Of course , They are the Transponder for ATS . In other words , They're an Induction-Loop for transmitting electrical signals to the vehicle's safety devices ( = ATS , Automatic Train Stop ) . It is used in 2 or more and Pair Loops determines the Speed from the Time it passes between them. ( The Time seems to be set at 0.5 seconds for most ) If the ATS finds Train has Exceeded the Speed-Limit at a Traffic-Signal or Curve , the ATS will apply the Emergency-Brake . The Orange Pairs are special.
They're placed BEFORE Sharp Curves and Junction’s Important Signal. If the train was going through Orange and It was going too fast to Slow down to the Speed-Limit ( or Red Signal ) , The Emergency-Brake is applied at that point.
I just have to wonder, why so many private tracks are on Standard gauge? Keisei, Takarazuka, and now Eizan. Or is it the cause and effect reversed? Did JR jettison 1435mm tracks because they wanted to focus on 1036mm? I think Keisei at least always was private, but what about others?
That's because in the past , the 1435mm railroads opend as "" Tram "" or "" Street-Car "". In 1872 , When Japan's first railway opened between Shimbashi - Yokohama with 1067mm [ 3ft6in ] , A Law was made : ・ALL Japanese ""RAILWAYS"" must be 1067mm ( Nothing else is allowed ) ・Private railways must not be built in the same location as "" Japanese Government Railways "" ( = JR ) That was good for the JR , But It restricted Private Railroads from building railroads at will. For example , If a private railroad wanted to ・Opening at 1435mm → Strong Motor , Large vehicle , More mass transportation ・Operate as an "" Inter-Urban "" → more people than in the suburbs The goverment did not allow them . So the Private Railroads thought : Not if it's a ""RAILWAYS"" , but what if it's a "" Tram "" or "" Street-Car "" ? With this idea , Hanshin , Hankyu , Keikyu , Keisei , Keihan etc..... opend their railroads as "" Tram "" or "" Street-Car "" with 1372mm or 1435mm . In other words , Private Railroads were Free to operate by pretending to be Tram !! That is the reason why There are so many standard gauges in Private railways ( and groups ). By the way , The Reason why the "" Japanese Government Railways "" ( = JR ) could not change the gauge from 1067mm was because ・The Cost was too expensive , remodeling freight wagons, coaches, locomotives , railway track ...... ・In 1918 , Rice Riots ( recession ) caused the cancellation of the project

Fantastic journey! Really great scenery. Enjoyed every minute of this! Thanks!
Had this journey back in December 2019.
I hate to ask, but while you were in Kyoto, did you happen to pass by where Kyoto Animation Studio 1 was?
What are the small white or pink pads along the inside of the left rail at various locations?

Thanks for sharing video 👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing I have enjoyed watching it
Very good video!
Another beaut video. 👍 The chances of seeing a train this stylish in Sydney, Oz? Sadly, Zero or none! 🐨🇦🇺
Absolute zero in Forgotten Queensland, the bit outside South East Queensland. Three trains per day, all running late.

That's because in the past ,

I miss Kyoto
The people that live next to the tracks in aunz's videos must be sound sleepers.
The trains don't run 24/7 you know. Though early morning it may be a bit hard to sleep without earplugs.
