I still feel like "Nightmare" is just what she refers to her abilities as to be honest, it would make sense for her ult line ("Nightmare take them"), or in the line with Omen ("Omen, with me, nightmare thrives in the dark") since that implies that her powers work better in the dark

yea i think she refers to her nightmares as “nightmare” also her prowler refers to her saying “mine would eat them” so yea i mean i think her nightmares release when she uses her util and places it on the enemy

I think fades power is HER nightmare, like her fears are turned into power that she can control. In the cinematic she said ”mine would eat them alive” referring to her own fears, plus other voicelines she does say some other stuff which backs my theory up.
The fact her power isn't radiant would justify her necklace and ring that many people use as talisman against the evil eye. So her jewelry wouldn't be simple accessories or design thought for this character but would also have an actual meaning and use.
I always thought they only used it because evil eye has a huge part in Turkey's culture. But you may be right.

It also seems that she drinks a lot of coffee, based on her teaser we got a while back, and one of her quotes saying she'll buy the others coffee after.
This could mean that she doesn't want to fall asleep much, or she just likes coffee.

Imagine if they added a "Story Mode" in Valorant, like i understand that it's a Online FPS game but that doesn't mean it's impossible for them to make a "Story Mode"
story mode will never exist, they want to make the lore to be digged :/

@@Ducks.. You can have a "Story mode" for the MAIN story, things that are obvious in the Cinematics ect. But still have parts of the lore hidden. In fact they could hide even more things inside that story mode.
I think when Fade talks about “the Nightmare” like it’s more just what she calls the power that had befallen her after being exposed to radianite. She says how she payed a heavy price for it, but Phoenix had burned down a house while trying to control his power and other radiants such as Jett probably had issues with control as well. The radianite could have also caused her side effects just like it has with Omen as well. Side effects that may lead to mental changes. I think her powers are radianite and not something else. That and Cypher says “your radianite power…”
Also the fact that she was silenced by Kayo, meaning she has radiant powers otherwise silence wouldn't have affected her

New abilities can feel alien to people. For Fade, maybe the only way to cope with her power was to rationalize it as something, or someone, else.
Yeah. And it might be hurting her. I get the idea that her radianite powers are a physical, controlled manifestation of the darkness inside her. If this is true, then it's natural for her powers to feel like a force that's always against her, a force that she's struggling against and trying to control, as opposed to the agents with less emo powers that do a lot more good to them than bad
one of her lines (when spawned in ) is "another mission? anything to keep me awake" so yeah I think ur spot on with the nightmare thing
I'm honestly just happy Omen has a friend in Fade its obvious she does understand his situation and relates somewhat and they seem to enjoy talking together so that fun

A little unrelated but, ever since we've learnt that the upcoming map should be on Mirror Earth, I've been wondering what the game mode on it will be. Lore-wise, mirror agents plant the spike to steal radianite from our world but that wouldn't make sense with the roles reversed. So will we get the hostage game mode from CS:GO and try to find Fade's target instead of the usual spike planting? Will the devs come up with an original game mode for this map exclusively? Or will our-Earth agents try to steal back the stolen radianite? So many questions and so much hype. As always love your videos man.
I don't know about the CS:GO mode but I was wondering the same

@@berbal9658 Maybe our earth valorant team are planting the spike as a sort of revenge but also distraction so that the mirror valorant team would focus more on Pearl.
I feel like Fade is looking for Omen's past when he was still human and that is why she says that they took him from her.
That could be actually, she calls him "Omen Abi" which translates to "Omen my big brother". And he seems to be the only one she refers to with "Abi". I fell like they could be brother and sister, explaining why they have similar themed powers.

