Acadia was the street Josh grew up on, his childhood house got torn down and he felt very attached to it and wrote this song! (i think thats what I read somewhere lol)
+Niki Edmonds yes it is, but Acadia is what Canada was call by the french when they first came to canada, so to keep the name Acadia they started calling them selfs Acadians to show that they where french, the street was named Acadia after the original name that was given to Canada, we have a lot of streets like that here, In the town i'm from we have a street named "Canada st.". We also have a lot of Streets named after places in the U.K
Acadia is also a sea cadet camp i went to this past summer, in Nova Scotia! My GT year was AMAZING! I miss that place and the people!! This song reminds me of it!
Awesome i only have one friend that knows them and he doesnt listen much! Im glad there are more just wish i couldve seen some. Im in hilbillie town. its all about country music. That gets old and i grew up listening to country. born and raised here and i cant wait to get outta here! that'll be the day.
ive heard this song a million times and i know all the words!!! i love it too much and everyone thinks im weird cause i live in NC and listen to a band no one has ever heard of here! sucks to be here, i hope my first concert I go to is theirs i would die to see their concert!!!
Well the song is true. And he was actually pretty fortunate. He grew up with a wealthy family with tons of opportunity. Also Acadia Rd. is real and in Van so...
Can't believe I only just found this song ._. I've listened to Marianas Trench for almost a year now XD This song is amazing just as every othert one is!
I feel you, MT is on the radio and everywhere but NO ON here knows about them! The only ppl know about them is because of me, they all say im a crazy obssesed fan girl,, but if they're that awesome how could i not love them. I want to see them live SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad!!!!
You were there too?? I originally wanted to go for AAR, but when I saw Marianas Trench was playing I looked up the songs on the set list so I would know all the words when we saw them. Needless to say, I'm far more hooked on MT than I am AAR now. There are no words to describe how flawless they were when they played. So sad I didn't get to meet them though, the crowd was way too big. Next time!!
Acadia used to be in Canada until the brits took it! I love this song reminds me of my friend and I singing the the summer...good times...this is why Canadian artists rock!
i live in the u.s. and i despise how i mentioned going to see marianas trench at journeys back yard barbegue tour in nashville tn, and everyone said "who are they i wanna see all american rejects". however getting there and riding home with 6 ppl saying "OMG THEY WERE AMAZING!!!!!!" completely made the day a bit more epic i got to meet all the guys it was totally worth the 5 hour drive. i can not wait to see them again!!!
Jeez.. I dont know why but this reminds me of my old best friend. We used to laugh together, sing together, goof around, we were the real bffs. Now, It feels like our friendship is acadia. Its gone.
I never listened to this song cause in my mind it was way slow, then i got the CD and it came on, and love at first sound! its exactly my childhood, and i adore it!!!
i love this song. it means so fucking much to josh! it tell all about his child hood i mean " remember their faces when Andrew and i wrecked each others cars and" and also "ran out of gas on a high way we walked there and i gave drunken speeches" man this is just amazing!
I love how they make songs that really mean something to them and other people can realte to them this is why i love MT and if people don't like them what reason do you have not to?
@DudeYourBrightsAreOn it was so fun when i went to thier Canadian Tour concert in Calgary. u r going to have sooo much fun. they have a whole bunch of new stuff to do
I feel sad now that I have found out, in this song when they refer to Acadia they are taking about a street rather than the french colony. When I was learning Canadian history in school I remember feeling really sad about all the issues that occurred with Acadia and I thought that it was cool that this song mentioned that. Oh well still a good song and I guess the real reason behind them saying the word Acadia also holds a lot of meaning as well ( It was the name of the road that Josh grew up on and later on it got torn down).
I went to but i saw them in Indiana. It was josh's birthday so we got his a giant cookie that said happy birthday josh. In the card one of my friends asked him to marry her. Lol oh and i also saw AAR, Gym Class heros, BOB, and Maroon 5 they were all at the same concert. I have really only been to two.
Acadia was the street Josh grew up on, his childhood house got torn down and he felt very attached to it and wrote this song! (i think thats what I read somewhere lol)
Acadia is not gone! It is in the heart of every Acadian! SO PROUD TO BE ACADIAN!
My name is Acadia :)
+ShapeShifter911 Channel How are you "Acadian"?
+Niki Edmonds An Acadian is a French Canada, so there French and Canadian, I'm Canadian but not Acadian
Alpaca King But Acadia is also a street in B.C.?
+Niki Edmonds yes it is, but Acadia is what Canada was call by the french when they first came to canada, so to keep the name Acadia they started calling them selfs Acadians to show that they where french, the street was named Acadia after the original name that was given to Canada, we have a lot of streets like that here, In the town i'm from we have a street named "Canada st.". We also have a lot of Streets named after places in the U.K
Even though he's saying "Acadia" it still reminds me of "Arcadia Bay" from Life is Strange & the ending

But yeah, Im very proud of being a canadian too
Well the song is true. And he was actually pretty fortunate. He grew up with a wealthy family with tons of opportunity. Also Acadia Rd. is real and in Van so...
Nathaniel Shoresh technically, Canada is a part of America - as in the continent north America - just not the united States
Can't believe I only just found this song ._. I've listened to Marianas Trench for almost a year now XD This song is amazing just as every othert one is!
Acadia is a street ge grew up on in Vancouver BC Canada
Cheyanne Martin did the road fall in 1712?
ME TOO
@@angelrabishaw3107 It's "REmember *when* 1712 Acadia Road fell", as in the street address 1712 *on* Acadia Road, not Acadia Road *in* the year 1712.
@@MCOmegaX123 I mean. In the song. It’s ‘remember in 1712 Acadia road fell they tore the house down’ soooo I’m not sure what you’re getting at.
@@angelrabishaw3107 The song literally says "when", not "in". You may have hearing problems
