    Finally watched the whole video. Well done. I would like a "how to" video on the trans install and removal!!

      Kinda sorta lol. He did take it back and get it fixed but I'm not totally convinced it's 100% good. He didn't do me wrong except for the fact of doing re-work twice and taking a bunch of time. I would buy his other products, just not his F-35 builds.

    I have a 2008 SS that I daily. Only issues I have had is the e brake not holding which I had the same problem on my 2009 SS that I had. Looked on the forums to see what that could be but no real answers that I can find. My transmission is mint so at least that's good. I just changed the fluid. Only hear some very slight gear noise and there's the factory clunk clunk if you don't shift it nice enough coming from the axles. Overall it's a nice car and don't have too many complaints. Typical gm interiors though and design flaws here and there hehe. Oh yeah that 1st to 2nd gear is terrible and I also only like 2nd to 3rd lol :). My ws6 was good in any gear :) :) :).

      simonriddick that's awesome! Yeah my friend has been fighting a loose e brake issue as well on his 09, I always give him shit because mine is just about perfect haha. That clunking noise could be the control arm bushings, they are fairly weak in these cars and very common to cause that noise, it would be worth it to at least look over the suspension parts the next time you get under the car. Thanks for watching!

      simonriddick there is actually a fix on one of the forums if you talking about when you pull t up it not staying up. It’s a little difficult because it’s not a permanent fix at least for me it wasn’t. But luckily my brother has a automatic cobalt and I just swapped them.

      I changed out rear pads and rotors, and that helped a little. The handle didn't pull up all the way, anymore, at least. Now, it's getting to where I have to pull the handle almost completely up for it to set. Methinks I need to adjust the parking cable.

    Do they run a solid sleeve spacer rather than a crush sleeve? Do they do a bell housing/pinion reinforcement? Been building these awhile and that is fairly crucial. High mileage stock units pinion bearing race wears through the retainer and causes a lot of havoc, my friend pioneered a machined bell housing with a steel reinforcement plate for the housing and output shaft as well as a solid sleeve instead of a crush sleeve. Prevents a lot of case flex and gear separation.

      I believe it's still the stock crush sleeve that's used, no reinforcements that I'm aware of. Car has 83k miles and has had the trans opened at least 4 times haha. As far as I know everything is new from GM when it was done last year, including bearings. They have the gears treated, I think that's the only real modifications that are done, I'd have to look on their website again to see what all they do. Is your friend Jason by chance? He has a lot of R and D and it's quiet impressive, I'll be going to him if I have any more trouble. I hate doing things more than once especially when you are promised performance and it doesn't pan out.

      Wow, that is rough, 4x in a year?! Yes, Jason at B3design. He actually reached out to me as he knows I build a lot of the f25 and f35 transmissions. I highly recommend his products!

      No, in the car's life. I've had it for a year and and half and out twice haha. I ran into Jason last year in Omaha and talked to him about his products, very enthusiastic and wants the best for our platform. I just wish he wasn't so backed up with work! Have you by chance seen the video I posted of the noise I have? It's a quite substantial clicking noise under deceleration in gear or coasting without any load, primarily on the passenger side. I was thinking it was the intermediate shaft bearing, removed it and the original was tight and quiet but put the new one in, the noise hasn't changed. I noticed a little of torsional pay on the inner half of the passenger driveshaft. I have a spare that I'll throw in, I had Pwerks drive the car after they did the warranty work to see if he thought it was internal and he didn't seem to think so.

      Ahh ok. Yeah, he reached out to me awhile ago! I just watched it, does it change with the clutch disengaged? If you were to be coasting with no load in neutral does the noise change when you push the clutch pedal?

    • @manbowv8
      @manbowv8  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The clutch does not change the noise, the clicking increases and decreases speed as ground speed changes so to me it definitely sounds like final drive. Growl at highway speeds and the clicking most prevalent at 30 mph unloaded.

    You cheated. You have to bench press the front end while your buddy is bringing the trans down. Once everyone is clear you drop it on the jack stands. Rookie
