For those who don't know, this song is based on the battle of osowiec fortress, more populary known as "the attack of the dead men" It took place in ww1 somewhere in north eastern Poland, Germans realised all deadly gases, chlorine gas, bromine, and others, in a Russian trench, and turns out, all the Russians were alive and looked a lot like zombies, the Germans were so afraid, I'm pretty sure most of them ran instead of fighting, the Russians won
yeah there was left like 60 half-alive soldiers of 325 Zemlyanskiy regiment, and about 7000 of kaiserreich infantry, but anyway germans left the battlefield for some time.
I've been a war buff for a long time. To hear the many battles and struggles immortalized in song that does them credit always makes me smile. Even covered events that most historians ignore because they aren't as grand as the large bloody conflicts.

Hm, I'm Russian, and for as long as I can remember, I recognized the "hundred men" correctly. But in truth, the chorus was the only part of the lyrics that I could more or less recognize.
It perfectly shows how people who fight for something will always prevail over people who do not these men were fighting to protect their homeland anyone would fight even if they are bleeding out
It must have been chilling for both sides on one the green yellowish wave of gas approaching your dugout and the other hearing the blood curdling screams of dedicated Russian fighters
I like how these are popping up on my recommended when my girl as well is fine with sabaton. Istg I sung her the entirety of Stormtroopers and all she said was: Your voice is js *dies*
If I remember correctly, after the Fortress finally went quiet, the Germans entered, then proceeded to get gunned down by Russians pretending to be dead next to their MG's. Actually kickass behavior

They literally were dying from being gassed, flesh peeling off, but they were so damn stubborn they continued fighting long after they should have been dead.
