Chris did not want to do a music video but was being asked to because it’s just part of recording albums. He didn’t feel there needed to be a video unless it had a purpose. So he chose this song and depression/bipolar disorder. They made the husband an officer to show that as much as he was able to protect the community, he could not be there every moment to protect his wife from herself, that it’s ok to reach out for help
I can't watch this without crying it's a powerful song but this video speaks for itself Chris Stapleton is one of the greatest songwriters of our generation his storytelling is deep and thought provoking
This is almost a complete mirror of my life. I have never attempted suicide but I do suffer from bipolar it came on suddenly a couple years ago when I hit my forties (which is abnormal I believe but) my husband is exactly like the man in the video EXTREMELY Supportive and I wish I could be all better I do see how great he is and I know my life is wonderful but something inside me just will not allow me to accept it and you can not understand it unless you Go through it and I didn't understand it until I felt it inside me... I am blessed with a beautiful home a loving husband of 25 yrs and 3 amazing sons and I wish I was able to feel That And also I view this from a different side my dad committed suicide when I was 18 I found him after he had shot himself and an only child and daddy's little girl so you can only imagine...
Chris purposely did this video to bring attention to mental health issues such as the bipolarity/depression showcased. I cry every time I see this video.
Chris was going to be the first artist to play at KY Wildcats football field this year. But because of the virus it was cancelled till next year. This man is amazing beautiful voice and I love when his wife sings with him. Great video and Great reaction and Stay Safe
Got a friend in the hospital right now over a recent BP episode. It's such a devastating disease that robs you of your life. People who suffer from it really can't function in a relationship.
I volunteered to be a Crisis Counselor for the National Crisis Text Line after first seeing this video. So far have talked 4 people out of killing themselves. I almost did once so I know their pain

I had to stop this reaction and go watch the video. Mental health is a big problem. This video drives that home. I also like that the characters weren't stereotyped. They were from the outside.. A normal great couple. She didn't have any problems. But behind the mask...there were issues. He did everything he could and it still wasnt enough.
