You often use premade spices in your recent videos, like gochujang and harissa pasta. A video on what spice mixes are the best to keep on hand (homemade and bought) would be amazing!
+1 on this. the spices, sauces & things like kimchi, tahini, hummus, ranch etc are where the food that fuels us gets turned up a notch & your vids are great at deep diving into the details of things.
Lol at the juices flowing out as you demolosh this. Your approach to cooking help me alot with the concepts and not just a recipe. Appreciate your channel
This channel has helped me do so much more home cooking, even though I haven't made a single recipe. Just the way you show things in real time, and if you know some basic principles you don't have to be fussy about cooking. I mean if I can watch you put these meals together in 10-20 minutes INCLUDING cleaning as you go... I can do the same in the time it took me to sit here at watch it. Thanks!
Yeah, he has actually ruined other cooking channels for me now. I can't handle the rapid edits and cuts. The only one that can compare is J Kenji's POV videos. I wish more did it like Ethan because it's, as he would say, a game changer.
Pretty sure I've said it before, but the way you just wordlessly demolish the food you make in these videos really is the best kind of endorsement. No need for any flowery description of how good it tastes, just "show, don't tell".
Oh gosh. I thought I was the only one that appreciated this. This dude loves the food he's cooking and I can relate to the way he just devours it. As someone that is a 'fast' eater I relate
He always takes the most gigantic bites, like he has less than 5 minutes to eat. I mean, I'm glad he enjoys his food, but damn! And here I thought my wife inhaled her food.
You really can't trust any creator on youtube's reaction to their own food. I mean, I do trust Ethan, but it's not because of how he eats his food. It could be mediocre and he could still "wordlessly demolish" it, it could be mediocre on another channel and they could go "mm!" or throw their fork or whatever. They are *heavily* incentivized to make you think their food is delicious and their reaction/how they eat is the *easiest* thing to fake.
Ive been doing something similar for a few weeks now, some things ill recommend for people trying to make wraps like this is pickled jalapeños or banana peppers, you could also do cottage cheese in place of skyr/yogurt. A bit of honey is also always good on anything too!
I didn't know this was a new channel. Haven't seen Ethan's channel in a while and I came across this. I saw I wasn't subscribed and I thought to myself, "I swore I was subscribed to him already" didn't know this was a second channel of his lol
I've got to keep some of the resident flora on the hands 😉 In seriousness, I definitely want to do an in depth guide on bacteria, food safety, handwashing, etc. at some point. It's all about understanding percentages, temperature ranges, and identifying what you are comfortable with. I think there are a lot of misconceptions out there. Most cases of food borne illnesses are from restaurant, take out, deli style prepped foods, etc. So it be great to approach a video like that from an in depth fundamental perspective.
Also the cross contamination of bacteria onto the soap bottle container kills me every time lmao, this is why I have an automatic soap dispenser (and makes cleaning dishes so much easier)
This looks great and I’ll make it Friday for lunch 😋 only thing I feel would make it better it wrapping it in foil or parchment so the juices and bits stay in it 🤤
Living here in the the southeast, 'wraps' (i.e. burritos) can be a bit heavy (although, I am not complaining), this one is power packed. How about a layer of very thinly sliced onions under the meat as it browns. I can also see this with other meats: chicken and turkey . Cheers, Mark
Active cook time is such a good idea for cooking videos! But I think it should always be on screen while meat is cooking, even if it's in a more subtle form when not focused
I'm loving these real-time videos, which you did on your collab with Mr. Lagerstrom, but also the using up leftover strategy. I'd love to see you do a video like this, but with leftover bbq, and invite Bradley Robinson (Chud's BBQ) to join! I saw y'all bro'ing out in his ThermaPro video!
I never knew you had another channel and it always seemed odd to me that such a well produced channel had only 50k subs. makes sense now haha. also, yummy wrap I love cabbage with ground meat
Recently got a bottle of harissa because of how much I see in your video's! Haven't tried it yet but I just so happen to have some ground beef in the freezer, excited to try this recipe out!
Elk, interesting, may have to try, like idea of cooking recipe template, a "Wrap template". (Pickled cabbage, shouldn't be using bare hands to grab food out of containers if there will be some remaining in the container, you can contaminate the remaining portion, should be using a dry clean utensil.)
I wonder if adding a tiny amount of flour will affect the juiciness of this wrap, Im a fan of the juiciness but would prefer if I can make less of a mess while eating it
Perfect! I just started a new job where I'll now need to bring my own lunches, so I've been needing some inspiration. I'll definitely be adding this to the menu next week
If you were to make a bunch of the beef ahead of time for meal prep, what do you think is the best way to reheat it? Microwave it? Would love to meal prep this for work lunches but won't have time to cook the meat fresh each day........
If you didn't put the yogurt in there and just smeared it on each bite or dipped it into the yogurt you could prep several of these burritos at a time. I make about 10-15 similar style burritos that I wrap up in foil and freeze. Move the to the fridge the a day or 2 before. Put small amount oflight butter in a skillet, heat each side of the burrito til golden brown then pop in the microwave for another minute to get it good and hot without burning the wrap. (The toasting also keeps the tortilla from getting soggy)
suprised that the elk meat only took like 5 mintues to cook. When i cook ground beef it usually takes 20 mins on high heat from start to finish so that the meat can brown and for all the water to disappear so the beef can fry
Those lavash bread wraps look excellent. Going to have to hunt some down. Really pleased to see pickled red cabbage being used too. We eat a lot of it in my family but I feel it gets overlooked. Really good hot with a apple and cloves.
Could you develop recipes that have plant-based protein? Meat has gotten expensive around my area and I want to see what kinds of meals could be developed from chickpeas, lentils, blackbeans, etc. Thank you!
I'm watching recipes on different channels all the time, and I never understand how they get to the macros they mention... Going with the ingredients I can get my hands on here, quantities based on your website: - protein wrap: 188 kcal - 11g P [regular wrap: 186 kcal - 5,6g P] - 150g minced beef (we don't get elk here): 340 kcal - 30g P - 16g harissa: 19 kcal - 0,3g P - 30g 0% fat Greek yoghurt: 16 kcal - 3g P [regular Greek yoghurt: 40 kcal - 1,5g P] So without even adding the veggies, using low calorie and high protein ingredients, I'm already at 563 kcal (instead of your 463) for only 44g of protein (instead of your 54g). With regular ingredients, it's 585 kcal for only 37,4g P. Where am I going wrong?
We typically add calculation notes to most recipes if you hover over the (i) on the website. We use myfitness pal to calculate them as accurately as we can. In this case: - The Josephs Lavash bread I used was 120 calories / 12 g protein for the full thing - 150 g ground elk was really lean = 290 cal (40 g protein / 13 g fat)
Use a wooden spoon to mash up the meat on a stainless pan. That way you don't scratch your pan. Plus the meat won't go flying out of the pan. Also toast the tortilla on the pan after you make the wrap to make it a little crunchy and delicious.
I hope that thumbnails like this with the open mouth thing don't become the norm. This one isn't too bad, but I had to unfollow Not Another Cooking Show because his thumbnails were so utterly disgusting with him shoveling food into his mouth.

