Audio feedback is a good thing, IMO. You'll know: (1) how hard the motor is working; (2) when the motor cuts off; (3) when the gearbox is taking a beating; and (4) when the gearbox is buggered... then for therefore adjust accordingly. Quite similar to driving a car with manual transmission and a bike with a derailleur.
Riding on the road is not indicative of what it will sound like in the woods. Sound echos off the pavement & dirt absorbs it. There is also the sound of riding on the trail which counteracts this. Additionally, here you are concentrating on listening to how loud it is & after you have ridden it for a while, you'll be concentrating on riding & won't notice it. I've heard louder. I think for a trailbike considering the advantages this brings...it's a winner. I want.
Yes you are right the sound experience depends on the surroundings. But I try to leave the audio files raw and comparable with the other videos on the channel

Is there any data sheet from manufacturer stating the noise levels?
And from my experience with GB's I would reduce backlash, improve gears MTE values, and find a way to damp the amplitude / change frequency of this system
Sounds the same as many ebike motors. Not an issue for me.
Think I need to hear in person - microphone placement can be very subjective - this was noisy so is one of those infernal multi engagement hubs on freewheel so beloved of some bikers
Personally i dont care about the sound. Its not like it sounds like a dirtbije or something. The sound is a small price to pay for an automatic gearbox motor combo with 130nm on an enduro EMTB!!! Gimme it now!!
Is it run in yet or is it new? Also it's combined with an e-bike motor
This particular bike is for exhibition and foto shooting. But I think I also saw it on press test drive videos. So it is run in already. The gearbox is combined with the drive unit
Probably not a problem for me, a little hard to tell though.

I heard these are 120nm or something so pretty strong.
Yes they are claimed with 130 Nm peak torque. But for the exhibition the maximum torque was limited around 85 Nm

That is Way too Loud ,Poeple keep saying when are gearbox e bikes coming ? Well clearley This is Going to Take a Few years Before They are Going ona bike you can buy,You have all those gears whiring around in a big case and a Hollow bike frame that increases the Noise
These are straight cut gears. If you look at a automotive gearbox the gears are cut in a angle. This reduces sound and improves longevity.
