Day 5 of our 10 Days Wilderness Camping Escape My Wife Heather, Myself Ted Baird and our Dog Bella Get Caught in a Storm that lasts all day and night and we are forced to Camp and Paddle White water in the Heavy rain. Lots of Fun Rapids and Delicious campfire Cooking despite the rain.

You are so fortunate to have a partner, such as you have.
Without putting things out of balance, so to speak, keep doing your best with the honor and respect thing.
You two are an inspiration.
After such a rainy day, nothing better than a nice fire and a tasty and singing "calzone" with chanterelles !! Try the pan of chanterelles, here is the simple recipe: side dish for white meats such as pork or chicken; quickly clean the mushrooms under running water and then dry them with kitchen paper, cut the larger ones in half, heat the oil in a pan and brown the garlic clove; add a little chilli pepper, chanterelles and cook over moderate heat for about 5 minutes, blend with half a glass of white wine, stirring gently; add a little salt, chopped parsley and marjoram. I would give up on the first try, once I know my copilot and I don't speak the same language on water, all before it gets tougher on the rapids.
Holy smokes ! You guys had me at the edge of my seat in that whitewater. And you coordinate as a team so amazingly. Ted, Heather is fearless up there in front, her pulse rate never moved !

Ted and Heather wow that river is crazy big. You two make a great team going doun the river. Huge rocks boulders so many obstacles . watching you go Doun it is nuts.
On a canoe/camping trip, there's nothing worse than packing up wet, being wet all day and setting up wet. But you guys made it look luxurious.

I was on a two week trip in Algonquin many years ago with 4 other guys (I was soloing) and during the second week we had rain every single day, so we pitched tents in the rain, cooked in the rain, took down tents in the rain for seven days, and on the way out (Magnetawan access), the road was flooded with 8" of water. After we got out we heard on the radio that the Ministry had closed the road so whoever was still with a car in the parking area was stuck there.
Thx. And Wow crazy rain story makes for a great story at least. On WW tips that can really change the game. Ive def seen my share of rain over the yrs. Labrador raind A lot! But prob worst was North Vancouver Island while on Alone its a whole other level out there .

Ya was a lot of rain! Lol but it was warmer rain for the most part which made it more tollerable. Still had a good day thankfully 🛶

I truly felt as if I was in the canoe with you both albeit I was dry. Superb video as always. You are such a great team and worked extremely hard in the rain and did not complain at all. Disappointed your wet gear let you down. My mini Dachshund was sat on the edge of the sofa watching Bella all the time as she was on the canoe! Hey Bonnie glad u felt likenu were Along for the ride. Both Heather and I get Migraines and i agree sometimes its not possible to push through them sometimes the worst pain ever. Literally worse then breaking my ankle. But when out in the wilderness sometimes we have to move forward as long as its somewhat manageable. Heather is a trooper 👱♀️😊 thanks 4 watching
I find that when the barometer fluxuates, that's the worst time. You guys are total troopers to go camping and fight through this! When I see you camping and a storm starts to blow in, I understand how you are feeling, and sympathies with you!
Yes i agree that low pressure seems to trigger them often for Heather also. Those that dont get migraines dont understand they r from from a headache worst pain ever 4 sure.

Boy I’m glad it’s a gentle camping area…I can see you would be tepid about moving on…I agree with others…you two have very good inter action qualities…I’ve enjoyed it from the first time I met you as a team.
I just watched a vid of Les Stroud. I thought at first it was a bit much, but watching your intro with the food in the barrel it now makes sense. He lays his entire trip food out on a table of individual meal wrapped items. figures out what he will have on each day. then puts those items in a bigger bag/zip lock and markers each day on the big bag. then puts the food in the barrel last day first and so on. No dumping food in and out. Day 1 ends up on top

Wow, What an adventure. Great crew coordination whilst running fast water in deplorable conditions. Heather is a real asset to a canoe crew. I must say, I have never seen a dog riding on top of a canoe, take the rapids in stride as does Bella. Special K-9 friend and companion. To top it off... the campfire cal-zones looked amazingly delicious. Ted you are truly a lucky man, I hope you realize this. Great stuff. You and Heather are taking life for the full ride!
