I HATE "take the shot"ers . Most useless com in the game and exclusively used by Ball chase players with zero patience and zero game sense.
I use it against people who sit in net when im trying to pass
@@ShadowWolf2508plays that still leaves the question, why are you trying to pass to a passive team mate? , how does the qc change their behaviour? and is this GC and above (it can't be if you got net sitters) then why bother at lower ranks no one is ready for passes at lower levels!
@@BuzzaB77 gotta remember most of us are plat-diamond and we very much get net sitters, inconsistent ones too, you'll play half a match and think you've figured them out, then you take the ball and they follow you up field, then you dish up the perfect pass and as you turn around you see they left and are sat in net out of no where
and you say no one is ready for passes at lower levels but i've seen, dished up, and received more passes in plat-diamond than i've ever seen in like champ games, folks forget but we're not dumb, just inexperienced, we know passing is good we're just not the best at it so we cant dime up someone like a GC can but that doesnt mean we can't pass!
@@ImMimicuteIf they're not comfortable taking a passing play for what ever reason then learn how to do solo plays. You're not going to teach someone to play differently by using quick chats

and you're not wrong about if they're not comfortable with passing plays but the problem is they can spend 3:30 being perfectly fine with passing plays then suddenly spook and stop and they just dont communicate this
It goes to show that it happens at multiple ranks, teammates making bad plays and expecting someone to always be able cover for it.
For me it’s the whole game for 5 games then one game I pop off. I have even won 2v3 when a teammate rage quit. That should a competitive mode 1 v 2 & 2 v 3, you queue into which you want to be 2 or 3 in and would recommend which would be queued up. I am only low plat. My air skills and flips are irrelevant I can’t control well.
I feel like everyone has been on both sides of the situation. Felt like teammate should have had something covered, and also should have had something covered ourselves. But maybe that's just me?

I was playing standard 2s for a warm up and the dude kept spamming “take the shot”. When it was blatantly obvious when I couldn’t as I would just open the field for the opponents. He also kept hard cutting when it was not needed. He was an ssl and told me to kms.
What black magic did he do to get up to ssl like that xd

i had a game a year or 2 ago where the guy kept spamming take a shot ever time he put the ball above the goal ended up having 8 more game with him and the people form the other team they started doing the same thing to him

Overall, I think you've been pretty lucky in terms of teammates. It's especially painful when you get them again the next match or the next day as a tmate and they wont play.
Sometimes they pass out the ball and just leave the play, and when you fail to save it moments later; they insist you are awful and stop trying with 4:30 left.
I love Rocket League conceptually. But I hate how it's been managed by Epic, and how pathetic some of the community acts.
I have an idea for a vid. Everytime you hit the ball, the ball's gamemode changes. So for example, if you hit the ball the ball might become a heatseeker ball, then when it gets hit again it becomes a puck. But the ball's model doesnt change from the original ball, so it might start bouncing around like a beachball then suddenly start bouncing around like a cube.

@@DanielDeisenhammer looks like a champ 1 max 2 lobby to me, i ve been gc1 for abot 3 months in eu and na lobby looks so weak, ofc there are exceptions and good players in gc in na too but eu is much sweatier imo and harder
Lots of players get aggressive during the last minute if they are down. He thought you would play like him.
Although i do agree that team mates often expect you to be a God, i do feel that the way Leth was playing in GC2 is way to dumbed down. I do feel the end game was thrown by leth due to the lack of play and chances not taken. He played almost worse than most C2 players and this is in GC2.
His consistency and the way he positions and plays around teamies is definitely not C2...

