- Are the new forms that bad?? They CAN walk on water! Subject to change: A big overhaul for Shamans on the PTR for Patch 11.0.5 at the moment, mostly gameplay changes, but also with some visual changes. Updated Windfury visuals, the very much discussed new Ascendance forms and more in this video for you to see and judge. Is this Ascendance form really that bad?

I really like how passionate people still are when it comes to World of Warcraft. Even if you like the shaman changes or not, it's great to see how involved people are into this still:)

i still want a glyph that lets my shaman retain his original model, without a full transformation

Same, I would totally be cool with Ascendance being like, glowing eyes with some kind of very apparent elemental aura around you instead of a full transformation.
That’s what I was talking about. Just to have an fiery or wind/electric aura around me would be awesome. I actually expected something like that. Well 😅

Yes it is horrible. It looks like it should be a warlock or death knight spell. I want to look like I’m empowered by the elements or ascended to a half elemental form. Not looking like a deep fried clown with troll doll hair.

Keep in mind the ascendance form was originally a Twilight's Hammer thing. It looks demonic and evil because it was canonically invented by an evil organisation
@@principetnomusic right.. but player shamans have never been part of the twilight cult so it makes no sense and is very off theme. That’s one of the reasons the original form has been hated for so long, it never made sense.

the way people are complaining, this is going to be the same deal as them trying to update lightning bolt. They’re gonna take it back and we’re gonna be stuck with outdated visuals for a other 3 expansions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ohhh I remember that. I was p*ssed for quite some time when they took it back... And we have been stuck with the old animation to this day...
They should update the lightning bolt vfx again and keep it in spite of those people.
This just doesn’t speak to me as “shaman” to me. Besides that, bring back the original lightning bolt ball and update the visuals on that. That’s what I want. While we’re at it, make wrath greener again.

Forums are in a outrage. But that doesnt necessarily mean the public actually hates it. I kinda like the new forms.
How can that be impressive? It's a giant piece of crap. Why does the ascendance have to be floating? It looks really bad, even more so with the melee animations. “Awesome “… bah!
It is an okay model.... Just not for Shaman. It could be a DK or Warlock pet, or a new enemy. But they want us to play as a floating clown whose legs don't work??? Nah.
Ascendance shouldn't be some full on transformation anyway. It should just enhance our character model.

The ONLY place I've seen positive remarks is these two comments.
@@lars4422 becouse in general, people dont want their characters turn in something like this. They choose tauren, orc, dwarf to be tauren, orc or dwarf, not some kind of elemental wraith. 😅
My only complaint is the lava burst animation was better before. Now it just feels like another run of the mill spell. The old one was wholly unique to the shaman.
Sorry for late reply. Yeah, I agree with you. The new one looks more detailed and stuff, but it miss the shamanistic part of taking fire out of earth.

There is an Addon called oldgunsounds. It also changes outlaw Pistol sounds to blunderbusses. Ist great

Super Saiyan hair is very fun/cool actually, and people lack whimsy. New lava burst anim is good but they should NOT have changed the casting itself of it being pulled out of the earth? Like that was what made the cast look cool

I like the new casting(that's actually the old casting) bc it brings back racial animations and i really liked some of those.
it feels kinda clunky the way they legs stay "stucked"
I wish lightning had more particles and had an arc going from both hand to go to join in the center and then launch
Floating does that to feet I guess!
Still a lot of room for dynamic movement, especially with casting powerful spells. Id almost expect the legs to brace against the air or at least curl slightly in anticipation of releasing a spell. @DoffenGG
@newfynate4611 Yeah, really good critique. It looks like a paraplegic. The way the upper body is so dynamic, but the legs hang like dead weight.

Usually I don't complain but as a shaman lover I was so pissed by this new ascendace form that I even tried to complain at forum (thou I found out that it's impossible due to restrictions of blizz). It feels for me as witch from waycrest manor. Im not fond of old models but at least give us an opportunity to use glyphs for this spell to choose appearance

Shamans for all! Human Shamans should be a thing now imo. Its overdue. The Kul Tiras got Shamans, they should've manage to teach the other Humans by now!
And irl shamans is a historic thing as well for us real life humans. There are lots of pro arguments towards human shaman in WoW.

Yes. Yes it is. This model has nothing to do with shamanistic theme. Plus lower body is stuck, looks afwul. Also wtf did they do to lava burst visual and animations...

