  • Can you believe the generosity of some people?! My buddy ran across this, and since he knew I was a HUGE Star Wars fan, he gifted it to me! What a great Christmas gift. Today we're looking at a vehicle I had (and loved) when I was ten-year old kid: the Rebel Armored Snowspeeder from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. I can't wait to see how it survived since 1982. Let's get into this! #EmpireStrikesBack #Snowspeeder #Vintage

      Right?! I was so shocked when I saw how pristine the interior was, especially after seeing how ratty the exterior box was. I DEFINITELY gonna display it in some fashion in the studio. Thanks for dropping by and watching yet again, Reynolds!

      Thanks, James! As A guy who has no "vintage" Star Wars items, and never thought he would, I was pretty excited to have this. Thanks for stopping by and watching the video!

      I was so appreciative and surprised when my friend Todd said he wanted to give it to me! What a great thing for him to do, otherwise I would NEVER have something like this in my collection! Thanks for checking out the video, Wookie!

    Score!!!!!!!! I remember my brother got that Snowspeeder and I got the Falcon and a Scout walker Christmas 1982...they were broken and missing parts by Easter... lol.

      Right, Jay?! I had this and my brother had a TIE fighter! Man, the epic battles... But I was super careful with mine, but within months his TIE fighter was missing almost everything haha! Thanks for stopping by and watching the videos yet again, Jay!

      Thanks, Tim! I was thrilled to have it! I am definitely leaning towards displaying it outside of the box in some fashion, but not applying the stickers or putting the pieces on. We shall see. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video!

      @PaulsCollectibles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right, VI?! That's one of the main reasons I don't even try to collect the vintage stuff: TOO TOO expensive! I was so thrilled to have Todd even think about me to give this to. I feel fortunate to have it. Thanks for watching again, VI!

      Thanks, Francisco! I was pretty excited about it myself when my friend said he was going to gift it to me. I had one of these in 1980 at age 10 and it was one of my favorite ships! It's great to have it again! Thanks for stopping by again, Francisco!

      Also a good suggestion, Mark! I'm so torn between keeping it in its original form, and displaying it partially or fully put together. I'm giving myself a couple weeks to weigh all the suggestions given to me here before I decide. Thanks for stopping in and checking out the video!

      You can get a loose vintage Snow Speeder complete fairly inexpensive. What you have is more rare. Bagged in the original packaging is pretty primo. Get a second loose one to display side by side!

    You could probably put it together and display it with the box behind it, maybe elevated a bit. It would be cool to see the stickers on it as well but they probably wont stay on long at this point. If you don't mind altering it, you could find someone to paint on the details the stickers would add (but I also understand wanting to keep it in original condition).

      Oh, there's a good idea as well, Darth! I don't plan on trying to sell or trade it, so I might just do that. I just have to get over my aversion to opening things as in-box collector! haha! Thanks for stopping by again and checking out the video!

    Somewhere....probably a landfill....lies the broken crushed remains of the Snowspeeder I got for Christmas that year. I can only hope it has an Atari E.T. game cartridge to keep it company. I got to play with it in the snow of Maine like it was really Hoth. It never had a chance to make it to the now time. But I lived! Oh how I lived! I covered my GI Joes in clay so Storm Shadow could actually stab them and make cuts lol. I Also set one up against the back of a stone step of a walkway leading from driveway to house. I decided to shoot it with a B.B. gun cause boredom + stupidity. It went through the clay (of course) and ricocheted off the back of the step then WHIZZED past my head, inches from Christmas Storying me, and shattered our van's front passenger window parked in the driveway behind me. I hope I can escape into those memories when I am being abused in some nursing home by a no child left behind educated "nurse" some day.

      Marcus, this comment wins the internet! Reading this made me actually laugh out loud. What a great few stories here. And amen, brother. I can identify and/or agree with everything here. I have exactly ZERO of my things from when I was a kid in the 70's, and can only hope, like you, that all my favorite toys that are no longer with me are at least being kept company at the bottom of the landfill by some legendary collectibles... that I will never see or touch again! haha! Thank you for stopping by and making my day with this comment. It's nice to feel like someone out there just "gets" me! haha!

    With the box in that condition I would build it and display it with the box behind it.

    • @PaulsCollectibles
      @PaulsCollectibles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Kace! I agree. With the box in such poor condition, I have definitely decided to display the vehicle outside of it. I'm just wrestling with how far to go in changing it from it's "factory-shipped" state. Us "in-box" collectors are so apprehensive about messing with things! haha! Thanks for checking out the video, sir!
