I honestly have a hard time believing that the first problem will be solved even after the show. The mother seemed very reluctant in forgiving her husband and ended up taking his hand out of pressure from the audience and the show itself. She must have gone through so much and it really shows through her expressions and voice. I really feel for her. Personally, I would have advised her to divorce a long time ago or make her live with her son (and bring the daughter too of course). Why is it such a taboo to actually bring up separation or complete divorce when marriage has obviously taken a toll on one of the partners? I mean, she seems even traumatised to a certain degree and nonetheless spiteful as the MCs pointed out.
Also, when they told the old man to demonstrate his martial arts skills and he "fake attacked" Youngja. I didn't find it the least bit funny or entertaining. He just seemed like one of those little shits that teased others into fist fights in my elementary school. And I was so grateful to Sam for intervening and ACTUALLY NOT LOSING TO THE OLD MAN as I thought Youngja (and pretty much everyone else) looked uncomfortable with the situation. (I'm also glad that it ended up bringing a smile to the mum's face :D)
Still, that man was awful. He said that he hadn't intended to hurt his wife but he actually WANTED to hurt his son "so he could learn that the moves were effective". What? That's the dumbest excuse. Especially when the son isn't even interested in learning.
Another thing I hated was the "because he is my father, I've tried to take it". Just the "filial child" culture in Asia is stupid (coming from an Asian). Parents need to earn the respect as well. If they do things that literally no one asked for and no one enjoys, then they don't deserve respect imo.
