What a stunning locomotive. I too have a Marx 3000 with a chrome cab, crossheads, chrome boiler front & cow catcher with a double reduction motor. Does the one you are showing have a double reduction motor. Many locos which pulled auto coupler equipped sets with 4-wheel truck cars did due to the extra weight of the rolling stock.
Gorgeous locomotive, but I wonder if the tender is correct. The locomotive appears to be a model of Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson. Tender doesn't match locomotive colors and is marked New York Central.

@@chiconian49 The owner believed it was chromed only in 1939. I would have to ask him about the double reduction motor.
