If Smiley can install the stolen cloaking device from Martok's BOP on the MirrorVerse Defiant, it's not that difficult for Starfleet to mass produce the Klingon's cloaking device. Point is that the Achilles should have at least a Klingon BOP cloaking device just to hide it from long range sensors but also have a plasma torpedo launcher for heavy bombardment of fixed targets like a JemHadar Ketracel White Outpost inside an asteroid.
The Treaty of Algeron (sp?) forbade the Federation from developing and using cloaking devices. See STNG S.7 Ep.12 The Pegasus. Thats why originally, the Defiant used a Romulan Cloak along with a Romulan officer to operate it, and only in the Gamma Quadrant.

Question 🙋♂️ is the Tholian warp core the best to use for energy weapon builds? I’m current using the elite fleet spire core you mentioned for my SS3 build. Would I be better off with the Tholian core??
The Tholian Warp Core is best used on multi-target/AOE builds. So FaW and CSV, Torps, or EPG. This is because since they hit multiple enemies at once, they create multi warp crystals at once. But the core will be less effective with single target builds like BO, CRF, or any of the specialization firing modes (like SS3) because you'd only be able to spawn one warp crystal at a time. @@Stu1701 Okay. Thanks. My only problem with the Isomags is they'd occupy the two engineering slots, and I've got ECS Accels there. But combining the Isomags with more Vulnerability Exploiters could be fun.
You can't combine Isomags with Vulnerability Exploiters or Locators. You can only have Advanced console from one career path, the Vulnerability consoles were made into Advanced Tactical consoles when the other Advanced consoles were introduced. However, you can combine Isomags with the Protomatter Infusers from the Dranuur Fleet Colony.
They give the same amount of Phaser damage (or whatever energy type you pick) as the Vulnerability consoles give, plus a little Projectile damage, but no Crit Chance or Severity. Additionally, they have a chance to apply some heals when you use a firing mode. Combined with the two-piece from the discovery rep core set, these are nice for some passive heals on your ship, you can see a good example of this in this video: th-cam.com/video/7qKOZM66nZ4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_tiq5hCSxjdKDDEx

I'm still somewhat new but damn I never realized how grind heavy and money consuming the game would be just to be able to somewhat keep up with other players 😢
It's a free-to-play game, they have to make money somehow, so that means make your grind or let you pay to skip the grind. Frankly, STO's free-to-play model is more player friendly than most free-to-play games. If you're struggling with your build, check out the video I did on the Typhoon. It's not a direct one-to-one with Achilles, but that video should offer more budget friendly options for your build that you can adapt to Achilles easily. th-cam.com/video/aNttEFLP38I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NNlPBgFQnXkxdzU4
damn I might need that ship now just for the experimental weapon. I need something better for my Columbia Class. I don't care what people say, I still love the old legendary NX-Class
Legendary NX is a great ship. It's one of the better ships from the 10th anniversary bundle.
@@Stu1701 yeah I saw the Tier List you did of all the legendary a while ago.
I know there are better ships, even in those I own, but I can do Advanced TFOs and that's good enough for my unoptimized little ship. I'm not chasing Meta. I just want to have fun playing the game
Always remember: Your crit chance and crit damage are zero against anything outside of your firing arc 😉
The next 35% sale can't come soon enough!
When you come to my house, bring food.
Why would regular phaser dual heavies be better than the quad heavies? I dont understand how that would be possible, which likely means im missing a piece of math knowledge.
Part of it is the innate crit severity buff that dual heavy cannons get
Can I request more unhinged Stu content
Is 440k to 450k dps in ISE acceptable? Still getting used to non A2B build since I took a break from playing 5 years ago.
Oh yeah, over 400k is plenty more than you need to get through ISE or pretty much any other Elite content in the game.
@@Stu1701 thanks. I ditched my old A2B setup and changed into boimler+PO1 and several hold science ability + the personal trait that reduces cooldown for universal console everytime you use hold ability really helped.
You know I was going to write but then... you had some fighting words. Jokes on you... thats not mayonnaise.
Ruin of our Enemies is an account wide trait via Mudd's, it came out at the beginning of the year and allot of people have been eagerly waiting for them to drop back the mass muds ship bundles sale as a result others that are included in muds to take not of are the consoles DPRM and Immolating phaser Lance. I you have a single character you play not worth it but so more than 5-10 it starts paying for itself so you can focus more on building ships than farming. Time over money as always.
Man have enough zen to buy this or the typhoon but sure if i should or biy something else
Look, if you're in my house then you better pay your share if the rent, ok?
it's a barbie, SOLD!
ah yes. the pancake Intrepid cruiser.
How are you keeping your weapon energy from draining during firing cycles?
Pretty sure the only thing on here reducing weapon power cost is Emergency Weapon Cycle. I'm also using Isomags, so there's a lot of power to begin with.
@@Stu1701
Okay.
@@Stu1701
Oh right. Forgot about that. What do the Protomatter Infusers do again?
They give the same amount of Phaser damage (or whatever energy type you pick) as the Vulnerability consoles give, plus a little Projectile damage, but no Crit Chance or Severity. Additionally, they have a chance to apply some heals when you use a firing mode. Combined with the two-piece from the discovery rep core set, these are nice for some passive heals on your ship, you can see a good example of this in this video: th-cam.com/video/7qKOZM66nZ4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_tiq5hCSxjdKDDEx
My house? 🤣
If you're in my kitchen, mind putting the dishes away? And dont worry about the mayo, its on my shopping list.
I really wish I could click "Like" more than once....
I hate saying this but the Achilles is a weaker Terran Hydra.
The only similarity they have is that they are both Destroyers. Apart from that, ZERO similarity
I Am Typing , I am typing... but just typing!
Anyone else not use the Micro quantum torp array?
I have it on the Thunderer but haven't used it much yet
I disagree with the most of... wait, STU GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!
buy more mayo
I like strawberry flavored phasers…
Lol, I feel like this build rant has been a thing. Your power is on.....right???
HEY! Where's the rent? You owe back rent. I calculate no less than 300,000 USD.
Dual cannons are better than heavies most of the time, as they share the same base dps at a lower weaponpowercost,
but if you can stomach that, heavies offer 10% increased critseverity. Well, not worth most of the time.
