Great recipe..... My recently married wife of a year said I didn't know you can cook so good my family loved this pot roast my secret is Urban Culture Cooking with KC. I will tell her eventually after some more great recipes from Urban lol Thanks KC really appreciate you
I did it! I didn't use that many onions though! I used 2. The meat was a top round I got on sale. Next time I will use more potatoes and carrots because they all came out great. As for garlic, I used way a lot but it cooks out. The house smelled like garlic all night as I let it go on low overnight. It woke me up a couple times.
You the man bro. Keep on rocking. Making a pot roast for the wife tomorrow for her to come home to, I work nights and she wants something special. Im using your recipe.
Im making this today. I think Ill add a can of stewed tomatoes. I know its not a common ingredient in pot roast, but I love the flavor and texture. Cant wait to try your recipe. Thank you!
I just got my red wine and garlic roast out to defrost, will be trying it this way instead of the oven, i can prepare it all ang turn it on before i go to work, love it, dinner is done when i get home, single Australian
Hey man! Trying your exact recipe tonight!! Thank you for the flour bit, wouldn't of thought of that myself but I'm just your average stay at home mom cook, lol. So thank you kindly for that! Can't wait :)
Yes, thanks it's a way to hold down the onions so that they don't float to the top. Also, it adds flavor to the vegetables when the meat cooks. Hope that was helpful.
That's some slap yo Momma great eating!!!! I love how simple it is to make a great meal. If everyone at home would put in the effort to make a meal like this at home, the children would be home. Be home to prepare the food and be proud to be helping the family as so many did in the past. That's how I learned how to cook, sow, clean house, and do any chores that was asked of me. I felt like a real part of the family. It's a lost world anymore. Be careful and be safe.
So true You're exactly right, that's how I learned how to cook as well. Real homemade cooking is starting to be a thing of the past, but we need to start getting these youngsters back into cooking again.
@@TheUrbanCultureKitchen Thank you for letting me know, that the best food you'll ever eat is, your own cooking. It's not hard. Just get to the kitchen and look up recipes on line. You can't go wrong. And it costs a lot less. And you will feel pride in yourself.
I also like to add dried bay leaves for extra flavour. It can be a bit annoying having to take them out after the roast is done, but definitely worth it
I didn't see you use any of the other ingredients in your description like the balsamic vinegar, dijon mustard, brown sugar and dried thyme. Where do they fit in?
Great presentation and recipe. Just followed. Will be following the same recipethis week! Thanks so much. Looking forward to more of your recipes too. KC's recipes bangin man.
This looks like a good recipe and I am trying it now. I hope it comes out right because you have one recipe in the video and a totally different recipe in the written version. I am following the video version as I didn’t see the written version until I had started the pot
i just made pot roast the other day and was using a recipe that said to make the gravy right after searing the roast, and then adding it to the crock pot, but you are saying that making the gravy after the 6-8 hours works better, and is more flavorful. i'm gonna try it your way next time

I never thought to add flour for searing. Brilliant, thank you very much! I'm going to the store now. Why do you put the vegetables on the bottom? I'm curious because I see other chefs set the meat on the bottom.
Hey misty The reason why I put the vegetables at the bottom is because most of the time when it's cooking they float to the top and the meat holds the vegetables down Also when the meat is cooking that's where all the flavor goes to the bottom. And most of the oil from the meat flows to the top and you don't want your vegetables soaking in the grease. Hope that was helpful
I was looking for a good crockpot recipe for pot roast. This is it. That looks like what I've been looking for. Gonna do this for tomorrow night's supper. Just subscribed, thanks.
work on not saying "uh" and "you know". You'll be surprised how much quality it brings to your viewers. Thank you, needed someone who knew what they were talking about with the flour.
Oh I know because I used to do the exact same thing when I used to work for myself and would speak to potential customers. Then a buddy mentioned it and from then on, i could tell within weeks how people treated me after.

Delicious! If you’re on a budget, regular carrots are WAY cheaper than baby carrots. Just peel them yourself.
Thanks good tip
Or i just go to Aldi, baby carrots are only 99 cents 😎
Yes they are
Real carrots taste better to me!
I like teenager carrots the most

looks like it came out great .. a little too many onions for me... but tell me why put the meat on top of the vegetables ??
Yes, thanks it's a way to hold down the onions so that they don't float to the top. Also, it adds flavor to the vegetables when the meat cooks. Hope that was helpful.

This looks so good. Thank you for the cook tips on flour, I always end up with thin liquid gravy so this will help a lot! ❤
incredible video Urban Culture Cookin with KC. I smashed the thumbs up on your video. Maintain up the good work.
I'm making a Thanksgiving pot roast. Came across your video & prepared it your way. Now I gotta wait 6-8 hrs to see how it comes out.

Wow that looked so good! Thanks for sharing the recipe. Keep them coming.
Great recipe, but i would add a Cajun roux instead of gravy mix. More flavor.
Hi KC, man does your pot roast look delicious and I bet it was fall apart tender.
Hey Rick how it going, thanks for the compliment. And yes it was very tender

Fun fact, you can also do this with a nonstick pan. That's what I use.
Cool, thanks for the tips
Outstanding
I love me some pot roast. Made a Mississippi pot roast last week and it was sooo good! Looks delish 😋
Hey Lisa
How are you doingtoday?
work on not saying "uh" and "you know". You'll be surprised how much quality it brings to your viewers. Thank you, needed someone who knew what they were talking about with the flour.
It's a force of habit when I get nervous. But thanks for pointing that out.
Oh I know because I used to do the exact same thing when I used to work for myself and would speak to potential customers. Then a buddy mentioned it and from then on, i could tell within weeks how people treated me after.
What size crockpot are you using?
Did you put flour on the bottom of the Crock-Pot on purpose?
I love the recipe, but what threw me was you didn't clean the meat, the container liner was on the chuck roast.
Am I supposed to leave the Crock-Pot preheating while I'm searing the meat.
Where is the celery?! lol
Trying this recipe but I always rinse my meat off. Do people not rinse their meat off?
It is a matter of preference.
I make hamhocks and beans in mine.
Nice I'm going have to try that next time
YEAH BUDDY ❤️👍 YOU GOT IT GOING 👌👍 JUST LIKE MOMA USED TO MAKE ❤️❤️❤️OH SOOO GOOOOOD👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌🇺🇸🤠
How many pounds was your pot roast
It's a 3 to 4 pound pot roast. Hope that was helpful.
Why so many onions?
Bro that's WAY more then 3 tb of oil! Lol
You didn't wash that meat
Who washes meat?
You're talking too far away from the microphone 🎤 iii
Thank you appreciate the feedback Hope things will be different in the next video I just bought a new mic
Wash your logos out . 😆 🤣 😂 I can hear 👂 the man loud & clear & my hearing is not good 😐
You could have just used flour and water and skipped the gravy mix.
Yes, you are right
Bruh why did I read the title "pot roast in a crack pot"
That meat hasn’t been washed, man!
You don't wash beef, you just add some vinegar to it and rinse it off.
ONION SOUP
He didn’t wash that meat gross
Baby carrots dont have much taste. Regular carrots are much better.
Baby carrots absorb the flavor of the juice in the pot.
You know what im saying ..no i dont
😢not carnivore friendly
You didn't wash your meat....😮
Speak louder
Maybe you want to clean the meat first. You had the tag stuck on the bottom 😏
Looks messy, should have cleaned meat, but he is just showing us. Make sure you clean it. I am sure it's good tho!!