I still think there is a difference between EU servers and NA servers.. I might try NA servers out bec if they play like this i can even win with a high ping

The disadvantage of me not playing by using pad is that I cant peak at other cars - i noticed that Leth is doing peaks using right analogue stick quite often to ensure the positions of opponents.
yeah I also play on kbm and this is something I notice a lot, also not being able to control throttle makes ground play a little difficult
Something I always notice when watching my rank and below in these types of videos, none of you play like the people in that rank.. Everyone just stays on the ground and tries to take smart plays and not be mechanical which is not at all how those ranks play and leads to confused and frustrated teammates. I get that y'all are coaching decision making to get people to rank up I'm just saying you can and should be going for a lot more flashy plays, just miss some-most of them ;)
It also feels a bit unfair taking the non mech route, because y'all are subconsciously using your experience to predict movement and position yourself to win scenarios, and no matter how many of these vids we watch it's hard to make that your instinct without experiencing it first hand as many times as you all have. All the way to like gc1 the majority of people are playing on pure instinct and not thinking for even a second of the match.
Whenever I watch one of these videos as entertaining as they are, throughout every match I spend the whole time thinking "bro not me or anyone in my rank would have ever played it like that".
I will never understand why EU lobbys are so much harder and sweatier than the NA ones, i ve been gc in eu for a few months and those lobbys from the video looked like champ 1 to high champ 2 lobbys max.
Im not saying na players are shit or things like that bcs thats not the case im talking about the average lobby ofc there are very good gc players in NA too but it still looks like my champ lobby from 1 year ago to me.

I don't really like these video's, you're in GC and playing as if you're silver just to explain your reasoning etc. Not going on obvious balls that a diamond would go for. This kind of gameplay is not helpful whatsoever.

You'd be surprised how often players think that ypu waiting for the ball to be in a better spot means you'll never go any ball. Or that every mid pass is shootable.
I like to picture these kids picking up their half empty 6th can of g-fuel right after spamming this, that’s why he was afk for the save.
Today my mate wanted to ff right as we got the 2:3 with over 2 mins left. He then stopped playing and i wrote "lol". He then started to flame me and said cry more... even though obviously he was the one who was crying. This is some special kind of stupidity. It's just a lot of kids who have no mental capacities at all.
I have chat only for teammates because of all the toxicity, but now chat is completely off.

I dont know what they expect after blaming their teammates for making a "mistake". Get bumped accidentally, while being on 0 - 1? Yeah lets just throw the match entirely. I would understand this behavior if they were plats, but no, they have some fancy grand champ titles..... More like plat10. At least I get some free wins i guess
Got gc rewards yesterday for the first time, I got kinda lucky with teammates because all the games I won I played a little (too much) defensively, but they were wholesome and just popped off and accepted I made some mistakes. Got the wins in the end! So sometimes the soloqueue can be a little wholesome!
*cooks the other team using proper positioning, high level mechs and car control* *wont score the goal on a diamond level shot because we're trying to play the level* I honestly felt you played too slow in general, gc2 didnt look or feel different than champ, other than mechs. so many missed reads and poor decisions, but i dont think you realize how efficient you are as an ssl that you cant fake. perfect touches, boost control, rotation, youre really still doing those at a high level, and to compensate seem to miss something that anyone at that level would actually hit.
It's a shame that epic has asked you guys to stop making the road to SSL videos, these videos expose that kind of hot garbage going on in ranked. But what you're starting to see in GC and is what we plebes have been dealing with for at least a year and epic sees fit to do nothing about it. Fight the good fight, call it out for what it is

I'm usually creating the chances in a game either passing or scoring myself, we get scored on because my tm8 wiffs the ball.

I'm used to those throwaways being taken by better players, because it should be pounced on. In hindsight (which I do mention) the opponent was way further back than I assumed!

He has these vids in a playlist on the channel and he’s went through diamond already. Try watching those
Solid shooting and especially defense is all you need to get up to champ or even GC. Do defense, shadow defense and shooting training packs, you'll notice improvement in your games.
In terms of game sense, just try to not be in the same position as your mates and look at the car position/nose direction of the challenging opponents to guess what they might or might not be able to do with the ball. When defending try to go backpost so you can cover the whole net, use backboard to clear high shots. Don't give the opponents space with the ball, close the gap and force a shot or shadow defend if you're last man, stall for time, bring the ball into a corner.
If you just lose all your games in diamond, I'm sure you can get out of it and head back down into platinum!

