Thanks so much for the idea! Beautiful card and interesting deviation from the regular gatefold. I would add a piece of white cardstock to the inside for sentiment and personal message, and only glue at the sides so it doesn’t have to bend with the back piece. Hmm. Going to try it. But I think will need to give simple instructions for the recipient of putting back together. I’ve sent easel cards and instructions as well because of that.

This would make a great Christmas card with the topper being a removable tree decoration. ( NO I haven't made a single Christmas card yet! Lol)
I think I would decorate the inside of the card as well, so there is something to look at once the slider front is removed.

I love the card style and the color used. If you used a sediment layer inside you would either have to attach only one side or split it. Or would it look and work okay scoring the layer also.

Hi Sam. I notice that sometimes you mat your DSPs and sometimes you don't. Is there some sort of papercraft or graphic design "rule" on matting? For example, use a plain colour matt under a patterned DSP when using a white card base, but if you are using a colour card base then you don't need to matt? Or do you use a matt to add strength to a card if using a lighter weight card base? Matting takes a lot of extra resources (card, glue, time etc) so it would be great to know when it's ok not to mat. Tx
Hello . It really is entirely up to you if you wish to mat and layer . Using a light weight card with a lot of embellishments on it may not stand properly and would need an extra mat, using thicker card may not . If you just wish to stamp images then again lighter card may be all you need . I always say experiment using scrap bits of card to see what works 😊