I like everything but the thing i wanted them to change the most, which was windfury. To me it looks exactly the same as it does on live, with a couple of visual indicators added on top. I just wanted the old tornado back but updated to modern visuals man :(. My disappointment is unmeasurable and my year is ruined.
So I have checked several races now and the update to windfury is rather significant? Its an double attack now instead of the little wind it does on live? The live one is more akin to the old one with the wind, while now it shows as an attack.
Shame you dont like it of course:( I like it windy myself! But it looks different now than on live.

Current animation: a small tornado effect on the target
New animation: actual weapon swings with enhanced, better tornado effects
@@Akihito_Kanbara because its a swirl wind effect and not the black tornado that enveloped your character before and always defined or gave enhancement its flavor, thats the point. Its also my opinion. Why would you get so mad about it.

Oh give me a break. Try playing a hunter and dealing with every god-awful looking tier set they put out for the class. You guys get one silly looking visual and it's the end of the world.

Everything else si super cool, but god what they have done with the lava burst...not the particles but the animation, taking lava out of the earth was so fkin cool and now u just cast lava like a thunder? just bring back the old animation with the new particles and it will be great, but casting it like any other spell just kills the vibe for me.
I understand that sentiment. The visuals itself is nice, but it should have kept the shamanistic design yeah, like the earth and fire together. Maybe they'll change it a bit if enough people point that out. Its a good argument really.
See a nerf coming of the new wolfs talent the new form looks cool. Anyways the time you spend in ascendant form it's nothing
Kind of disappointed by the casting animation for lava burst… Remember in legion when they added the animation for it and I thought it looked so cool, now it’s just a few hand swirls…
Yeah, they could update it with improved visuals but the same kind of animation.
I still like the original lava burst animation.
Flowing Spirit is a win for me, I'm so sick of having to manually summon spirit wolves. Just like how they fixed Earthquake to appear under the target automatically, but leaving in the old option.
Also loving the new Reincarnation animation, like the elements saying "CLEAR" 🌩 ⚡️
Lots of wolves as well with some good rng! The ankh animation is very cool for sure. Raise yourself up with THUNDER!
If enhancment and fighting close range they should have feet on the ground in my opinion. If not the feet should feel more active instead of looking like a gas station balloon guy.

The Ascendence model is not where I would have went but it is definitely an improvement. I'm not sure why the Elemental one has to be coded as Fire/Lava really, especially if they succeed in bringing back all the elements. Don't think I'm a fan of this Lava Burst. I will miss the more earthly feel of the current one but I'll probably get used to it.
Yeah, I can see why as the old one is a combination of Fire and earth, making it a bit more shamanistic. But the new visual itself in detail is really nice. But again yeah, I understand where you are coming from.
Big mistake removing the part of lifting rocks out of the earth and turning them into lava. Now it's like mages channel fireballs.

I just want a couple new Wolf forms. Wolf, Raptor, and Vulpine are great for Horde, but give us Talbuk and Ram as well, you know?
I am still waiting for the Lightning bolt to change, the current version looks to cartoony and feels like a piece of paper with lightning textures

Nothings perfect but these are massive upgrades from what we had and I'm glad they did them.
New primordial wave icon makes the spell seem way less boring as well.
It was too much Shadowlands so its kinda logical for sure! But yeah, when they do improve spell visuals its generally good imo. Wish they did it even more!
The animations aside from the ascendance forms look lovely. I think the floating snimations for casting could use a little love, and the face and hair are a bit of a miss for me personally. Hope theyre open to feedback so it turns out even better. Hope other classes (*COUGH DK COUGH*) get some love like this too.
Yeah, some tweaks here and there and it's dandy. I think they look fresh, but I understand how people can say its a bit miss.

I dont like it much. Liked old asce more, even old lava burst probably. Overall fire mage has much better fire visuals, its just juicy. And as someone already mentioned, old(classic) windfury looked so much better and impactful. Imagine getting proc with some big ass two hander back then.
Back then it would be dead mages.

Ye, it's definitely not bad..but why they decided to go with such crazy punk hair is still odd, not my cup of tea,...could at least give options at the barber shop, similarly to how you can customize demons for warlocks. Though, having different variations for the form would have been better.
Yeah, I find these kinda cool and funny myself, but they could really made three different forms to make them more distinct. Enhancement one is just a faded Resto one :P

Together we are strong! I read that too, and frankly its over the top. Its not horrible at all. I think its mostly the hair that does it.