@@FREQQLESRoad to SSLs are not what incentivized smurfing, smurfing has always existed in every game! And smurfing is the act of intentionally staying low to play lower level players, I've only played around 80 games or so in this series across 2 playlists
@@Lethamyr Sorry, road to "GC" in the beginning. It's against ToS (steam only days) but RL started looking the other way because of the content creators doing it. Even Gibbs did it lmao. Then countless people started doing it as either a meme or to emulate you guys. Smurfing was way more taboo before these series started. I was there, playing. I saw the shift. That's why I said "normalised". None of that has mattered since Epic though. They stopped caring after that.

If it's 3s, it works. They end up leaving and then you can safely 2v3 instead of 2v4.

Except me if you are and remain plat. I'll think less of you. If you can live with that, you'll be fine. Besides, if you're good enough you'll just win the mmr back within the next few minutes or next session anyway.

i swear to god im high gc1 low gc2 in 2s in eu and the level of gameplay is not even close to eu in this video it may sound like im coping and leth is just making it look easy but trust me i know enough about the game to know same lobbies in eu are much harder everyone is much speedier and you dont have any time on the ball and the amount of rotational mistakes in the first game by the opponents is crazy i wish my opponents made as much mistakes

Another reason is that watching a replay or a video of a match is letting you take more info so you can make better, quicker decisions than if you were playing.

I kinda see where you’re coming from but fakes are a big part of high RL gameplay and Leth made the right choice
@@ForceOfNature45 He was close enough to the ball to hit it. He could’ve jumped once too. Even if leth got faked, he was vertical to the ball, and the opponent was too. It would’ve went to the left. That’s a very easy block. He just stopped all momentum and blocked nothing.

I dont understand how someone saying Okay. is so insulting to you. I know everyone feels this way when their teammate says anything in quick chat you auto assume its directed toxicity at you. Maybe my autism just makes everything so black and white to me but it makes no sense. I say nice shot when the enemy scores a good shot and my teammate tells me to kill myself and abandons the game. This guy just says okay after he, himself messes up. It feels so egotistical to assume everything anyone says in quick chat is an insult to you. Not trying to bash on Leth, i love his content and hes a great guy, I just see this pattern and dont understand it so if anyone has any insight on this, please help me so i can communicate in rocket league without being assumed toxic all the time
What rank are you? I’ve been sitting around plat 2-diamond 1 and trust me everyone is egotistical and toxic. I played a game yesterday where I missed a shot on net because the other team defended and this guy for the next 4 minutes was throwing the game. He was quick chatting nice shot the whole game too and I thought he was talking to the other team but it was actually at me the whole game. Whenever anyone says okay. In RL it really only ever means 1 of 2 things. Okay (Welp that sucks) or okay. (Wow I can’t believe you did that.)
oh trust me most of the time its pointed towards you thats the sad reality of people not being able to get over their own egos and realize they are not perfect players and that they also make mistakes and probably the worst rank for this kind of behaviour is diamond or champ once you get into gc people start respecting you a little more but you still have some bad apples
@@Flowst-p7x yupppppppp it’s the unfortunate reality of playing almost any online multiplayer game as well you get people who love to just stir the pot and make people angry for no reason or they get a kick out throwing a game just because they know it’ll annoy someone

@@frymasterlov and 1 thing i realised is that if you want to rank up u cant be toxic to your teammates ever because it will just ruin the mood of trying to win from both sides i say you have like 20% higher chance to lose if you or your teammate is toxic

I stopped playing with randoms entirely because, at least in diamond/champ, if you arent winning in the first 2 minutes my teammates will just ff, and if you dont vote with them they grief and troll the rest of the time. This is probably about 40% of my (losing) games, even if it's only by 1. Sad to see that it will still be there even if I rank up. 🫠
