    Don't know how or why but I went in sad and came out more optimistic for game 3. Thanks for that guys! And if I didn't already have the shirt, I would get it now ;D
    Greetings from overseas germany and let's go Pacers!

    As a fan waiting few years now to have a really good team in Indy, I understand there will be growing pains. The D was bad from the first month of the season, and will not be elite.These are all lessons from a real contender (Boston). I am happy Indy got 3 rounds of Playoffs to learn from and it is evident the team learned a lot already. I hope we will see serious deffense adjustments tonight, in game 3. Also it feels the rebound is not in the level it was Vs NY. A lot to clean up. Great experience for the future. I think management now knows what they have and I hope to see a much better team next year. Go Pacers.

    Indiana is facing their first healthy team with multiple good offensive and defensive pieces. Both the floor they need to uphold and the cieling they need to reach have been raised, and so far they haven't been up for the task.

    • @caitlincooper2125

      They were 10 seconds away from winning Game 1.

    • @15awesomehighfive
      @15awesomehighfive 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@caitlincooper2125 And yet they didn't win because Boston, despite their tendency to take their foot off the gas and get overconfident against lesser opponents, is full of two-way top 50 players that can swing a game with their offense, defense and playmaking. Neither the Bucks nor the Knicks had that kind of player. Indiana's style and players were enough to beat 2 injury-depleted teams in 13 games, but not enough to beat a healthy top 3 team in the East. Their mistakes are more costly and their strengths are dampened. They are a good, promising team but not an ECF-level team. But at least we get to watch Nembhard play as the stud he is.

    I'm the enemy here (Celtics fan), but really love your analysis and the way you guys broke down the game - wish we had a show like this in the green land. Killer work!

      Most people like hearing good things about THEIR team and want to hear THEIR team talked about. I'm sure the fact that they give a lot of credit to Celtics' players helps endear you to them too. In Indiana, we know basketball, so if you're not bringing some knowledge you probably won't get very far.

    At Pacers lack of communication on defense at this stage is mind boggling. It's start with their core players, specifically Tyrese & Myles.

    • @79glane928
      @79glane928 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its because of an overly complex defensive scheme that is trying to mask a lot of defenciencies and requires way too much thinking.

    • @mollyweir9350
      @mollyweir9350 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@79glane928 What scheme? I don't see any? One of the basic basket ball fundamentals on defense his guard the man while seeing ball. Another tenet is communication. You MUST communicate in order to execute any schemes so if Pascal is trying to make Brown go left that should be communicated to Hali so he knows what to do as the screener & if he can't do that then hide him on a weaker defender like Harford if he is out there or Oshae or Pitchard.

    • @79glane928
      @79glane928 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mollyweir9350you cant hide him because of the constant switching. They can just use screen and roll to hunt him down.

      @mollyweir9350 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@79glane928 It is more than guarding. Luka while bigger has put in effort when needed. For me what I am seeing from Tyrese is a lack of awareness and effort on that side of the ball. I don't see if trying to move laterally or take a chart or better yet communicate with guys on D. As the #1 option you can't get play off the floor.

    I blame the Pacers for game 1, but not because of the 3 point shot but because of the turnover. They should have called a timeout and advanced the ball with 8 seconds left. Also, I think Brown fouled P on that inbounds but they didn't show a replay.

    Rick not playing Jarace Walker is maximum stupidity. The PAcers desperately need someone with the size and athleticism Jarace offers. Once Tyrese went down, there's 10,000 reasons to get Jarace in the game. But Rick puts in...Doug McDermott.

    I really enjoyed this one. One counter point with regard to “aggression”. I agree with Sampson that players need to think score first. I also think the thought process needs to be completed prior to you touch when using off ball screens or prior you getting over the screen when using an on ball screen
    I think looking to score and taking survey dribbles, reset dribbles etc creates a self fulfilling prophecy where you need to look to score bc you’ve given up the advantage offensive flow would have created. It’s a tricky line

    Hmmm. I don't understand why even after Pascal when on that run and put up 10 points in a row.....they went away from him again. If a player is hot, then isn't it normal to keep feeding him? Is it possible there are others who are resentful? I hope not, but it seemed somewhat apparent to me that after that run he had, that he wasn't being used again for a period of time. It wasn't pretty!

    Pascal at 30 yrs old is NOT the defender he once was & someone needs to help him there. That starts with communication.

    You know what I hated most. Jaylen Brown wants to gaurd Turner but when he’s way too small he flops and gets a call. When they foul out our guys their big guys just drive and draw fouls. Very annoying. Double standard.

    I agree with Samson that Pascal should be the primary defender & Nesmith on JB. The problem is though will Nesmith be too aggressive & get into foul trouble. They should still try to make JB go left. He is not as effective going left.

    I know you both LOVE Nemhard. At the start of the playoffs I thought he was doing a good job punishing the Bucks for ignoring him. Now he’s just scoring great. It seems to be taken for granted that he is great on the other side of the ball. I’m questioning a little. I feel like he has been bullied a lot and committed a lot of bad fouls. I think we should hold his getting bullied by Tatum against Rick and not Nemvy but I still think it’s happened a lot. Considering Halliburton is foundational is Nemby size/strength at the 2 a little concerning?

    One thing I noticed last game was Toppin crashing the offensive glass. He was unsuccessful but I think he crashed more. I wonder if not getting the ball was just tough luck or a good job by the Celtics. Next game im predicting two put back dunks or at least one dunk and one chance he turns down to pass the ball to someone at the 3 point line

    I love the x and o explanations but the real issue is how complex you have to make your defense because your best player simply cant guard anybody. That creates these "communication issues" and increases the level of difficulty on everybody.
