I love that sequence of Grian stealing Scar's hat and then Mumbo retrieving it for Scar just to put it on his own head, that's so them. And the ending-

It's spectacular the things you guys make and this is amazing.
It is kinda neat how a lot of the fanart of these guys has moved totally beyond any semblance of “canon,” and is built on layers of other fanart to make its own semi-canon. Never seen that happen before. I’m sure it has, I’ve just never seen it before.

I love how in the beginning Grian and Scar are like feisty siblings, it's so cute
Also how dare you yank at heartstrings I didn't know existed! Grian deforming back into his regular self, mournful of the watcher inside him, and Scar looking away, unable to fire that arrow, and them all curling up in bed together, and Mumbo being a parent-like guardian because that's just him, and the crossed out G and WATCHER, good heavens...

Aoww, I'm chuffed to bits. There are too many good ideas and designs that I like about this video that I had to watch it a few times over.
1. Muppet Joe continues on his legacy. (✊)
2. Hot guy!! 🏹 🔥 Also, Scar was shown his win and kills done in Secret Life when he was blinded, he would've gotten up otherwise. 💪
3. Scar's leg brace and how he puts hands in his pockets are subtle, but awesome elements that add on to his dope outfit.
4. Adore how Grain is portrayed as a harpy figure, it makes a lot of sense for his character. Grains biblically accurate/thousand pierced/watcher form is also a slick way to percieve him as well.
5. I enjoy how Mumbo gets over his fears via his friends and shots in which they hang out together are very sweet.
Alright, but can we please talk about how adorable Grian, scar and Mumbo are here?😭😭😭❤ you just realize how tall mumbo is, when he stands next to them and it's really the most adorable thing!!!

I watched this like 20 times over and over. I love your interpretation of Grian. You are a magician… I don’t know how you did it but amongst those frames you got their personalities and their relationships with each other absolutely spot on without them needing to say a word. I love this sooo much!

i thought this released ages ago and i didnt see until now! not 16 hours ago! i only realised because i thought there was a strange lack of compliments in the comment section.
but okay ill start!
the art style is amazing (the almost scratchy? but clean lines? you shouldnt have! it itches my brain) it feels so fluid in places and i love how almost old disney-esque it feels and lines certain movements like the whole sequence of mumbo taking scars hat off grians and then going to put it on scars head only to put it on his own was so them and so fun! this is my favourite animation of the three and i cant believe, to emphasise, this came out so recently!! the little intro with the pen moving around was also so interesting to follow
to add, the end is adorable and made my chest go fuzzy :))

Love Mumbo being British with the tea at the end (might not be just a british thing, but people dont use the little plates where i live)
As a tea drinking English human, I can say you generally don't see saucers (the little plates that hold cups) except in coffee shops or restaurants. Maybe if someone has posh nan or something she'd have some, but people don't usually just use those even here, too much effort tbh. I think my family owns like one but we use it as the cat's food bowl lmao
So yeah, you'd see them used in a costa or somewhere similar but as a general household item they're not so widely used anymore. When they're used in coffee shops and stuff they usually have things like the drink, a teaspoon, a little packet of sugar or two, and sometimes but not usually, one of those little dipping sauce-esque plastic pots of milk so you can put in extra if that's how you like it
Curious now to know how drinks are served in coffee shops where you are which I'm assuming is America. Are saucers just not a thing there? Also do you actually really just not all have electric kettles?? Because apparently americans don't usually own them and I promise you electric kettles are so worth owning. (sorry if you're not american and I'm assuming but considering we're both speaking English and you're clearly not a brit it's the safest bet)

This is a wonderful amv. I watched it more than once and at a slower speed just to try and notice all the small bits here and there. I love that friendly yet playful banter between them you depicted-we all can see G take something from Scar and Mumbo takes it back, but uses instead of handing it straight back to Scar. That is very true to their dynamic most of the time.
Oh my gosh, the goggles kept Mumbo from getting infected or influenced by the watchers. Like poor Scar was after looking into G's watcher form's main eyes. I could totally see Mumbo having something like that just for that occasion. Something he no doubt fashioned for such a scenario.
This was wonderfully drawn and animated. I love the style of it-it reminds me of that old music video for Take On Me. The details and the story were captivating to watch. Just bravo! Bravo!

This is so fucking good! I could sit here for hours and watch it over and over. I can't tell why they have the goggles though, other than Something happens when you meet Watcher eyes? I'm so curious about this whole concept and I'm eating it right up.
I’ll make a post with more on the Watcher design soon, but you’re right! Temporarily looking into a Watchers eyes causes headaches and blurry/blinded vision, long term eye contact can result in memory loss and nightmarish hallucinations. Mumbo developed the goggles so he could retrieve Grian safely when he’s in this state, but poor Scar just got hit with a really bad migraine

I keep seeing stuff with Grian being some kind of bird shaped god/guardian beast thing and I have no idea where that came from. Is it some kind of fanfic? I would like to know more if you have a moment.

The TL:DR is that if you watched the DSMP, it’s kind of like the Dream and DreamXD situation, where a character has a “god form.”
SO There’s more in depth lore out there, but I believe it started with Grian’s Evo SMP days and they would call the audience “Watchers.” When Grian left, he became a Watcher, and over the years that’s taken on its own lore life with the fans, with Grian and Martyn adding some pieces themselves. Now the Watcher is an inter dimensional being whose job is to watch over timelines, but not interfere. The story from here deviates from fan to fan, but in my interpretation, I believe Grian, as a Watcher, fell through a dimensional rift and became Mortal, taking the form of a (very small) Avian. While he’s more than happy to spend his life with the Hermits, he still gets visions and sometimes loses control, turning back into his god form.
Like I said, there’s no concrete lore, but if you keep wandering through the fandom you’ll find a lot of really cool interpretations of it!
