Everything you said is spot on! My husband and I will be finishing our Norte Camino in September from Gijon. We will then have completed 6 Caminos staying in Hotels and having our belongings sent ahead! We enjoy every minute and are 70 years old!

Agree with everything you mention. Great. We're going the first part of the Camino Português from Lisbon to Porto this year. The only addition I have to make is 'it's not a sin to take a bus on a rainy day'

THANK YOU for this thought. I am getting ready for my first Camino (CP from Porto) and agonizing (until reading this) over what to do if it rains a lot on some days--buying expensive rain gear? Stay in one place? It never occured to me to just take a bus if the rain is too much. YES!!! Thanks : )

Thank you Anita for dispelling these myths. More importantly, respect one another as to whether you carry or not carry your backpack, whether you do it for religious or personal reasons or even the amount of time you take ... in the end it is your Camino. I did the full Camino Frances this past September-October but I had done my research and knew exactly how I wanted to do it and I am glad I did. Thank you for the great content you put out. Buen Camino 🚶‍♀🥾🚶‍♀

All good points. Re guide books, because a lot of/ most people follow the start and finish locations it puts a lot of pressure on the accomadation there. A point I would add is this is not a wilderness trail. The idea of walking from village to village to town etc. is a very different experience.

great comments Anita! I found it funny that people are paper chasers rather than enjoying the journey. Last year I too did the Norte abd enjoyed your vlog. (even left comments haha) .
I recommeded your videos especially the equipment one on a forum ( and others took up your suggestions esp the oversized rain coat).
Next year I am planning another camino/s. This will entail the first week of the Norte (as it is the best), 5 days on the San Salvador and the Primativo to Lugo. After that Santiago to Fisterra. So, no I won't get a piece of paper but will slow down and enjoy it more. I discovered that rushing through a Camino is not the way but a process.

Thank you. The photo was taken last summer when I walked the Camino Norte.

@@TheProfessorandHerPassport I thought so! I am walking the Norte this summer from Irún. Watched all your Norte videos. Very helpful. BTW I have a question. The route through Boo de Piélagos, Arce, Puente Arce, and Mogro looks a bit confusing. Does the Camino pass thru Mogro or go south of it?

@@Cmhelbig I actually took a bus through that section as my foot was acting up. I will say that most of the route is very well marked. I used the Wise Pilgrim app and the locals are very helpful if you happen to get off course.
