calathea need very high humidity...you can make any soil mix as long as its well draining and rich but humidity matters alot :) which city are you from ? the leaves are curled and there are many factors ...low humdidity ,direct sun,heat,cold etc ..its good your using rain water ..direct tap water is indeed bad for them :)..if the leaves remained curled for long those leaves will die :(
@@leafingit it's my fav . I am also growing one . Started from 3 small leaves. By the way , can we mix coco husk and sphagnum moss and stag them inside a moss pole? As moss alone is quite expensive
@@sentimoto9484 Yes I guess that works too but the water retention properties of husk is less than coco chip. I think coco chips are a better alternative.

Calatheas prefer filtered water rather than tap water, you can try doing that
