Quest Protein Tortilla Chips - Four Flavors Reviewed plus a Chip Stress Test

- In this video, my son Connor pays a visit and we review four flavors of Quest Protein tortilla chips. We had previously reviewed the nacho cheese flavor and compared it to the HiLo Life chips and in this video we'll let you know how it stacks up vs the other flavors.

Picked up a 12-pack of these for $16 during Amazon's prime day sale. I got sour cream and cheddar and now I wish I had ordered more. The flavoring is comparable to Ruffles' while the texture is closer to Pringles. Totally satisfying when you need to crunch.
Quest chips can keep me on the Keto path when I really need a “normal” snack. Now that Target sells them I’ve stopped ordering them on line.
Oh cool Target sells them… good to know.
I love the Quest chips. They also have a cool ranch flavor, which I am not a great fan of. I use the Loaded Taco flavor chips when I make homemade taco salad. Taco and nacho are my faves.

I've yet to buy any of these because I was afraid to spend the money and then hate the taste. Thanks for taking that hit for us! :-) Based on your review, I think I want to try the sweet chili and loaded taco. Mayyyybe the chili lime.
Loaded taco is so yummy as are the sour cream cheddar ones!

The loaded taco and sweet chili are my favorite flavors! They changed some ingredients a few years back. They now have a better texture and more flavor than they originally did. I loved yalls review together. So sweet!

Love Quest chips. Dirty Keto but nice to have a bag along with Netflix. My favorite is Sour Cream and Onion.
I use the Nacho ones as a base for Taco Salad regularly. Don't seem to affect my blood sugar or create cravings. Mind you, I am more of a salt person, rather than sugar. Great to see Connor once again.
What is your bar for something to be “dirty” keto? Just curious if there is a specific ingredient…
@@SeriousKeto I don't mean "dirty" keto exactly. I just mean those snacks labelled Keto. I allow myself one per day. I am able to sustain my diet that way.

Quest chips are on my standing subscribe and save order from Amazon. While others are chasing sweet treats on Keto I am a savory and salty kind of gal. I make sure to have an assortment of all flavors and was so happy to see that they FINALLY brought back BBQ and Sour Cream and Onion. Thanks for your review and it's nice to know that Conner likes them also. My bodybuilding grandson is the one who turned me on to Quest chips.
They also have a Ranch flavor. They are good to me. My favorite is probably the Chile Lime, but loaded taco is good too!
I have eaten quest chips for a couple of years now. My go to flavors are two you didn’t review, Ranch and BBQ. I order them off Amazon in the 12 packs. Love them!
Loaded taco flavor is my jam. I put it on my taco salad.
They have ranch flavor as well. My fav is Spicy sweet chili 🌶
Love these things, they do in fact have the big chip bag versions like you'd see for the regular brands. Do wish they were just a little bit closer to regular chip prices though, 2x is a bit on the high end for me.
I LOVE those quest protein chips. Honestly , I like them better than regular chips. Call me crazy. When Vitamin shop has them on sale, I buy lots and lots of them. I make Nili's egg white bread , make a nice sandwhich and a bag of Quest chip then I'm in heaven. It is amazing when you travel .

I was a big Doritos eater prior to keto and I really miss them. I was hesitant to try these because I didn't want to risk the extra expense only to find they wouldn't stand up taste wise. Now I'm definitely going to give them a shot. Thanks for the review!

I thought you might like to try this. I used the loaded taco with my stuffler. I crumbled a few loaded taco chips in the bottom. Then sprinkle of cheese then added the 2 Krazy Ketos batter with little chili powder. Then added Taco meat and cheese it gave a nice taco bell taste.

i have to try the sweet chili ones now!
p.s i put them in the air fryer if i want to melt cheese on them, they don’t get soggy.

Quest chips also come in Ranch and Barbeque flavors. My favorite is Spicy Sweet Chili and Chili Lime. Love these!
I love Quest Chips for taco salads or chili. However, we can only get the 3 nacho cheese and 3 ranch at our local Sam's Club and the price just keeps increasing. But they are really good for a chip which makes them very dangerous if I am trying to lose weight.
Unfortunately I've had to put them on hold while I get the rest of this weight off as they can lead to cravings.
Use with caution for certain.

