@@briandwiggins1576 Didn't see much of him in OTAs/minicamp, but he's been involved in the RB rotation and special teams. Definitely someone worth paying attention to when training camp starts.
@@PeacefulWarrior401 I think it'll be Trey Sermon as RB2 right behind Taylor as the early-down back, but I could see Evan Hull beating out Tyler Goodson for RB3 and that passing-down role. I think Hull has a leg up in pass pro, plus the Colts will likely want to see how their draft pick pans out, whereas Goodson was a pickup.
Chemistry is so crucial…I think that the Colts are waiting to see if the free safety situation can show progress this Summer…if not, can an outsider bring not only experience but add chemistry to the group. And SIZE does matter at free-safety…you have to be a rugged hitter as well as a great coverage guy…so difficult to find these professionals. 😎🇺🇸
I just yelled "Bob Sanders!" so loudly and suddenly that my wife jumped and threw her tablet halfway across the living room. He HAS to be one of the three you guys mention.
I'm genuinely worried about outside CB1 and FS and have been all off season, I think CB1 is by far the biggest concern though, as its fairly likely Thomas rebounds or Cross becomes more consistent. I dont have that same faith in CB1. We have the short area CB2 with JuJu. Jones is a great spot starter. Flowers is incredibly versatile. Of those 3 Flowers is the fastest to keep up with a speed WR1 which the NFL is transitioning to. We dont have the deep speed, and our closest answer to that is Flowers and i think him and Jones are just great back-ups. JuJu can lockdown short area quick WR2s and bolster the run game, he doesnt have long speed. Jones is technical and seems to be able to play inside and out and Flowers is a more raw and faster, lengthier version of that. Im worried about the big plays downfield of 20+ yards and tbh if you're looking why the Colts defense was so bad in points but looked better than 28th ranked on most plays, its because we gave up the 2nd most explosive passes downfield. That tanked our PA. I really hope someone can step up, unfortunately our best Hope is Flowers taking a massive leap and thats not the most likely. I do think JuJu will develop into one of the best CB2 in the game, but again he cannot cover those hyper fast WR1s that a lot of these deep playoff teams have, like the Chiefs, Texans, Dolphins, etc. Those 1 or 2 explosive plays coukd cost a game, as we saw with the win and in loss to the Texans in week 18 with the 75TD to Nico.
Last year we ranked closed to the top of the league with sacks but we didn't have that 1 pass rusher... it was more of a group threat. Do we think Latu will add that pass rushing specialist to the game to open up more sacks for everyone since they will have to do more to defend against him potentially?
I (Jake) definitely thought long and hard about him before going with Gilmore. Prime Vontae Davis was so good. Truly a player who could take away his side of the field.
The hold up signing a star FS like Quandre Diggs, for example, would be price. As the season approaches, unsigned guys are more likely to break on the contract value.
Do you have any other Colts questions you'd like answered?!
How's Pennix doing?
Who wins RB2? I would love to see Evan hull succeed
@@PeacefulWarrior401 Me too. He seems like a great kid.

Excited to see Latu play for sure

That was my (Jake) initial answer but it seemed like cheating! Haha

Thanks to @BigCg3 and @C.Jay86 from TH-cam for your questions!
The perspective I needed today was that all of my enemies have a haunted house and raccoons infesting their attic 🙏🏼
I came away thinking the exact same thing. That's the biggest takeaway from this episode. 😅

For sure, definitely could be part of it. I don't think the Colts are dissatisfied enough yet with their options to bend on price.
Granson is a slow wideout or an undersized TE. He's not the answer.
