If it were me id probably drop the pressure on the bagger till the cables sagged then fix the hole now and put card board in before you go any further, you could make it worse 🤷
When the grooves get wore down it's time to change them! I've never had much problems with them if their tight, no feeler gauges just tighten them down! I've snapped the bolt off, and the bolt has come out and lost the thick washer in the field but that's been about it! If anything when I get to the end I run the head in reverse till I'm lined up with the next rows to go back in if I have bad grass 1 your knifes are dull or wore out. 2 they need to be tightened up or shimmed correctly. 3 check around the track to the gathering chain or around the knife to see if their is a loose pice of steel or something sticking out holding the grass up! ( I've had it happen) Grass can be a real pain Good luck! 2
@@bryanginder5903 I've had the problem losing the bolt on the 722 one row I had. I also had to keep an eye on the neighbors chopper last week one blade came loose. I reverse direction also across the ends It may need new blades but not happening this year. The corn I have left is a lot cleaner and not going to be a problem.