Thirded, easy to keep on hand sauces/spice mixtures would save me a lot of time. Especially home made ones
Ditto to this request.

Just made this tonight with lamb instead of elk/beef, and tzatziki instead of plain yogurt. Will definitely be making again
Tzatziki is the GOAT, best sauce for wraps bar none 🔥🔥🔥
Ive been doing something similar for a few weeks now, some things ill recommend for people trying to make wraps like this is pickled jalapeños or banana peppers, you could also do cottage cheese in place of skyr/yogurt. A bit of honey is also always good on anything too!
As a long time main feed viewer I am loving this new channel! Maybe even more than the other channel! I love them both for different reasons!
I didn't know this was a new channel. Haven't seen Ethan's channel in a while and I came across this. I saw I wasn't subscribed and I thought to myself, "I swore I was subscribed to him already" didn't know this was a second channel of his lol
The way you fidget with you tools and ingredients reminds me so much of myself.
This channel is a godsend and has taught me so much about cooking. I love this format Ethan keep it up!
Never stop making these videos, they are great.
I'd kill to have a kitchen as minimalist and easy to work in as that. Dreams.
Ethan's handwashing technique is always hilarious. Turn sink on. Soap on hands. Immediately wash the soap off. Then rub hands together.
Don’t wanna wash off the flavour
I've got to keep some of the resident flora on the hands 😉

I've been using those Lavash wraps for the past few months, a completely underrated option in the US, really good for cold or hot wraps.
Love it. Simplicity.
I love that you used plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Super healthy! 🎉
Im loving this format Ethan. Great job
Thanks Ethan! I lol’d at the sink close up after handling the meat.
This looks great and I’ll make it Friday for lunch 😋 only thing I feel would make it better it wrapping it in foil or parchment so the juices and bits stay in it 🤤
I made this tonight and it was incredibly good and really easy once I had the ingredients
That starting music reminds of WHY FILES everytimeeee
You should make a salty Ayran drink with that to get more protein and pairs well with spicy beef.
Love this recipe, I’m always playing around a bit.
Elk meat is so good, love seeing more foodtubers cook with it.
This is just great content. Simple is best.
Could you one day make a video about durability of prepared food? Like how long will the prepped pickled cabbage stay good?
Love Ethan's stuff, but the thumbnail for this video is absolutely hilarious.
He's not beating the allegations
looks wonderful!
Another great video Ethan! Thanks for that!
9:20 I see what you did there
Living here in the the southeast, 'wraps' (i.e. burritos) can be a bit heavy (although, I am not complaining), this one is power packed. How about a layer of very thinly sliced onions under the meat as it browns. I can also see this with other meats: chicken and turkey . Cheers, Mark

Didn't realize Ethan had this other channel... the website is really cool.

