  • A great video where Jon reviews the data and details from our Concrete with Sugar experiments. Strap yourself in for an awesome ride through the data and the interpration at that data. We are excited for you to watch this video and understand the impact of sugar in fresh and hardened concrete.
    Also, here is a link to our video on the experiments that we ran:

    Using Euro recover to do an overlay in South Florida in the Summer. It is around 90 degrees f and high humidity. I will try and get to it when it is in the low to mid 80s early on. A bag of Euro recover is 40 lbs. I would like to know if you have a reccomendation on how much sugar to add per 40 lbs. This stuff sets very fast and I really need some time to get it down. I will be adding ice cubes into the water to assist. Any thoughts? The overlay is only 1/8 thick. Thank you

    I’m watching a ton of your sugar videos and I’m getting confused. I have a very very long DIY wrap around bar top to make and was thinking of a retardant to help with work time. I’m worried I’ll add too much sugar and compromise strength so how do I properly calculate per bag of concrete?

      Run smaller scale tests and time how long it takes to get to a setting strength with different amounts of sugar. Then scale up.
      I would start with 20 lb batch of concrete and at 20 g of sugar increments.

      Try 1 bag of cement = 24 grams of sugar or 1/4 US cup

      1 bag/40kg of cement = 1/4 US cup of sugar or 24 grams of sugar

    So sugar is bad to add?

    • @IntelligentConcrete

      No RJ. Just had when it’s an unplanned addition. Practice before the jobsite with amounts that will get you the desired results.

    What kind of sugar did you use? :)

    Hypothesis: add sugar will slow the cure in order to have INCREASE strength in the long run....?

      Please Doctor can you make a videos of how to make acid stain

    • @IntelligentConcrete
      @IntelligentConcrete  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but be cognizant of how much you add, too much can cause the concrete to fall asleep for a long long time.

      Can do.
