I’m not gonna lie with you guys, I actually really enjoyed Sing. And yes, I also agree that Despicable Me 2 was definitely the best sequel illumination has ever made.

After watching them again recently, I can say that all the despicable me and minions movies are actually better than you’d think, they’re pretty okay and the reason we don’t like minions becomes a lot less clear when you stop hating minions and realize they aren’t that bad (We don’t need to pretend to not like kids movies)

I think Secret Life of Pets 2 should’ve at least be put in C or B tier. D tier that’s lower than Minions was a little unfair, tbh. But again, it his just his opinion.
Honestly, I can't say that despicable me is bad. The movie has a simple yet exciting and fun plot, the characters are all fairly likable, with only a couple exceptions, the bond between Gru and the girls feels genuine, their emotional beats have actual weight to them, and the climax genuinely has stakes. Yeah, its not perfect, but its still pretty good and a lot of fun.
Honestly Despicable Me 1 was a genuinely good movie to me; it was before Illumination realized they didn’t need to try to make money. EDIT: Oh, and Vector plays a Wii, he has good taste.
I genuinely thought that I never had watched the secret life of pets 2, cause i didn’t think it was that good, but once you explained the plot as vaguely as possible, I managed to remember every piece of the movie you talked about. I remembered walking in the living room, about to watch it with my family, and then the next memory of the movie was the credits. It was THAT forgettable, that i thought that i never watched it for 3+ years.

I remember Hop exists, I don't remember Secret Life 2. Granted, I never remember that Hop is Illumination, because it's not animated like they always do, but I still remember it over Secret Life 2.

The worst thing about the lorax is that it potentially had everything it needed to perfectly tell the message, but due to meddling, they forced the messages out. Thankfully, the scrapped songs were still put into the soundtrack and it makes the movie even worse by comparison

Sing was one of my favourite illumination films, and thats coming from someone who isnt really into films that involve a lot of singing. The whole premise of the film is a singing competition, however, its much more than just a competition to the characters. Johnny is by far my favourite of the characters from the film. And the second film is a rare example of a sequel that is also as good as the first one. I genuinely loved the performances in the second film, mostly johnny and ashely/calloway. Thats my opinion anyway
I liked the first Despicable Me movie when it first came out. The first movie plot is more memorable than the second or third or any other movie related and I really like it to this day. Probably the best Illumination movie. I actually liked the minions idea in the movie, but after the first movie, it only declined with minions becoming popular cashgrabs and being so annoying to see right now.
I used to like hop when I was like 5 or 7 or something but now it’s just an abomination and a piece of rainbows vomiting on a dumpster, the only thing I like is the bunny cuz it’s cute but the rest is bad like the bunny girl singing what the heck but I also feel bad for her
I personally really like Sing and Sing 2 and didn't see anything wrong with them. I saw the movies as an inspirational and the second one seemed even more thought out then the first. I actually enjoyed most of these movies though I didn't like Secret life of pets of that much

I honestly agree, I think sing 2 is better because they use amazing songs like "It coulda been me" That song is powerful and very upbeat. Especially when Porsha sang it. It also hinted when she said "I can't hear you, I don't fear you" that she was speaking to her father.

Watching Hop felt like a fever dream; the whole plot and how it was executed was extremely wacky and goofy. Man, even the ending made me feel emotions I can’t describe. Truly one of the movies of all time.

In my opinion, despicable Me 2 is terrible. Despicable Me 3 is a bit better, I did enjoy Balthazar Bratt and Gru the most. But every other character was just mid at best, I've never been a minions guy tbh

@@Kanata_Satou honestly the kung-fu subplot was a so-so filler. Wasn't really necessary but it somehow helped in the end? They did not had to make whole scenes for that and instead could've slapped a training montage or something of the sorts. That's my opinion to be honest.

Sing 2 was really good to be fair, I loved how they expanded the world and showed more of the song world itself and how the big hits get treated by the wolf
Secret Life of Pets 2 is truly the most forgettable movie I've ever seen, until you mentioned the crazy circus man with the gun I forgot that I had even seen this movie.
It’s kind of more of a streaming movie and I honestly am disappointed because I was extremely excited that the movie could’ve had more emotional/exciting moments in the movie. But of course the writers played it safe. Here’s to hoping that if they make a Secret Life of Pets 3, they would actually take risks and make it geared more towards adults than kids and have more action, emotional moments, and violence (obviously it doesn’t have to be R-rated).
I give Lorax an A since it was really fun to watch for my first few times and it had a really good storyline to it which made it good. Also had to watch it in school twice thanks to my social studies teacher for letting us watch it on the last week of school

I agree with the lorax ranking (E tier btw) because I literally thought I never watched the lorax before, but because of this video, I finally remembered the plot, it is really forgettable, idk, just my opinion (I did not take this opinion from the video.)
Blue Sky Studios would be interesting to break down, since they were similar to Illumination in more ways than intentionally realized (mascot from their flagship franchise, milking their said flagship franchise to death, at least 1 Dr. Suess animated adaption, at least 1 other adaption of existing media, and a overall forgettable film library), hell if anything Blue Sky was even more forgettable since at least the people that shit on Illumination are common enough to the point that it's kinda vocal, especially towards the upcoming Mario Movie. I didn't hear too much fuss about besides their Ice Age sequels (after 3 at earliest), hell Illumination even has more memes than Blue Sky does.
Watching Hop again, I have one question; how is the chicken the villain? The dude works day in and day out for the Easter bunny, and clearly deserves the job more than the spoiled brat bunny who wants nothing to do with the business. The only reason I even see him become evil is because of his treatment from the Easter bunny. I think the movie even realized this in the end when the human character becomes the easter furry for no real reason at all.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 is just so forgettable for me. It's like Shrek the Third (although I'd say even that movie is more enjoyable than many of these).

