Nice video, I dont think vertical photo support is needed. Just shoot 4:3 and crop. A firmware update will just crop the sensor anyway. If you use the grid lines and frame properly you’ll be fine.
Hi got my air 3 two weeks ago fantastic drone. Bought you cheat sheets they are great. Quick question as can't see on sheets do you have white balance on auto or locked in. In pro mode? Cheers

The 70mm camera is a game changer. I was seriously considering adding the Mavic 3 Pro to my drone "hanger" not for the 144mm camera, but for the 70mm one. The only thing holding me back was the price. I just could not justify that price for the drone and fly more kit as a serious hobbyist; at half the price the Air 3 is more than worth the amount paid. I also have to give DJI for adding many of the new features that appeared in the Mavic 3 Pro & Mini 4 Pro to the Air 3. This makes it an even greater value. Thank you for putting out this follow-up video on such a great piece of hardware.
The 70mm really is ! Such a great drone now and I hope the 70mm never goes away
Thanks so much for all your efforts in putting your videos together!! My concern about the AIR 3; nighttime flying!! Recently, while flying at night the AIR 3 was amazing not a problem!! The drone returned to home because of "low" battery! Upon replacing the battery the drone took off as normal then decided to head to the Gulf of New Mexico; 1500 miles away! Suggestion: a video on nighttime flying; Please!!

There's no need for vertical photo support as the full sensor is read when capturing still images in 4:3... so if you want vertical photo, you just crop in post. For video it makes sense because the sensor isn't fully read when using the 16:9 ratio.
I'm with you, the DJI Air 3 was my favorite drone of 2023. And the 3x camera makes it a much more useful tool for photos and video. Great video, thanks for sharing.
I have brought this air3 and im a beginner flyer and i must say its so easy to use. As we llive on a large acreage i love capturing landscape, cattle, tractor work as well as checking fences, water troughs and pigs for hunting. Am wanting to ask about retrieving my videos on computer. I do however have a old laptop and finding that the play back is well non existent. What would i need to actually see what i video. Some guidance would help a lot. A link for nd filters would help as well. Btw i watch all your videos , keep up the good work. ❤

Overall - a good video, thank you. However one segment confuses me. At approx: 3:40 you are talking about optical focus/ and maybe zoom, but then the examples shown provide digital zoom examples. Care to clarify? Also when I look at the specs from DJI website, I see no mention of optical, only digital. Thanks.

Do you have a tutorial video for flying the DJI Air 3? I came here looking for more info on how to fly this drone. I don't have a lot of experience with DJI, the drone I own is a Parrot and I wonder how the controls are different. A friend has asked me to fly their DJI drone for a video shoot.

I’m new to drone flying with a mini 3 pro and was thinking of upgrading to a mini 4 pro but now wondering whether I should skip straight to an Air 3 and get the benefits of a better camera and being able to fly more when winds have been an issue with a sub 250g drone? I only picked up the air 3 in december last year after Retiring my Mavic 2 pro!! So far i am impressed i do think the camera feels a little soft in comparision to my mav 2 , But i really could not justify the price of the Mavic 3 which i would have loved to get!!! also I had heard many horror storys about the Rc having connection issues!!
I honestly can't believe how long the batteries last in this thing. 35+ is real and I almost run out of things to do with it in the air for such a long time.3X Tele-Hyperlapse videos are my favorite!

My take on the current drone offerings ( if you're a photographer and/or videographer):
For traveling, by all means, get the Mini 4 Pro. The Mini 3 Pro will also give great performance for a tighter budget.
For average/hobby: The Air 3 is currently the mid-tear flagship.
For yet a more professional demand: The Mavic 3 Pro is your dear friend, and if you're not in a hurry, wait for the Mavic 4 Pro, which will probably be an amazing drone, and an expensive one too..

Q: I need some help. Air 3, I can only get 1X -3X zoom in camera mode. I’ve seen videos where there are able to get 6-9X by pressing the 3X and able to zoom more. However, I’m getting the following message (not able to zoom in this mode)

The stacked sensor makes it just as good if not better than the 1inch sensor.
Recently i bought air 3 on my rc FWD BWD sancer shows red even drone sancer response but that red mark not turn in to white how to do it red to white please reply sir

you can get away with these but the D-log M is slightly different on both drones but you may just have to adjust the intensity more or less

I think Video wise, it seems the Air 3 beats the others in value for money, but if your main aim is photography, I feel the Mavic 3 Pro beats this hands down, the mail Hasselblad camera just cant be topped for photos.

Lack of explorer mode so you can switch cameras whilst recording is for me the one thing that lets it down. Unless that comes with an update I will probably move on to a different drone.
On my list to buy... As someone that has only had smaller drones in the $100 range, your videos are very educational. Going to be traveling all over Europe this summer and really want something to capture all the amazing stuff I'll see. Thanks!

Having the Mavic 3 Pro and Air 3, I miss the 70mm whenever I fly the Mini 4 Pro, as great as it is, the 70mm on those 2 spoil all other drones, and having the 3-9x (Digital) zoom available in Waypoints, it's just a fantastic creative tool.
It's the most flown drone I own!
They better never remove that 70mm in future versions.... unless they want to increase it to 120mm 👀

I don't think there is a huge market for that in the uk mini 3 pro / 4 for no restrictions pay a little extra and get the Mavic classic

Dagggonit Darren. Now I have to get the Air-3. I'll sell my Air-2S. Perfect condition w/5 batteries, controller, Full set of Freewells, + Freewell ND 1500 and 1000. landing legs, 6 sets of props. Pop guard. I think $700 is fair. I have the Mini-3Pro, Mini-2 Mav 3Pro, Mav 2 Pro, 2 Avata, DJIFPV. Great video as always.