Shaman was one of my favorite heroes in Legion.
That Ascendance looks better for some kind of demonform for warlock. Also this hair remind me banshees from Throne of Thunders.
I think it should be something like primal beast in Zerat Mortis(Shadowlands). Something like stones with elemental links between and different animals on base models.
Shaman main here: I don’t wanna transform into anything. I’m not a Druid.

They look good, hey its smth cuz we shaman looks kinda abandoned, lava burst visuals too, even tho its not even worth shooting it rn. I hope we get a much better buff for lava burst in a few patches. Its unplayable. Echoing strike was really amazing to play for triple the lava burst shooting in shadowlands. I miss those days

Yeah finally new lava burst, they should make a glyph for old one though and also keep the current part of animation (taking lava from earth thing). That new forms are arguably fine, just make a glyph again and solve the problem.
But what i really want now, is to change that lightening bolt, need and update (again😂) but i prefer the first one from vanilla than the second and current.
Glyph is a good idea indeed. Also for lava burst perhaps, I do like it, but I see its too far away from the old one which is more shamanistic.

i could tolerate the undead banshee form but the hair from behind (you know the place i have to see it from) its like a solid cylindrical cone or smth with 2d hair skirt. and only the upper body moving is so goofy. and windfury has me staring at the screen because it looks just like thralls windfury from hots (which is the place they took sundering too from lol)

It looks fine from the front but insane when you look from the top back side on your char mostly the hair are way too pronounced.
Like the one in front of you in the cinema is half a meter taller than you and you cant see shit? :-)

@@DoffenGG would been cooler to keep the old form but just upptate the visuals and make the appearance a bit more colorful to match the game as it is today. The hair for me ruins it all. I am a enchancment shammy and this will be a nightmare to play with haha. The hair looks like a troll doll from the 1900s
@@lucasburghardt7955 Yeah, I see more people mention the hair being a bit problematic. I find it kinda fun personally, but I think if I were to change it up would be to make the face bigger, with a bit less hair. It would make it look more normalized. And for enchancement I would make a new design completely. Inspired by feral spirit, but in a humanoid form. Not a Worgen no :p

I think it's cool, but the problem is it doesn't fit all races. It fits trolls for example, but they have no link to orcs
Really troll-like yeah. Its the same issue balance druids got as Moonkin doesnt really fit all. I like how the Zandalari Troll got the other boomkin-form, and I think all should get the same treatment. Shamans as well.
outside of the face the forms are 100% orc coded basically frostwolf armor
Im new to wow; I thought it was really cool, thought it was a cool new mechanic. Turns out its just a decent reskin of me on a monday morning.
How I feel right now
The only thing i didn't like is new animation on windstrike, it looks too simple and boring compared to previous animation, where you had two wind arcs launching at your target
If you can stay in that form as long as you want bam shamans will be happy.
No need to ever buy a transmog set again!

Shamans are really shiny! From a base point as well. I should really play it more as I do love the lightning effect. I play Hunter mostly myself were visuals isnt exactly their forte :P

I think shamans need to sit down and appreciate where they are right now. Constant gameplay updates, new updated visuals, insane damage. I Don’t wanna hear any complaints unless you’re a Boomie

Lava burst feels horrible...the casting animation was cool before.
They definitly need to change the enhancement one to regular standing and walking cause that looks broken

I don't get why people says Windfury is not changing? The double attack animation is the Windfury one. It lost the wind so to speak.

yeah, you can choose not to talent into them. Ascendance is an ability that turns you into those. It's like a throughput cooldown:)
Yeah, your hair now could be able to benefited by ascendance.

Ascendance, i have no idea what their inspiration is. Like what the hell was the idea behind the previous and this form? What where they based on? Doesnt remind me of anything
Make Windfury attacks more like the old windy ones yeah? From the looks of it they change Windfury attack to be an actual attack rather then just looking like a buff. The double hit animation is new, but it kinda lost its elemental touch when I compare it.
Enchant and AIR is bullshit the old one who you are shot lightning to the enemy THIS was cool and powerful but when you hit enemy with WIND .... looks so stupid and boring.
