For everyone trying to make these: oven at 350°, cover with foil and bake until the cheese is melted (usually about 15 minutes), then take the foil off and bake for another 10 minutes. You're welcome.

I made these today and I love how simple it was! Instead of ham I used turkey and I had a bag of an authentic Mexican cheese blend on hand so I used that! I topped off my sandwich with some avocado slices and bam! This recipe is a definite keeper!

You should probably include the temperature and time that you baked it at....I’d say that’s a key detail.

Well with something like this it's not really that big a deal you're kinda just warming everything up and making it all melted so I mean 350° for 10-15 mins is pretty safe bet. I'd foil it and maybe take foil off do another 5 mins without

Thank you! My husband works outside and it’s hard to find things that are different than a normal ham and cheese, but still safe to just be cooked by a cold pack and doesn’t need warmed up. This is perfect!

I am going to try your recipe. Only ONE layer of cheese may solve my problems when making sliders. Every batch I have ever made calls for two different cheeses. My problem is… by the time the cheese melts the bottom of my rolls get hard and the meat is still only semi warm. Anyway… I’ll check back when I try them. Thanks for posting!

Almost all bread here is enriched, meaning it contains a fairly high amount of eggs, milk, or fat in addition to the flour, water, salt, and yeast that basic breads consist of. The extra fat makes them sweeter. Our bread is akin to challah or brioche, just in regular shaped loaves.
Hawaiian rolls have added sugar as well, sometimes in the form of fruit juice like pineapple, which makes them even more sweet. They're technically closer to a cake than bread, but they're still delicious especially with ham and Swiss.
