This is just clicked with me when we first introducte the 2 elders in the anime during the Mitsuki arc (anime canon one) was when Misuki claim to be " betrayed Konoha and being son of Orochimaru" like it's very similar arc but ofc with Naruto being "dead by Boruto hands" is much more intense here in the timeskip.

I don't think Jura is Ishiki lol, I think it might actually be Kawaki's shinju. the shinju'ified hairdo on Jura kinda looks like Kawaki's mohawk. and the claw grime that attacked him had a rinnegan so it may not have needed to nom him to absorb his chakra, could even have absorbed it from taking Kawaki's attack. plus, Ishiki turned to dust before any claw grimes even existed. not so for Kawaki. we know full well the only one of either of them who even touched or layed eyes on a claw grime was Kawaki, not Ishiki. PLUS the shinju naming their targets shows that their targets are the people the love the most. does Ishiki love Naruto? no.... but Kawaki do o.O so yeah I'm placing my bets in the camp of "Jura is a Kawaki shinju". callin it right now
Well jura technically is kawakis clone because he absorbed his chakra, but more importantly kawaki has 80-90% dna of isshiki because of his karma. So jura is basically isshiki's body with kawakis mind
Well Boruto literally says it's because of Code's karma so that's why he's shaped after Isshiki. How would he even be shaped after Kawaki he didn't get absorbed. He also doesn't look like Kawaki. He wants to eat Naruto not because of love but because Naruto killed Isshiki. (yea Kawaki finished him but Naruto did 99% of it)

Ishiki don't love Naruto. but Kawaki do! also Code created all the shinju so that would mean that would all have to be Ishiki or none of them are Ishiki
I think the manga wants to show us that the ones with gifted powers like kawaki, code are not the strongest ones anymore because they didn't think they needed to train as they are already the strongest ones in the verse. On the other hand boruto even after having karma continuosly trained and battled for 3 years. He is far stronger than code and kawaki both at this point. And above all the other leaf shinobis have also found the need for training for their survival so the author might be hinting us that everyone in the village has gotten stronger except kawaki because he relied on his karma when others like Sarada and Mitsuki trained and honed their skills to surpass him

So I think that the shinju go after the person who turned into a tree cared for the most. Sasuke cares the most for Sarada, Bug (I think) cares most for eida, Moegi cares most for Konohamaru. Where this gets interesting is who does Jura's counterpart care the most for? I think that his counterpart is actually Kawaki. In an earlier chapter, a claw grime did something to Kawaki which I think kickstarted its evolution. Jura has a much similar design to Kawaki and Jura's design could even be a mix of isshiki's and kawaki's design.
Overall a huge theme of boruto is protecting those who you care about. The shinju are great antagonists to this theme as they go after whoever is a trees loved ones while they can't do anything about it and I wouldn't be surprised if they could see what the shinju are doing through their eyes.

This is just my little theory but I believe the upcoming Boruto vs Mitsuki will end with Mitsuki waking up to the B.S and joining Boruto and Sarada as "Team 7" once again. Boruto will now have allies to help him against the likes of Code, the Shinju and Kawaki.

People seem to forget the whole importance of karma being compared to the scientific ninja tool is massive for the story as its been proven with this chapter kawaki was top dog before time skip now hes fallen massively boruto has flown past him after training then having his karma stacked on top. Kawaki hasn't really trained at all just been fighting with mitsuki if mitsuki is able to go beyond the level of orochimaru as a child before the time skip as well hes gotta be absolutely in the upper echelons of power in boruto now as he was already broken with everything before sage mode. Constant training an a goal goes a long way with actual work mitsuki has to be otsutsuki level without a karma or power gifted from an otsutsuki like Naruto an Sasuke
