Never seen anyone else duck dive a 15 plus wave. best turns, biggest airs, best barrels, rides big waves like it's a walk in the park, like he rides small waves. best style. what else?
@@gustavomarques704 for sure he does. But I’ve never seen a bigger air than JF…. For me big straight airs are the best. And to my point he’s the only guy that can do all that stuff but dominates in big waves. If he was to become a big wave only surfer he would be the best at that too. He’s just a freak who was lucky enough to grow up in a place where all types of waves are available including the best ones and the biggest ones
@@SDA7337 I'm brazilian and to me JJF is the best surfer out there, i agree with almost everything you said, but i'll have to disagree on the biggest air. Medina did the biggest air EVER on competition, don't remeber where. But it's just shocking how high and foward he flew into the air. Another two great surfers to watch are Ethan Ewing and João Chianca, those guys will have their place on tour very soon. But still, JJF is the number one.
Johns feeling for the wave is just insane. Slowing down, speeding up, stalling just the right nanosecond, generating speed like it's nothing. And making it all look so easy. An artist in the waves.

I saw Sean Thompson, Jock Sutherland, Gerry Lopez, Barry Kanaiapuni, Mark Richards, Peter Townsend, Billy Hamilton, Eddie Aikau, Andy and Bruce surfing in Hawaii. JJF is tops. And how about that air ? Sheesh ! So cool, so functional, he just continued after landing it ! !
This is bigger than surfing , its literally art . It is like John and the wave are telling a story . with his incredible elegance, impossible moves and god given mutant talent level JJF, is the best surfer of his generation , bar none.
I think i could watch John surf for hours with nice music playing in the background like that. Something special is happening when he is on a wave. Its different to any other surfer on the planet.
I really love that round house cutback it's the Pic of the vid on u tube so much poise and style super control and timing just the love for surfing shows big to me in that turn wow John super mad respect 🙏
There is the uncertainty of quality waves for scheduled contests, the ridiculousness of surfing for points, being judged by individuals who are part of a partisan/corrupted system, and then there are these pics of surfing at its best. A joy to watch. Witnessing John in the flow..beyond incredible. Thank you, many many times thank you.🙂
