    I remember when a player would get injured and the team would announce how many weeks the player would be out and, most of the times , the player would come back in target. All of a sudden they only give the time when the player will be “re-evaluated”. What am I missing?

    • @C.Riggs14
      @C.Riggs14 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Over the past few seasons, players have come back too quick from certain injuries and aggravated or re-injure themselves. Like when KD came back for the Finals with Golden State vs. TORONTO.. I believe the organizations want them to be more cautious about returning to action..Especially with the high intensity of the Playoffs coming up.. But KD at 70% is still better than a lot of guys at 100. Lol

      Mike Williams from the LA Chargers the same way….high ankle sprain and was supposed to come back in 5 weeks and came back in 4 due to trying to make the playoffs and aggravated his ankle again. I know the media and job security plays a role in players wanting to come back before fully rehabbing their injury

    Why would a guy like Durant, who has all these previous injuries be on the floor with low top or 3/4 top sneakers. Seems to me he would want to protect his frail ass as much as possible...

    • @snuffysmif9801
      @snuffysmif9801 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly! It seems like KD would adapt to doing what Steph does to protect his fragile ankles after all them injuries, by always sporting high tops & ankle braces.

    KD has not been the same since the Dubs Raptors finals. Even after coming back he has not had his old burst towards the rim. Even his J is different from 2017,18 season. He is not the same player.

    • @freshazeyeiz4378
      @freshazeyeiz4378 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. I don't understand why more people don't notice that. But it's understandable, 1) he's older, & 2)
      He ruptured his Achilles. That's what happens. Believe me I know because I've had the same injury. Bunnies & speed burst disappear. Grant it, he has recovered from that injury better than anybody I've ever seen in my life but he'll never be the same. He'll never be that old "(You know who I am)" KD again. It is what it is. But having said that, he's still HIM & a top 5 player in the NBA. That's the crazy/insane part.
      I wish him well..... except for when he plays against the LAKERS

      Ankle is meant to flex sideways the knee is not. That pressure if he lands has to go somewhere and if your ankle is locked it will go to the next joint on the leg which is the knee. Much rather have an ankle bend too much than a knee.

      Whaaaat? Sorry, but you must have never had a grade 2 or 3 sprain... Those are not only serious, they often need surgery, & can take months or even years to feel normal again. And some never completely do. Hell, after some 15 months my grade 2 would flop over on me, like KD's did if I simply stepped on a pebble the wrong way. And even with tight boots on.

      Studies show there really isn’t a significant difference. Ankle injuries are often unlucky.

    • @johnnysteelalpha7713
      @johnnysteelalpha7713 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The force of landing on the side of the shoe has to go somewhere - if his ankle is locked that force will travel more to the knee vs the ankle and the knee isn’t meant to withstand lateral pressure like the ankle. Best thing to do is heavy yoga and ankle flexibility / strengthening exercise to be less vulnerable to an ankle turning over.
