What a great insightful video - thank you. I actually listened to it end to end, then went back, took notes AND stopped around 9 min to write down my current beliefs, feelings and behavior.
I asked myself why I wasn't in a relationship and what I instinctively wrote down, ended up being BS
This is what the work is all about - stop lying to ourselves and get down to the truth...
So I asked my subconscious the same question and went on to do something else.
And lo and behold... the answer came to me.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I wanted to express all this in a comment so others may do the same.
What a gift this video was - I don't want people to pass it by 💝

YES!!! I LOVE THIS!! Proud of you for taking a moment to pause and look within. For years I was stuck chasing the outside so I could change my life, but the only thing that changed it was doing exactly what you just shared! This takes courage and shows how strong you are! Keep going!!!

As a therapist we call it “confirmation bias” confirming the inner limiting beliefs due to past trauma. Thus perceiving life through that lens so every-time something happens its used to confirm the bias (limiting belief) as true..

Yesterday… for the first time… a crappy TH-cam reading enforcing my prior beliefs DID NOT resonate with me….. it did not sit right to believe that I would have to experience an old dynamic yet again. The change is starting to take root …. I have a ways to go, but I am on the right track.

Hi Abby, I found Dr Joe's work in 2018 and it profoundly changed who I am. I tried so many different approaches & modalities over 30 years but it wasn't until I read and implemented "Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself" that I was able to change deeply entrenched trauma patterns. I love the way you explain the work and use examples from your life. Great video!

The things you talk about regarding how you were in regard to relationships is all EXACTLY what I believed when I was old self. I started consciously creating in January and have uncovered the thoughts, assumptions, and beliefs I had about myself for years, even when I was "confident". I was always carrying around so much from the past, and now I see the unfavorable patterns and loops I created in my life. You explain it very clearly, thank you.
I see exactly what I manifested with my ex. Literally everything I was believing about myself, my crappy self concept, about him...everything mirrored back. I was so afraid of him abandoning me even though he loved me so much, and in the end he left. This is how I trust conscious manifestation so much. Because I KNOW that it can't only work with the sh*tty things you don't want; that would be absurd to assume. It doesn't only work in one direction. I am choosing new self every day, and know that everything is only going up from here.

As you’ve stated, it’s not easy, it’s simple to understand but the challenge is to keep doing it consistently enough for your new behavior/way of thinking and acting to become your desired personality is the difficult part, not in complexity but in discipline.
The reward for the effort is final success! After which no further efforts are necessary because one’s become a different person, one to whom the new personality is automatic, just as the previous one had been…

Basically is change your actions. But not sure if it is that simple.
my old self: "talk in public, face burns, wannd go home"
my new self: "talk in public, feels comfortable, wanna staty more time...."
ahhhh no I don't think so. My face is not gonna stop from burn just because I want.

    • @AbbyRuston
      @AbbyRuston  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Well it's not just changing actions. It's changing a state of being which is Thoughts, feelings and actions. If you only try to act differently, your still thinking and feeling in the old state which makes that action incredibly scary and it could actually feel dangerous. This is what a lot of people do. They try to force it, I use to as well. The glue of what is holding the beliefs that fuel your negative feelings is my unconsciously holding the same perspective of yourself of the event that caused the wound. When you learn to see yourself differently in painful old experiences, the glue to the belief starts to dissolve.. it makes feeling and thinking new things SO much easier. I go into more detail about this process in this video if you want to check it out th-cam.com/video/BDJCjnMwkcQ/w-d-xo.html
