Ten years ago Mushi-Shi season one was out but season two was more of a recent release (can't remember how recent off hand) and this is the opening song for season two. So they could have watched an episode from season two and didn't realize that there was that much difference in time when they were released. It is vary rare that there is that much of a gap between seasons. It is an easy mistake to make.
