I drove a golf r for about an hour. By the time I was done, my passenger and I were fatigued from the G's. It might be called a hot hatch, but it is an ANIMAL!
It was a great car. In 3 years nothing did not work exactly as expected. I also suggest looking at smokingtire review of the stinger as we go over more of the driving dynamics of it
Hey, I have no idea if you're still active on your youtube channel, but I happened across this video because I have the option to pick between a 2018 Golf R and the Kia Stinger GT2, and was watching videos on the two cars in order to help me pick. Since you've owned both the Golf R and the Kia Stinger, could you provide some insight as to which car you would choose and why? I understand that the two cars are entirely different in respects to what they were made for, but if you had to pick one to live with, factoring in all of the pros and cons of each car, which would you pick?
As just a comfortable daily the Kia is great. But it’s a GT car. The golf R is a lot more fulfilling or interesting to drive. It also is surprising more practical I found to put stuff in. That being said it was not great to drive in traffic. Harsher ride all around

Just bought this and I appreciate the honesty. I plan to get a transmission tune.

This is the 2018 stinger. You probably will have less complaint if you drive the stinger between 2020 and 2022.

@@scharnscharnhorst7626 Which is more expensive to maintain in your experience? Also, did you ever tune the R or the Stinger?
I’d say cost to maintain falls close enough together to make no difference. Never tuned either.
@@scharnscharnhorst7626 any issues with either?
