Thanks for that as was about to grab one thinking the base could hold up an iPad. Did you try flipping that base so it’s pointed the other way to help move the centre of gravity? I’m after using mine in a similar way to you

I like your review. Ty. This stand worked for my ipad mini and phone but it's cause they don't weigh so much. I don't like that I have to take the cover out like you did but oh well.🤷🏻‍♀️

I have this stand for my iPad which is in a case (no cover, the case protects the back and sides). I bought the stand in December 2021. The total weight of my iPad is about 1.5 pounds or 665 grams, measurements are almost 10.25 inches or 26 centimetres by almost 7.25 inches or 18 centimetres. The stand clamp fits well and holds the iPad securely. The stand base is heavy for its size. I can extend the arm of the stand so it is completely vertical and the stand is stable even when I touch the iPad screen. It appears that the tipping over problem shown in this video relates to the extreme angle of the fully extended arm. I am not sure what this gentleman is trying to do. If he wanted the screen lower than it would be with a fully extended arm, he could bend the arm to maintain the centre of gravity over the base to prevent the stand from tipping over. All to say, my experience with the stand is entirely positive when using my iPad for FaceTime calls with my family across the country. I would not hesitate to recommend this stand to someone with a similarly sized iPad.

if you could clamp it to the desk it would be fine or screw it in, but a stand by itself yah base would have to be 1.5x heavier then the item its holding to be used as most people will use it
