful updated things on your channel. ~Smile!

    That’s what I did this past week. Except I work at a store and these Jars are priced decently. I took a pic. Posted it when it sold, I went and bought it. Made a little profit from it. :) but I would be scared to keep doing it. What if the product was no longer available?

    How do you resell an item that is known about at a store and flip it for very high to make profit on ebay? Without dropshipping I don't know how you would do this for up to 94,000 dollars.

    • @RichardMcGee14
      @RichardMcGee14  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Chandler C easily....this is the key: EVERY ITEM THAT IS SOLD IN some STORES MAY NOT BE SOLD everywhere in the world....make it happen my friend 😁

    I thought of that same idea man. Taking pics at the thrift store and listing the item before actually buying the product. One problem with that though, your item sells and when you come back, the item is gone. Negative feedback.
    So unless you could find a way to hide your item or have an employee hold onto it for you, then this method wouldn't be of much help.

    • @RichardMcGee14
      @RichardMcGee14  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      master...no...its not from the thrift store that it would work...retail...a different situation though :)))
      thanks for watching :))

    • @MasterBudono
      @MasterBudono 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Richard McGee No problem, but do store employees save product for you? I mean, what if you go back and it's gone? How would you tell an eBay customer that you sold something to that you don't have it? Thanks!

    • @MasterBudono
      @MasterBudono 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I agree, I thought of that idea a while back as well, so it's kinda cool to see other people think like that. But it's quite unlikely that you'd sell each and every item that quick. Some items takes days, weeks, to even months to sell. So if you keep doing that, you might get a buyer, and when you go back and the item is long gone, you'll probably get negative feedback. So I don't really think it's worth the risk. I think it's better off waiting for half-off days at thrift stores and using coupons for cheap inventory, that way you minimize risks of losing money by maybe not making a sale.
      I just purchased $60 worth of clothes at my local goodwill for $40, got some really nice brands that my man ***** put me on. Saved 20 bucks by signing up with their store. Hope to make some good cash!