Don't get your hopes up. We still haven't seen the plot or writing of the film yet. I am gonna be cautiously optimistic that it's despicable me 1 levels of quality because I really want it to succeed since I like the Mario franchise and I really think Nintendo will make sure it's good
Personally, i think that Despicable me was underrated in this, i’d say it’s one of the most iconic illumination movies, and gru is a badass ngl. I can agree with the scores of 3 but 1 and 2 were awesome. Nonetheless this was very interesting and a good watch so thanks 😅

Welp, first James Marsden had to work with a rabbit who loves to play drums. Fast forward, he worked with a certain blue hedgehog that we all know and love.
Sing wasn't that bad. Especially Taron Egerton killing it with his cover of I'm Still Standing, which he would later perform when he played Elton John in Rocketman.
The final performance songs are literally the best part of "Sing". The subplots add literally nothing to the main plot and character development is just too... rushed. "Sing" wasn't that good, but yes, it is still enjoyable if you choose to enjoy it.
As a movie, Sing was fucking awful. Adding popular songs at the end of the movie doesn’t change anything 😅. And don’t even start on the sequel that film makes me want to end it all.

From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God. Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!
I actually agree with 99% of this list. Despicable Me 2 is definitely the best sequel, although Vector is probably still the best villain with El Macho as a close second.

No joke, my girlfriend was more excited for the second minions movie than Thor: Love and Failure. Hell, she had one hell of a blast when we watched Minions 2 while I was just miserable, begging for the sweet relief of death.

Hop released when i was in middle school. I thought it would be a good idea to take my friend- now fiancée to see it... in theaters. She and I both agree and laugh at the fact that THAT was our first outing outside school.
The minions spent there entire life finding a boss, but when they find some random ice cave they stop? Must just be a history rewriting of the true horrors of the minions.
Despecible Me 2 was also really good and well thought out. I wasn’t a huge fan of the secret life of pets (even when I was around 10 when I first watched it). I’ve never watched the sequel of the pets movie. Both Sings were alright. The Lorax was my childhood and I enjoyed going back to it. Despicable Me 3 wasn’t very good, but I actually enjoyed the Minions tbh. Minions Rise of Gru was alright, but people give it way to much credit. I mean come on! The plot was mid and the villains were the worst thing on the planet. I guess the nostalgia characters were cool to see.

Sing was one of my favourite illumination films, and thats coming from someone who isnt really into films that involve a lot of singing. The whole premise of the film is a singing competition, however, its much more than just a competition to the characters. Johnny is by far my favourite of the characters from the film. And the second film is a rare example of a sequel that is also as good as the first one. I genuinely loved the performances in the second film, mostly johnny and ashely/calloway. Thats my opinion anyway

I liked the first Despicable Me movie when it first came out. The first movie plot is more memorable than the second or third or any other movie related and I really like it to this day. Probably the best Illumination movie. I actually liked the minions idea in the movie, but after the first movie, it only declined with minions becoming popular cashgrabs and being so annoying to see right now.

I honestly agree, I think sing 2 is better because they use amazing songs like "It coulda been me" That song is powerful and very upbeat. Especially when Porsha sang it. It also hinted when she said "I can't hear you, I don't fear you" that she was speaking to her father.

Blue Sky Studios would be interesting to break down, since they were similar to Illumination in more ways than intentionally realized (mascot from their flagship franchise, milking their said flagship franchise to death, at least 1 Dr. Suess animated adaption, at least 1 other adaption of existing media, and a overall forgettable film library), hell if anything Blue Sky was even more forgettable since at least the people that shit on Illumination are common enough to the point that it's kinda vocal, especially towards the upcoming Mario Movie.
I didn't hear too much fuss about besides their Ice Age sequels (after 3 at earliest), hell Illumination even has more memes than Blue Sky does.

The final performance songs are literally the best part of "Sing". The subplots add literally nothing to the main plot and character development is just too... rushed. "Sing" wasn't that good, but yes, it is still enjoyable if you choose to enjoy it.

Despecible Me 2 was also really good and well thought out. I wasn’t a huge fan of the secret life of pets (even when I was around 10 when I first watched it). I’ve never watched the sequel of the pets movie. Both Sings were alright. The Lorax was my childhood and I enjoyed going back to it. Despicable Me 3 wasn’t very good, but I actually enjoyed the Minions tbh. Minions Rise of Gru was alright, but people give it way to much credit. I mean come on! The plot was mid and the villains were the worst thing on the planet. I guess the nostalgia characters were cool to see.
