    What a lot of people forget to do with diesel heaters is provide an adequate return air path back to the heater inlet effectively starving it of adequate airflow and forcing it to run hotter.
    The drone shots of you walking on the lake were both stunning and scary 😧 how can you navigate in total whiteness?

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah people often have minimal clearance on thr in take for the heaters. Might whilst I’d bottom of the cupboard has a large cut hole next to it so it has plenty of air to suck it. I’m run it’s for well over a year like this. This over was a issue with the board not controlling the fan speed correctly.
      As for whiteout nav, it’s about compass bearing, pacing and knowing were you have been.

    Sometimes your Tautaun can't maintain it's body temp when outdoors at night. Brilliant light show! Nice job on the illegal boarder crossings! :)

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah no idea that heater issue that evening but it never happen again.
      Not the first illegal border crossing, once crossed into Angola for a beer

      @@MispronouncedAdventures " once crossed into Angola for a beer"
      Sounds like a replacement for the old "why did the chicken cross the road..." joke?
      Why did the guy illegally cross an international boarder? Because there was a free beer on the other side!

    Great shots of the northern lights. I live in NZ and this time last week I was on a Dreamlinerheading south to see the southern lights at 40,000ft. Bloody amazing. They even turned the nav light off so would not interfere with the photography. As they said no one elce if flying that far south. Love your channel.

    Hi. Really enjoy your channel - lots of good stuff for my own van build! Are you still running on diesel from the main tank for the diesel heater? If so did you have to protect/insulate the feed pipe to the diesel heater? Thanks for posting these videos

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, my diesel heater goes directly off my fuel tank as the transit have a auxiliary fuel port in the van fuel tank sender unit. The pipe is protected with conduit on corners where it could rub. But it is not insulated, however, in the Nordics, where I go, diesel is pre-treated at pumps, so no problems with it gelling up in the line.

    • @digb1
      @digb1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MispronouncedAdventures Thanks for the reply. I was toying with the idea of using an internal separate tank for the diesel heater supply. I think I'll see if there is an auxiliary port on my Crafter tank.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know lots of also have a internal separate tank. Personally, I like the hassle free of having it out of the larger main tank.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures

      Very familiar with avalanches as part of my guiding work and qualifications. Unfortunately many tourists don’t understand as they are complex beasts or underestimate the risks regarding avalanche and snow in general
