  • This is a requested video on how to wire a Touchmaster Siren. The steps are pretty straight forward, if you have the correct wires. If your siren console still does not get power after following these steps, then there probably is a more complicated internal issue. Hope this video helps!

    Hi this is Eric from Germany and i drive a retired Riverside County Sheriff Crown Vic with a touchmaster delta siren and perhaps you may help me.. i got each wire with its own fuse and everytime i try to use something thats about making a noise like using the PA or Wail, Yelp, Horn or just even the TEST function, that fuse from the SIREN wire is burning so fast even before any noise is getting out. It also happens when the Loudspeaker is not connected to the Touchmaster.
    Do you have an idea why this happens? I changed nothing it just happened suddenly and now it goes on and on..
    Greetings and thank you so much, Eric

    I just recently purchased the TMD. My question is about the video where you wired the ignition direct to positive. If I combine all those into one like in the video, when I connect it to my battery, will the illumination for the controls always stay on being there is constant power? I'm just trying to avoid having to connect the ignition wire in the fuse box. Also, If I have an in-line fuse from the battery to all the combined wires, what size fuse should I use? Thank you so much!

      FB1 Response Videos Sure thing! On the back of the Touchmaster unit there are two terminals on the bottom row that are labeled “COM” and “100W”. Assuming you have a 100 watt speaker, simply connect the two lead wires from the speaker to these terminals. (Does not matter which color goes where)

    • @allintodrumsandguns
      @allintodrumsandguns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the rear of the unit, you will need to supply your own wire (~6”) to connect the rls terminal to the #12 terminal. You will need to connect your access wire to positive power on your battery. If your tm4 is working properly, you will be able to cycle through the sweep tones, as well as use the rls as a manual switch.

    Hi, I am going to purchase a Touchmaster Delta soon as my first siren, and let me say that your guide is easy and simple to follow, but I have one question. To wire it up to a siren Speaker, what wires do you have to use? (Speaker or regular red/black power wires?)

    • @allintodrumsandguns
      @allintodrumsandguns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re using a 100 W speaker, you will connect your speaker lead wires to the speaker common terminal (COM) and 100 W terminal (100W) on the back of the touch master delta. You can use extra wire to connect the speaker leads to the back of the touch master.

Can I wire it to the 58 w side without damaging it, or do I have to use the 100 w?

      The access wire is 50amps max. I don’t believe the siren wire requires a fuse. Each slide switch position can handle 20amps max. The W. LTS wire I’m not 100% sure, but I wouldn’t run it over 60amps.

    Could you possibly explain how to go about wiring in an extra/remote momentary switch to take advantage of the sweep feature so that you don't have to go through the process of dealing with the vehicle horn ring? Also, this would be in reference to the Touchmaster Delta.

    • @allintodrumsandguns
      @allintodrumsandguns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bryan Mulvehill Sure, it’s rather simple in theory. You will need to run a single wire from terminal 12 to a user supplied momentary push button and connect the other end the positive power. Just remember to connect your ignition wire to positive power as well. That’s pretty much it. Then just mount the button in a desired location in the vehicle. Hope that helps!

      allintodrumsandguns Thanks!

    • @mulvebry
      @mulvebry 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay, one more question, is there any chance that you would be able to wire the ring connection to a latching switch and still make the sweep function work? My problem is that I use all of the buttons, including the RLS for my rifle. If I can use the Aux 1 (far left button) and essentially hit the button on and then off quick, I feel as if that would more or less imitate a momentary or RLS type button - would this be accurate?

    • @allintodrumsandguns
      @allintodrumsandguns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bryan Mulvehill I think I actually tried connecting to the horn ring to the aux, and if I remember correctly, it did work. If you would like, I will try it again to make sure and let you know if that is a viable option. (Might take a couple hours until I can test, I don’t get off work until late.)

    • @mulvebry
      @mulvebry 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      allintodrumsandguns If you're up for it, that would be fantastic. But by all means, please don't feel obligated to do so.
      Essentially, I would have my left alley light hooked up to the Aux 1 button, as well as the ring feature for the sweep if possible. And I would guess that there should not be an issue with having both the ring, and the left alley light connected to the same button, but I don't know.
      I assume that the siren, if connected in this fashion, would only activate when pressing the Aux 1 button, if it is in test mode, or if it is in position 3.

    • @allintodrumsandguns

      Hutch It’s your discretion if you want to go with higher amps. There are other factors that could be causing that issue (bad internal wiring, defective unit, etc.) It’s hard for me to say without actually seeing it. But if it blows a 7.5amp, if it were mine, I would not go higher than 15amps. In other words, if you use a 15amp and smell smoke or see melting wires, unplug it immediately.
