No better place to be is in the garage on a cold rainy windy day. Even if your just shining up some chrome wheels an painting a rew little parts. Its still getting something done. Don have yourself a great week buddy. An just keep on hot rodding. 😁👍👍
Thanks Richard! Yeah man it was cold to soon and I walked in the garage and it was pretty cozy. I said heck I'll work in here today. I enjoyed just playing with these cars and doing little easy things to them. Have a great week buddy
Hey Big Don. The Chevys are sure looking good. It's nice to get out and just play with them now and again instead of wrenching on them. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🍁
Heck Don cool video,Any little things you do makes the bigger things looks good Too. Yep it's that time of the year don't know what kind of weather we going to get.Have a good one Bud 👍✌️
Hi Don, I love all the extra features that you are installing and the interesting information about the parts ,is just great. I know how you feel about the cold and raining weather. Yesterday was not great and like you ,Sunday is kinda the day I get to catch up on stuff too .👨🔧
That parking brake is pretty kool, I never knew they had such a thing, frickin badass to have all 3 years of nomads take care brother, don't work too hard Aloha
Thanks Sonny! Yeah man these old park brake warning light are super cool. It took me a long time to find all these cars for sure. Have a good one Buddy 👍 Aloha
What a great, productive Sunday...in spite of the rain! The flashers look great! It was good to see the stock washer reservoir location too. I had to stop the video to go check out my '55 Bel Air 2 door sedan to check my inner fender well for the holes. I found 3 of which I know one is for the clip for the square plug going to the headlight and parking lamp. The Nomads sure look great all lined up in the shop! I am looking forward to that new engine going in the convertible too! Keep up the great work and I look forward to the next one! Take care Don!
Thanks Jeff! Man the old 50s stuff is so cool to me. In a world of LS Swaps I still love the old stuff. Got lucky finding a NOS 56 park brake signal. The location of a 55 washer bottle is unique to 55 chevys. I got to looking at the bracket and looked under the hood and seen the 3 holes.. Everyone has there own idea on restoring these old cars. My theory is to make them complete and functional and I can always fix them up from there. I'm ready to start getting all these parts on the convertible. Seems like summer was 2 days ago and now we have cold windy rainy days. Lol Have a good one Buddy 👍
@donshotrodgarage1717 I hear you Don, that is a great way to work on them and keep making them better while driving them. Keep up the great work and take care!
Great video buddy! I really like the Emergency Flasher on the 56. My buddy's 56 Buick had that on there and they are cool! I really like the little added touches on old cars and trucks like you do! Gives them a little bit of Class! Thanks buddy!
Thanks Jimmy! I love all the gadgets they had years ago. Nowadays are the cars seem the same. Just think years ago we would adjust points valves and everything else. Our cars were part of us. Later Buddy
Hey Big Don! I Love those lamps! I have 2 complete assemblies in stock, and one lamp alone without the bracket. I'm gonna use it for the 68 C10 brake distribution block as a wheel cylinder failure warning instead of a park brake warning. I have a 64 Impala power brake booster in my 55 which was a full bolt in. And a 69 Camaro drum/drum master. I did have to drill a new hole in the Impala booster linkage to correct a pedal rod geometry issue though. I also prefer side terminal batteries.
Interior dome light on 56 looks good. I always liked the battery mount location (fire wall passenger side) on 55 & 56. Better battery weight distribution, better than hanging the heavy battery in front corner of the front fender behind the grille ( a Bad location )
double pair of blue dots. Our 56s dont have washers or emergency brake light or wonder bars. there is a wonder bar in the corvette though and it works, but only get one station. when the station comes in strong the wonder bar stops on the station, but when the station comes in weak the wonder bar passes it up. thanks don
Yeah man the old wonder bar radios have a hard time finding stations nowadays! Your nomad is super cool man I love it. Your corvette is super cool as well. Later buddy
I care Don. I'm so slow with my 55 but I'm picky. Maybe a little lazy. Lol. Took me a long time to find my NOS fender shields and rocker mouldings. Some people wouldn't care or even like them but I build mine like I did in the seventies. Winter's coming so enjoy them while you can. Later.
Thanks Brad! I bet that did take a while to fins those NOS pieces! I also like how cars were built in the 70s and early 80s! Lots of great original good cars back than, nowadays you don't really know. So much reproduction stuff and even whole bodies. Later man
I too like the side terminal batteries. What I don't like is the use of clamp on battery cable connectors. The connections are not great, the steel strap and the bolts will rust. You would be much better off using the proper cables for a better connection and just cut the other end and swage on the proper terminal for ground and for the solenoid. A swedged connection is superior to any bolt together connection because it is copper to copper and will not cause corrosion due to dissimilar metals.
Thanks Buddy! I'm thinking maybe another 10x20 garage attached to the back of the garage! Going to get some prices for that soon. Momma wants me to sell off some cars and just keep a couple. Lol We will see what happens. Have a good one man
Hey Glenn! I haven't had a chance to respond back to your email yet. I've seen those Tail gate chrome strips.i don't need them right now be sure do appreciate the link. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Big Don, always a pleasure to see your collection!

Cool video! Man I love seeing those Nomads. I keep thinking of selling a few of my other cars and getting a 55 Nomad. Just nothing like the Tri-Fives!

Another Good Video Don,you need a Little metal carport for your convertible if you could get away with one between the house and the garage???