I've made countless walking tacos with the loaded taco bags 😍. At the Vitamin Shoppe you can get a box of 8.
Your son looks like his Mom and seems to have her personality. Cute kid! (I eat the HiLo salsa chips with a dip I make out of 1/2 cream cheese blended with 1/2 Tostitos salsa. Really helps to keep me satisfied.)
I like to watch the ads to help your channel but the one with plant based jerky I just couldnt. LOL
Loaded taco is my favorite, hands down. They actually have two other flavors. Ranch and BBQ, they are just ok to me. But I LOVE the loaded taco. The nacho, I only buy when nothing else is available.
You left out sour cream and onion. Yum!

I have seen limited selection of big bags at one local Walmart on very rare occasions. So I know they make them. If I recall the price point was about $6 or $7. I could be wrong.
I kinda feel like I’d eat an entire bag, regardless of the size, so I should probably stick to single serving size.

I've been getting these on Amazon auto delivery for a couple of years now. My favorite flavors are Spicy Sweet Chili, Loaded Taco & Chili Lime (in that order). Nacho & Ranch are a pass for me at this point... I find they're too fragile for dipping though...

I like the Spicy Sweet Chili. Not a Dorito, but gives me something to use with salsa. A small 1.1oz bag doesn't have much affect on my blood sugar.
Yay for Quest chips! We buy them at Sam's club. Nacho cheese and sour cream ranch in the smaller bags (they don't get stale that way)
They taste great!! Great on a salad or with one. $9.98 at our SC.
Thanks for the review. I tried the Hilo chips after I saw your review a few months back and liked them. Now whenever I see them go on sale, I grab a few bags at a time. I'll pick up some Quest chips next time I see them on the ad.
I haven't had nachos in a long time I use to always microwave them then I discovered using the broiler for them and in my opinion they always seemed to come out more crunchy with the broiler. I'm very curious how lower carb chips would hold up using the broiler, and will have to try that out one of these days.
All those flavors I can take it or leave it, but those Sweet chili are my favorite...hands down! I eat them with my homemade tuna salad I make with the G. Hughes sweet chili sauce . So good!
If you dip these then stir the dip first to help prevent breakage. I like the loaded taco and chili lime with a sandwich but haven't seen the sweet chili. I buy mine at Walmart.
Quest also makes a potato chip style, which my picky eater loves, so it's a great way to get some protein into her diet. They stopped making them briefly, but we haven't tried them since the "new and improved" version. They did add sour cream and onion, though, and I'm excited to try it!
I break the loaded taco style up over keto chili / bowls like the ones I get from Factor. They bulk up the meal a bit and add some crisp/crunch texture that you miss out on a lot without carb-heavy products.
I found the bbq chips a couple of days ago. I haven’t seen sour cream and onion, but I’ll definitely snag them if I see them.
Love the Quest chips! I've tried all of the flavors but the sweet chili. Maybe that's new because I haven't seen it. To me they are addicted and continue to buy them. 🤣

I bought a bag of the loaded taco flavor. There were approx 20 choose in the bag, about 8 of them were crushed up. Oh well. Thought they were surprisingly good for a protein chip. Walmart did not have all the flavors. Thanks for the review!

They have a Ranch and a BBQ flavor too. BBQ sells out at the Target I shop at. These satisfy my salty crunchy cravings.
This was just the tortilla chips. Do they make both of those flavors as tortilla chips?

The loaded taco are my favorite too though I haven’t tried the sweet chili or lime ones yet. I agree the nacho are kind of blah but will eat them if that’s all I can find. The ranch are pretty good. The new one I just tried are the sour cream and cheddar and oh my are they tasty! I got them from Amazon. I’m going to try the flavors I have yet and see if I like them.
They do work for nachos with melted cheese and hold together but are not crispy. They still taste good. Thanks for another stellar review!
Ranch is my favorite flavor! I usually order a box a month from Amazon and they keep my desire for chips satisfied! The loaded taco is my 2nd favorite flavor but you must try the Ranch it's the best.

My favorite keto chip is Real Ketones (available on Amazon and some Walmarts). They have good crunch and are sturdy enough to hold up to the microwave for melting cheese or guacamole.

I've used the nacho ones for 'nachos.' I just put the meat, cheese, veggies, and salsa on a plate, kind of crumble the chips on top, and eat it with a fork. Of course, I've usually done that with regular tortilla chips too, just break them up first and pile everything on top. After more than four years doing low carb, I've gotten to the place where I just aim for close. :)
I've had the Quest Loaded Taco chips. They were OK. I now have the Atkins tortilla chips. They are pretty decent. They won't stand up to dip though. Thanks for the reviews!