Currently lightcut doesn’t allow custom luts but i have suggested to DJI to add it

How hard was it being a newbie? I'm also a newbie, & I bought the AIR 3 Fly More Combo, & Mini 4 Pro with RC 2 Controller, & Fly More+Battery kit. I haven't flown either yet, because of the weather. I do plan.on.buying the Care Refresh plans for both before flying either. I feel really intimidated, & think I might have bitten off, more than I can chew.
@@johnmajka5404 They are easy to operate, but I remember I was blown away when I saw in person how techy the Air 3 was. It did help though that I watched TH-cam tutorial videos. One thing that got me though was I relied too heavily on obstacle avoidance. It is great, but at night , of course it doesn't work. I think you will do just fine!😄 Have fun flying>

The Air 3 is one of the best drones that I have owned. I also have the Mini 4 Pro and its a great drone as well but that great in windy conditions along the coast.
It's my favorite drone now.The size and battery life are awesome. Video quality is very impressive.

I just bought one and will be getting my first drone which is dji air 3 here in Scotland in Inverness. Was going for mini 4 pro but changed my mind after watching your videos and for better wind resistance. Your videos are great.

Already owning the Mini 4 Pro, it would be great if it was possible just to buy the drone, batteries and charging cradle, without any controller. Don't need a second one.

This is my first drone. I believe this drone will serve me for a loooong time.
Air 3 is getting more flight time than my Mavic 3 Pro. Although sometimes I do miss the variable aperture.
You have produced a lot of interesting and educating videos. But..... those videos dedicated to a specific drone... I skip them. Likely wrong but if You would make videos addressing "all drones", general videos, I'll surely watch them.
I bought one last month and have no regrets... but it is worth mentioning one BOMBSHELL OF A CON is that you can't switch between the two cameras while recording. You have to stop recording, pull up the other camera, then resume the recording.
That happens on the mavic series too

It’s my home surfing and drone video location. There’s no shortage of surfing friends wanting to be captured while they’re on a good wave.
Your wish list especially variable aperture, I don't think that will come anytime soon, why would DJI undermine the Mavic series, doesn't seem to make sense. It's a great drone, well featured but I've got my mini 3 pro and dont' really want (or can) to spend another £1,300 for an incrementaly better but not that amount of money better drone.
I’m hopefully that any new Mavic series will be a full frame so a big difference from an air series - time will tell
I usually fly freestyle, but there is something to say for cinematic flying and hovering. Its your fault! Just purchased this Air 3 unit. Also, purchased your LUTs and cheat sheet. Its obvious you put some quality effort into your products and review.

After 3 week of air3 use I dont think 70mm is incredible.
In low light conditions air3 footage is not upto the mark.

You must be getting paid by DJI. The 48meg camera for stills is crap in high contrast conditions. The noise goes through the roof. I have the emails to prove it with my conversations with DJI. Plus I got a full refund. Do not lead people a stray. I am a award winning photographer and Teach Photoshop. I even bought software to deal with the noise and it could not handle the noise. I had the A3 for over three months and tried every trick in the book to deal with the noise. I did get some great shots but the work to get it clean was crazy. I spoke to DJI by phone at first I wanted and got a replacement A3. and DJI admitted there could still be problems. I was willing to try anything. I wanted it to work. If you want good stills get a Mavic 3 series. Everything else with the A3 is good. If you are a snapper its a great drone. One last thing.There are many other photographers that have said they also had the same problems.

Love this video, especially this review for the mighty Air 3~ Recently there're a lot flooded vlog videos about the Mini 4 Pro no matter what about the updating firmwear for RC2, or the firmwear update for DJI Fly app, huge numbers of the TH-camr uses the Mini 4 Pro for the example, OMG, for those who don't like the Mini 4 Pro it was a very boring and not interesting video for them~ Why don't you TH-camrs won't using the Air 3 as the presentation model for the RC2 firmwear update or the DJI Fly App updating? Pls concern about those who owned the drones other than the Mini 4 Pro~ may be you make a RC2 or DJI Fly app's firmwear update videos with the Air 3 next time, many thanks~ In personally point of views, the Mini series was not my cup of tea, really really really true~
🚁 While I appreciate the DJI Air 3’s impressive telephoto lens and the convenience of its USB-C charging system that also serves as a power bank, I’m particularly drawn to creating cinematic content around specific subjects, like buildings or statues, using the spotlight feature. However, I’ve noticed a recurring issue that’s affecting my shots. When using spotlight to lock onto a subject, there’s a noticeable shift in the frame a few seconds after selection. This happens right before I initiate a circling movement or any other maneuver around the subject, leading to an unintended centering adjustment that shifts my intended composition. Spotlight often doesn’t center the subject and sometimes goes flying off onto a ghost subject.
Does anyone else face similar challenges with their Air 3 when using the spotlight feature for precise subject tracking? It feels like a slight but significant disruption in what could be seamless cinematic content. Curious to hear if this is a common issue or something unique to my experience. 🤔
