Huge score of copper in these and dehumidifiers. After taking off the copper coil ends on the radiators I still have 4.2 lbs. of copper/aluminum radiators.
I cut open 42 compressors..out of all that, 1 was aluminum windings, one was copper/aluminum. For those that say they aren’t worth cutting open, I got more for the empty casings (minus the copper) as shred, then I would have got for a sealed unit😁 great video Tin Man
6:18 and 16:50 I don't think you can just clean those copper pieces and turn it in as number 1. They had oil and chemicals in them that you can't clean off. It might get some off if you rinse it or soak it, but it's still going to be all over it from the freon. Technically that's all number 2 don't matter if you clean it or not because it will still be contaminated copper. All copper in an air conditioner, refrigerator, or dehumidifier is ALL NUMBER 2 COPPER. It's contaminated from chemicals that cannot be cleaned off to become number 1 unless it's been melted down and purified through a smelting process. ❤❤❤ I know you might just rinse it and or try to thoroughly deep clean it and turn it in as number 1, but your giving all your followers incorrect information and it is technically illegal to knowingly do it and then inform others that it's ok to do. It's all number 2 copper in those units.
Hi there. Watching from Saskatchewan.

Very Cool
Sweet! Thanks for sharing!

Yup, 100% agree.
At my scrap yard, aluminum motors and transformers are aluminum breakage, which is more than scrap.
Get the brass off the bottom center sleeve of the comprese
I live in Lawton Oklahoma and luckily you do not have to have a license.
Good to hear. Thanks for the comment. Stay well.
If you need to be an HVAC tech to cash them in, then just take the time to pull all the copper out.
Saskatoon 😅