When I really want a chip sub, I go for the Loaded Taco. I have that and the Chili Lime in my pantry right now. I didn't know about the Spicy Sweet chili though- might have to try that. Are the sweet chili less spicy than the chili lime? Those are about as hot as this wimp can handle!
You’re asking the wrong guy, as my threshold for spicy is very high.
They are sweet like bbq.
Nice! Thanks for the taste test. I only buy something like this every now and then so the price point isn't bad. If it keeps me from getting hangry because of a craving or to go with a certain dish, I'm good. 👍 Now to go find the favorite.
My favorite chips for sure! They also have ranch, bbq, and sour cream and (onion?.... something).
Love your content would appreciate a video testing the effects of low glycemic foods such as the superfood Raspberry which supposebly doesnt give you a glucose spike and is healthy with antioxidants and what not.

I like the loaded taco, sweet chile, sour cream n onion, and bbq flavored chips. If you really want to know what a band-aid that's been on someone else's toe blister after a full day at Disneyland tastes like, try the Cheddar n Sour Cream.

Love ❤❤❤ all the quest chips…However the Chili Lime is my Favorite. Also try the chips w/cheese and jalapeños microwaved, however don’t cover it, the steam from covering makes it somewhat soggy 😊
Spicy sweet chili is my favorite. BBQ flavor runs a close 2nd. You'll have to try those. Target carries them as well

Hello! Two Targets within a 30 mile radius and neither one had any brand of protein chips darn it. I headed home empty handed. I stopped at the gas station to fill up and they had Quest Taco and the lime one! Well alrighty then lol 6 miles from my house and $3.49 per bag. I never would have thought to look in a gas station. :)

I got a bag of the Taco at Giant Eagle, and they were about $2 a bag. I keep forgetting I have them in the cupboard lol 😂 if I like them, I’ll be happy. I need something else besides pork rinds…they rip my gums apart. Good video Steve! 👍

My daughter recently bought me BBQ Genius Gourmet Keto chips & I really liked those.
Reminded me a bit of what I remember PopChips (something like that) to be texturally.
I was yelling at my TV, "Where's the BBQ chips???" Hands down, the best of the bunch! The first time I opened a bag, I jumped up and down and scared the wits out of my grandkids.

Okay, I just went to the store and saw they had 3 flavors (nacho, ranch and salsa) at $7 for a 4oz bag. I couldn't pull the trigger at that price.
Spicy sweet chili is my favorite and has been for a couple of years. Lot of random scarcity though. The worst is when you get a box and somehow one or two of the bags has a tiny hole and the chips are stale.
They had a BBQ flavor then it went away...now it's back. Got them at Target also. They are GREAT but I also love the Sweet and Spicy.

Thanks for this review it was extremely helpful. I usually order the HiLo chips and like your experience getting the quest chips delivered in a Box is they're always mostly crumbs so next time I'm at target I think I will try a bag of the quest chips.
Hi Lo chili lime is a top contender for flavor.
The sweet chili are my favorite too. I like to make some chili and add a little cheese and sour cream and eat the chili lime ones with that or make like a Wendy's type taco salad. They always have a ranch flavor that is pretty good but it's kind of boring like the nacho cheese flavor.
I love the taco flavor. Feels like I'm eating doritos. Now we need a recipe to make our own!!

The Loaded Taco and the Cool Ranch are my favorites, but i also like the Nacho. Unfortunately, my Walmart just clearanced them out. I bought all that was left. They were marked down by more than half the original cost.
I love it when I can empty out a department on clearance. I just did that with Chomps beef sticks at my grocery store.

I’d have to say the only chip I miss from my non-keto days is the chili lime Takis! Definitely getting some of these.
My local Walmart has the smaller ($2.77) and larger bag ($6.98) sometimes. I like the smaller bag as an occasional treat. Those are southern California prices.

Try doing the cheese in the oven because in the oven the broil feature is good for melting cheese it seems the oils from the cheese is better controlled that way which sets up better

Hilo Life also has a Chili Lime flavor. I found some in a large bag at Costco last time I went. These work great for nachos and I think are much better than the nacho cheese flavor.
I'd definitely snag a bag at Costco.

We love using all those (minus Sweet chili) for low carb nachos. Just throw on some ground beef, cheese and fixings and they are delicious.
Given the lack of sturdiness, I'm guessing those are "fork nachos". 😄
