We have a secret weapon for gravel bikes here in Czech. Almost every gravel rider uses this. Czech brand TUFO makes Speedero, Swampero and Thundero. They ride better than most popular tires and they last like 3x longer than most of them. I dont know if they are available everywhere but they are bomb.

Not ridden Tufo for years since they did the weird semi tubular thing. Definitely keen to find some after your heads up though

+1 on that. Hungarian gravel riders also love Tufo tires, especially thundero :)

In Poland A LOT of people rides them too. Super fast, durable and still cheaper than most other western brands :D

Totally agree with your comments, super comfy tyre, reliable, easy to get on, not quick, great for drifting in dry, not great in the wet break away fairly quickly. Surprisingly they were great fully loaded on the West Country way and I rode all the downhill sections but doing the Leeds Liverpool canal ride we had a very wet day and near Skipton I nearly needed up in the canal😅, suffice to say as it was heading towards winter off they came and on went the Pirelli Cinturato gravel m tyres, much better for staying on.

I just used these on a gravel bike that I rented. I found them REALLY slow, particularly on the road. Grip was good on dry smooth gravel and easy single track and the comfort was good. I think there are a lot better tires out there.

Looking forward to a review on the 700x45 Reaver? My Gravel rides often end up being a mix of pavement, gravel, and singletrack. So, I'm always looking for the perfect all-arounder. However, the one thing that I cannot tolerate is a tire that is slow-rolling on pavement or firm gravel.

Going on shortly. After I’ve got over the epic battle of fitting Challenge Gravel Grinder XPs 😱

All of the reviews that I have seen are for the 60 TPI versions and as you said, they are good, not outstanding. The 120 TPI version is outstanding. Not available with Silk Shield or in tan wall. It is a luxuriously smooth ride and fast considering the amount of traction that it provides.

@@Alvarezpl Silk Shield and Tan Wall are 60TPI, black wall without silkshield is 120TPT

Hi Guy! Would love to know your thoughts on the Stigmata since your last video, particularly around how agile the bike's neo geo feels vs the V3. Did you get the chance to try the rigid fork?

What I'm finding with most gravel mud tires (WTB Sendero, Resolute, Goodyear Prime etc.) is that they're still hard compound. So they've to good bite in the soft stuff but they're sketchy on wet root and rock and really scary cornering on wet roads. Pirelli Centurato S has a softer compound and decent tread grip but it's slow on the road as a result. Pirelli Centurato M is a decent compromise but WTB Nano is still my go to for most dirty off road rides. Just be sure to get the decent SGS carcass as there's some cheap ones that are really leaky and fragile. Oh and Specialized Rhombus Pro is really good too. Just waiting on some 47s for test but I was a big fan of the 40s.

I've got the new Reavers ready to go soon as it dries out a bit. I'm on Challenges right now with Conti Terra Speed in 45 waiting too

Curious to know what tires are you running on the Stigmata now?

Was on Pirelli Cinturato RS, then RC, then Schwalbe Overland. Other set of wheels I ran on Sunday have Goodyear Peak on and I’m going again on those tonight at a slightly different pressure. Then I’ll probably go to WTB Nano as a benchmark reset before the next round of testing with some fresh Conti and Schwalbe in 45s

We worry so much about minutiae, but 100% of people should focus on just getting fitter. Tires might matter when you're a professional, but none of this will make any difference to an amateur. Stop worrying about shit that doesn't matter. Go train more.
