Oh I completely understand the ginormity of modern furniture. I ordered a couch and when i put it all together, the lengthy paired with the depth overwhelmed me. I ended up shipping it back which was a huge hassle but definitely worth it for the reduced visual clutter!

I love all things Claire Keegan, she's such a tremendous storyteller. I just read Hurricane Season and it is brutal. I think it's important to tell difficult stories like this, and Melchor's writing is phenomenal. Just be prepared for some extremely despicable characters and events. Also, I think a lot of people go into it thinking it's going to be about witchcraft or like a modern day fable about a witch (something akin to Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead). It is not. Still, highly recommended read.