That tiny piece of uncooked beef sitting next to the pan

It was bothering me too as I watched back the footage, but that's home cooking for you!
@@CookWellEthanThanks for being human for us! lol 😊 Like, genuinely 🤗
It was so out of his line of sight! He was cleaning as he go, but didnt see it huhu haha.
I thought it's elk

Coming from the latest video on the main, loving this. Instant sub keep up the good work. 5:54

It's all acid in there, she'll be right.
These animations and designs for the recipes are great. What are you using to make them?
Home dawg added a whole sink cam and people just used it as a reason to complain MORE😂😂😂
Careful with the Joseph Lavash, the calories listed do not coordinate with the macros listed. They come out closer to 140-150 calories each.
Getting some elk ASAP
I wonder if adding a tiny amount of flour will affect the juiciness of this wrap, Im a fan of the juiciness but would prefer if I can make less of a mess while eating it
I liked this recipe…. Quick and easy, but the macros I calculated were quite a bit different than the on screen macros.
Do you have recs for Yogurt alts for Dairy? My go to would be Hummus which is always tasty, just wondering if you might have another idea?
Can you freeze them for mealprep?
yum!
Ethan, where did you get that awesome mixing bowl/container?
Ethan to the rescue with a quick, high protein meal! It's too hot to slave over the stove.
Zaa’tar would be amazing instead of the dill on the yoghurt and meat
Nice! Whats that can you are drinking?
Perfect! I just started a new job where I'll now need to bring my own lunches, so I've been needing some inspiration. I'll definitely be adding this to the menu next week

Is it greek yogurt what you're using?
What's the drink you had at the end?
A pastry blender works better for breaking apart the meat. 😊
So... a ground elk burrito?
Yum! The farmers market near me sells fresh lavash bread. I am going to make this this weekend. Glad I stumbled upon this video! I am a subscriber!

Last time bison meat this time elk meat, what's next bear meat?😭🙏
Gonna pull out some mammoth meat soon

sounds interesting do you have any other info on how to make that combo of apples and cloves with hot pickled cabbage?
I like this series, but that jingle makes it sound like you're doing an undercover expose on the food industry 😛
How does his ground meat not get super watery in the pan? Whenever I try to cook ground meat like that there’s so much liquid.
Each lavash bread is 2 servings

Is this Ethans new channel?
I have so many ideas for that crazy thumbnail.

Just use any ground meat. Let me get my ground Elk🤣
Hi Ethan, is that the hideously expensive Breville Induction Burner? It looks bigger than I thought. Is there a review coming from you?
can you do more recipes without special ingredients (high protein bread or low carb low calorie), they're really unavailable/not affordable outside US
man, why you hide this channel from us? thank the youtube algo gods for showing me this
I'm watching recipes on different channels all the time, and I never understand how they get to the macros they mention...
Going with the ingredients I can get my hands on here, quantities based on your website:
- protein wrap: 188 kcal - 11g P [regular wrap: 186 kcal - 5,6g P]

- 16g harissa: 19 kcal - 0,3g P
- 30g 0% fat Greek yoghurt: 16 kcal - 3g P [regular Greek yoghurt: 40 kcal - 1,5g P]
So without even adding the veggies, using low calorie and high protein ingredients, I'm already at 563 kcal (instead of your 463) for only 44g of protein (instead of your 54g). With regular ingredients, it's 585 kcal for only 37,4g P.

He is eating a “Matza” actually
The meat that fell out was enough to give a mouse at least 2 lbs of lean muscle gains.
"Lah-Vahsh"
I am making this for my lunch right now! I didn't have any harrissa so I used gochujang.

Great vid as always Ethan!
Would love a steak video. Ribeye, strip steak, tenderloin!
Get a pump for soap at the sink. You won't regret it.
But where is the lemon juice?
I came across your pickled onion video a few weeks ago, they have become a must have in my fridge.
You and Oscar Meza from La Capital almost need an MPAA rating when you eat...and that burrito pose is hilarious
The cross contamination is killing me. Touching the raw meat off the masher and then grabbing the cabbage with his hands, wow just wow.