Turkish girl here! In Turkey, we have superstitions and her ring, nazar boncuğu, is for to prevent the bad eyes and bad omens. We also have witchcraft superstitions linked with islam, one of them are cinler, or demons we can call. I personally was terrified in my childhood and was afraid of dark because they come at night. I don't believe them anymore, but some people still believes them and thinks that they saw them and it is still a huge thing. There are a lot of horror movies about that. Riot might have thought if they want to add a nightmare powered Turkish agent, that might be a good culture-appropriate backstory.
I think that fade's radiant is actually that her nightmares take real physical form, causing the nightmares to still originate from her yet being a physical form (kind of like Skye but not completely)
Fade's nightmare is probably inspired by "Karabasan" from Turkey (I think this because her theme is literally nightmares and she also has a gun skin named Karabasan) . It is basically a very bad and frightening nightmare in Turkish but people also use the name like Karabasan is a bogeyman/demon of sorts. They might have just translated that to nightmare so it is why nightmare is referred to like a person or a demon. I think Fade might also be calling her radiant self nightmare as well. Pretty interesting because I do not see anyone that has made the Fade - Karabasan connection
Also there is a Karabasan effect which after a very bad nightmare you literally wake up but can't move like frozen.
In games i hear the fade on my team sometimes talk about coffee as well as a line saying "anything to keep me awake". I think that fade has to stay awake at all time for some reason that probably has something to do with "the nightmares".
she probably has her own fears, probably about the person she is looking for. I cant imagine going to bed just to see the person/s i care for most being taken and or hurt. I have had nightmares where i watched my parents die that haunt me to this day. I don't blame her for not wanting to sleep.
I think that fades radiant power originates of a nightmare in herself which is contained by her turkish artifact (ring) just like the radiant orbs help for sage and she kinda releases it when using her abilities ( from there ‘nightmare take them’) and also she says (in the voice audio to brim i think) ‘the nightmare is not an easy thing to wield’ and i also think her nightmare feels fear of others and translates them into nightmares put into fades consciousness just like she felt a lot of fear around the teleporter to omega in what probably is Lisbon
The way fade calls nightmare reminds me of dnd and patrons in dnd you gain powers from them in dnd
riot’s devotion to this lore is so amazing. but there’s one thing im confused about, what’s that locked up room in the range? i thought that would be an interrogation room but now that she’s here and it’s still not opened, i’m wondering if that was there just for looks
Fade became my second fave agent to play as (just second to Jett) outta nowhere I don’t know why but I love her utilities and voice
Being alone, a bounty hunter, She refer her radiant power like a person that she can talk to. She talk to it, commune to it, I bet that nightmare is an ego of her, or those people nightmares her radiant power consume and turn it into entity that communicate that she only understands. seems like Nightmare is sub unconscious of ourselves. thats my opinion of her power.
In turkic mythology theres a creature called Basti, the spirit of nightmares. I think Fade might be referring to Basti and she calls him a nightmare because POSSIBLY Fade’s real name might be Basti. Or maybe the person closest to her that she might’ve killed or turned brain dead is name Basti.
im excited to watch this, im very interested in her lore especially since unlocking her on valorant as i absolutely love her abilities and voice (HAUNT MY BELOVED ABILITY, SO CUTE)
-- edit after watching: maybe fade suffers a lot from night terrors and instead of just being scared she decided to face the night terror, named it/its called 'nightmare' and the 'price' she pays for interacting with nightmare is the night terrors appears in her vision haunting her, she also mentioned her fears would eat the other's fears alive so its a question of just what fears does she have and what has she been through? not to mention she somewhat understands omen, and this is a really far stretch but maybe this could mean omen can get a bit more help and understanding with who he is, maybe fade can help him remember something in the future lore

about the new map, didnt valorant have a new map planned and was planning on releasing it with an initator but scrapped that for now and released neon? maybe thats why, they thought the release of fade later on would make the lore a lot easier to transition into a new map?
i missed a lot of lore as i took a huge break from valorant but honestly im so excited to see where it goes from here!

I'm just really happy that this character exists. There is not many Turkish representation on video games and this character is so important to the Turkish gaming community because of this. I hope she takes a big role on the lore.

I think that Agent 8 was captured by mirror earth, or Agent 8 teamed up with mirror earth, Its just speculation but it would explain a lot of things.

Am I the only one that notices the handprint-like mark on the right side of Fade's collarbone? That could indicate the "price" she has to pay to wield this "Nightmare" as she calls it. Or, it could reference her own fears that she says would "eat them alive" when talking about the others' fears in her trailer. Like, maybe some childhood trauma, or teenage trauma that caused her scar? Plus the scar across the bridge of her nose that spans from the middle of her right cheek then grows wider when it goes towards her left cheek and looks like it gets close to her left ear but her hair hides where it ends.
i actually thought it was just a cat paw print tattoo because she is Turkish and the reason why her eyes are different color is also because of the Ankara cat having the same eye colors.. well I guess there could be a lore reason as well
Sad fact: fade only friend in Turkey is cats.she loves stray cats and always feeding them and talking to them.but after she leave in Turkey and join Valorant protocol,she gave the stray cats a one last big fish as for Last Goodbye to them.

