Well, at this point the composer used a 6/8 meter and wrote "Andantino ingenuo - Eighth note = 120" in the Full Score of "Gianni Schicchi". We have just respected Puccini's metronome markings in our performance of Lauretta's aria "O mio babbino caro"! So we are right!!
