It took over 5 years and several surgeries, but I was finally free of the endometriosis and fibroid tumors that were all in my head. The other doctors didn’t want to do a hysterectomy because I was only 23 at the time and had only child. I’m 50 and still only have one child and no pain. Damn doctors think they know best.

Unfortunately these days pain is commonly dismissed, regardless of gender. The opioid hysteria propaganda has cost literally thousands of lives due to honest pain patients inability to find legal relief. Facebook has a few pages devoted to the topic. There is also a documentary called Pain Warriors.

    • @toddandangelbrowning2920

Actually they have done nothing to stop the opioid epidemic. Nothing. Drs are scared to write any pain meds. The ones who need it can’t get it . Those are the ones they have hurt. The drug addicts have just moved on the meth heroin etc. now they are spraying wasp spray on metal fences and hooking batteries to them, what crystallizes they scrape and snort it. Pitiful.

They also still use leeches nowadays for people that have lost arms or legs or fingers, ect. It helps bring back blood flow to the severed appendage. They also still use maggots for certain types of infection. They will take the wound that is infected and pack it with maggots and then seal the wound off with bandages and the maggots will eat only the infection.

Leeches have chemicals they inject which are anticoagulants and vascular dilators which at point can't be replaced with current technologies. Keeping damaged tissue supplied with blood helps prevent tissue loss.
Margot don't eat infected/diseased flesh..they eat dead flesh, very precisely. This stops the dead cells from decomposing and killing living cells... this is also known as gangrene.

AUNDRIA; I am so sorry to hear about the “pain” your momma went through. (Your story is just heartbreaking). As a nurse in Dermatology for 20 plus years, That is totally unacceptable for any Doctor to overlook an EASY diagnosis. All they had to do was a simple biopsy & blood work! I’m hoping & praying their treating her with immunosuppressant, topical & oral steroids & antibiotics.. Please know, this is treatable & with proper care “she can recover”. Also, I’m SURE you know... but just in case you don’t...”Advise her to take cooler showers vs hot/warm showers (which dries out skin & causes additional pain & itch) & use mild (NON-deodorant soaps).” Such as Dove, Tone, Caress, oil of Olay.. Any deodorant soap will cause excessive itching (which poor gal doesn’t need). Bless your family & praying for a fast recovery.

Leeches are used following microsurgery to keep blood flowing to the affected area -- restoring circulation when amputated fingers are reattached, for example.

When I was in a car accident I broke my neck (and most of my bones) and the EMT had to hold my neck/head like that poor elderly lady's. I actually found out later I actually would have lost all function of my diaphragm and stopped breathing and died or would have been a quadriplegic.
I also have a real human thigh bone and full left arm/hand set of bones that is. I want to get a whole skeleton. let me tell you something... Bones in no way are cheap to get.

Endometriosis is excruciating. I was lucky that through careful planning I was able to conceive and deliver 2 beautiful sons, but it was tricky because of the endometriosis. And my period cramps were worse than full labor. 7 months to the day after my 2nd son was born I had got have a complete hysterectomy at 26 yrs old.

Playing devil's advocate here, but we did learn what NOT to do as well as what works from the mistakes or criminal behavior of others. I don't think we'd be where we are today without them. I often wonder how future generations will see our medical practices!!!

My only beef with doctors and dentists, is that they occasionally will say "Here, take this more expensive drug that IDK what it does, but certainly puts more money in my pocket" instead of giving the cheaper drug that actually does what you need it to do. It's such a garbage thing to do. If you know the person is in pain or in need of 1 specific thing, help them. That is your job! Don't bleed them dry of their money and health to make yourself richer.

Oh fun fact about womb wandering. That's where we got vibrators from. When women were in mental institutions for "hysteria" and the only prescription was to "do the deed", sometime there were no men to do it. So doctors created the vibrator to "treat" their patients hysteria.