I guess Fade apologized in a big way to the members of the VP for blackmailing them as soon as she realized that they don't have the person she is looking for - in fact they may have ressources that could help her find him. So all her threatening was targeted at the wrong organisation and i guess most of them have some sort of sympathy for her actions lately as many of them lost someone they love and understand her previous point of view/point of action.
I think the person she lost earlier is whom she refers as 'nightmare' as he could have been a partial ghost (like omen but even more dead and completely in fade) who could have feuled fade's abilities
I feel just like there's mirror-earth and Yoru's realm, there must be a "Nightmare" realm, which fade powers take form on, like she can use her nightmare powers withour this dimension, but like yoru and his mask, she can use this realm to power herself up, and as you can see, she was quite the menace when fighting against 5 AGENTS, if kayo wasnt there, fade wouldve escaped or worse

as Nearly almost every agent character has lost something, we can assume leaks will happen on about fades lost one, Or could be in the valorant protocol itself.
I love how protective cypher gets when fade suggests that the VA kidnapped whoever she's looking for.

Fades Radiant Power is not the powers she shows in game her radiant power is to be able to communicate with this "entity" she calls Nightmare, this Nightmare fuels her power to control fear and instill it upon others, that make sense, and Omens power originates from Nightmare but omen does not speak directly with it Omen feels its presence and uses it as dark power/energy
You should make an entire video recapping ALL of the valorant lore like an all in one video, agents, maps, story all of it
Okay Jeppy I need your opinion here because something is REALLY weird.
Fade from earth one is looking for someone on omega earth that took someone. But Fade is also part of the Protocol of omega earth. That would mean that someone from earth one took away Fade's relative right? Or else Fade from Omega would have no reason to join the VP.
i am wondering the same thing since fade launch
It's possible agents from Omega Earth have different reasons for joining, and have differing story lines I think.
What if when Fade says her fears would eat theirs (the strike team from her trailer) she means she could put worse things in their minds. Also I think when she refers to her nightmare like a person, what if she does this because she is lonely. I mean she did lose her “him” and may use her nightmare as a person to talk to, (like how some movies people use objects as a person) idk, just my thoughts.
I think nightmare is the ring she is wearing which has radianite in it and which gives her power , at 8:37min in this video you can also see that she is telling that ' the nightmare is not an easy thing to wield' and i think somekind of weapon or something like that can only be wielded so , i think nightmare is the ring she wears .
I may be wrong but I think it is a Turkish Nazar, which is used to scare away evil spirits. I could be completely wrong, though, you have givin me my own thoughts so thx.

her ring is just a tribute to our culture. Its the evil eye, it absorbs evil thrown her way and breaks when its full

What's wrong with it?
I haven't noticed anything off with Fade's model, but it wouldn't be the only one that did the character dirty. Brimstone's in game model makes him look chunky (which in and of itself isn't necessarily a bad thing) but it doesn't match with all of his out of game art he's obviously fit, even if sometimes stocky.
And don't even get me started on game model Chamber's scrawny little twig arms. They look like they'd snap in two just lifting a sniper rifle, let alone firing one.

what if radianites are living organisms and Fade somehow found a way to 'understand' or 'communicate' with them? maybe radianites are foreign objects from another reality where the concept of life is completely different from what we have and somehow found their way into our reality. just a theory tho and it can be debunked anytime

Agent 8 might be Yoru's ancestor from Icebox who is referenced in a voice line. It can also be a secret operative in Valorant Protocol who was sent on a covert mission and is waiting on directive to return with sensitive information.
I think youre diving too deep on the nightmare x fade thing. Since Kayos ult worked on her, her powers must be coming from the radianite? Or, more unlikely her powers DOES come from nightmare but she wanted to get captured by the valorant protocol, for a chance to go to the mirror world. If she knows a lot about the members of the VP then it wouldnt make sense if shes not already familliar with mirror earth.

it be cool if the defenders the people who are trying to defend there radianite went to the mirror and took it and in the game there was a mode where the defenders spawn on the same side as normal but they plant (i do know this would give them a 10x advantage but still. but the barriers in the buy phase would be changed to make it a little more fair

Maybe Fade is the daughter od Doctor Pontes menitoned in one log and since she might have found card given to him by Chamber, it would not be so hard for her to put two and two together.
