I've lived many different places in my life. (Air Force brat) I moved to Indiana at 19. Got married. Had a couple kids. Indiana is HOME to me now. I've been here almost two thirds of my life. This song is wonderful. ☃️🎄❄️❤️🎶
I have been in California for 21 years and grew up in Indiana. This song is so perfect for Indiana at Christmas. It always brings a smile to my face. I play it on my rig when I take Santa through my neighborhood and all the parents and kids who come out to see Santa love this song and ask me who it is and where I got it. It is such a beautiful song. Thank you for creating it and singing it.
I heard this song on the radio once when I visited Indiana. It was snowing. I was driving on the highway. People had Christmas lights up. The song just fit the mood. Very nice melody and rythm.
Indiana will always be home. Left there when I was 15 in 1980. Came back a couple of times and get really down when I have to leave. I'll be back......
I just saw them live in my hometown in Indianapolis. They only perform this live when in their hometown as well (they went to IU) and wrote this for us Hoosiers!
And now they are calling to me In the city its snowing THe sidewalks blowing But there's somewhere I'd rather be Thousands of people all walking by But Somehow I'm still alone I'm gonna spend winter my way Again on the highway I'm ready to find a way home Indiana, thats where I'm going This time of year you know how I feel Indiana, thats where I'm going Where Christmas will always be real We'll build up the fire tell a story or two With good friends we always invite The old and the young come together as one And we sing into the night Indiana, thats where I'm going This time of year you know how I feel Indiana, thats where I'm going Where Christmas will always be real And I remember those who are gone Looking down on my home from above Deep in December its where I belong Sharing the days with the ones who I love Indiana Indiana Indiana Indiana Indiana Indiana Indiana Indiana Indiana Where Christmas will always be real The moonlight shines on a sycamore And now they are calling to me
My wife gave me this CD for my early December birthday back in 2016. I was familiar with the group and very excited to play it for the first time during my nighttime once-a-week 200+ mile commute from Delaware to the NYC area. I listened to "Indiana Christmas" for the first time and was overcome with a rush of lyrical inspiration. I set my thoughts to paper when I finally had the chance and worked it out on the piano when I got back to Delaware. This was the end result: th-cam.com/video/YnVY9mal7bI/w-d-xo.html I finally got to see SNC on The Freeman Stage (an outdoor venue) in southern Delaware in summer of 2019. They lived up to everything I hoped for!!! (Their ribbing a golfer putting on a nearby green right in the middle of the show was utterly hilarious!) And I appreciated them signing their latest CD after the show. Cheers to Chaser!
As a young man in the 90's I thought I would surely leave this boring state one day. Oh the young naive shit I was... Wife, 2 kids, house, job, all these things I've found right here at home and I couldn't imagine living ANYWHERE else! Sure its boring, but those who have gained a modicum of adult wisdom will know this to be a blessing instead of a curse. No news, is GOOD news. And the river is always there to ease my mind.
My favorite Christmas song. Listening right now back home in Indiana.

And now they are calling to me
In the city its snowing
THe sidewalks blowing
But there's somewhere I'd rather be
Thousands of people all walking by
But Somehow I'm still alone
I'm gonna spend winter my way
Again on the highway
I'm ready to find a way home
Indiana, thats where I'm going
This time of year you know how I feel
Indiana, thats where I'm going
Where Christmas will always be real
We'll build up the fire tell a story or two
With good friends we always invite
The old and the young come together as one
And we sing into the night
Indiana, thats where I'm going
This time of year you know how I feel
Indiana, thats where I'm going
Where Christmas will always be real
And I remember those who are gone
Looking down on my home from above
Deep in December its where I belong
Sharing the days with the ones who I love
Indiana Indiana Indiana
Indiana Indiana Indiana
Indiana Indiana Indiana
Where Christmas will always be real
The moonlight shines on a sycamore
And now they are calling to me
